may seem a daft question, but not familiar with 4qd. do you need 2 of these for a robot??
yes 2 required for left and right, ive got the interface to rc reciever aswell.
Selection of some drill motors/batteries/chargers in a wee job lot, might be of use to someone living near this guy.

Old style 18v dewalt drill, as used in 540 and many US bots;

Blimey Im still using 1 of these time for a change I think, its getting quite shagged now ! :D
in what? (I mean weight style)
hi guys just thought might bump it back up so that people can show us links ;)

bosch 750
What's the beat way too keep 750's cool or don't they need it?
They have induction fan built in. External fans an heatsinks can be used though
Check out some of the other stuff the guy is selling. Says he's giving up model engineering, he's put up some scooter motors, 4QD boards and a decent looking lathe and mill too
i thought that too jamie :)

they're back on ebay again! :)
But what does it do!?
I really want one and I don't know why because I'm not even aware of what it does, it just looks like something that would do something awesome.
it's a linear actuator. which is used by most featherweight crushers and lifters. basically it's a motor+gearbox+threaded rod assembly, when you put voltage through it a peice of metal will extend out 4 inches (the length it extends is called the stroke) and it will have 250lbs of force behind it.
It doesn't tell you the dimensions so how do you know if 4 inch is a decent size? That sounds really awesome by the way. Bear this in mind for future creations. :D
Story of my life :rofl:Quote:
so how do you know if 4 inch is a decent size?

Difference in robotic terms between low and high density polyethylene?
Hdpe is significantly stronger but is less flexible than ldpe so parts will probably have to be thicker to compensate.
It should make decent armour if you allow it room to flex
ah, i failed :/ i meant to bid for the boards but forgot
snap

Definitely want a go of this, but a bit too far away :( . Could be an ideal heavy base for someone though, could even be a ready made 4WD base for a bot
Anyone got a transmitter fetish?

Wonder how many could be converted to 2.4GHz.
Thing with that scooter is you cant tell if it runs off a single motor or 2 separate ones
Worth the gamble, if it is one motor you just use it to mess about in. Make it like a remote control pope-mobil :D
Solid-state equivalent of a battleswitch, might try one out in Drumroll for the weapon as it eliminates another point of failure (moving parts in a relay that could break):

Also, some 8A (up to 30V) controllers that might be of use in the beetleweight class:

There are some 2A ones there that I'm going to try for my ant, will see how well they handle.
Picked up these links a few weeks back on the RW101 forum, just remembered about them now though and figured they'd be worth sharing.

Not to write it off, but it looks like they've put one too many zeros in that current rating :uhoh:
Also, 7.2V - 8.4V input voltage isn't particularly flexible for robotic applications.
as a rule of thumb divide the amperage rating by 20, the answer will be close to the ture amp rating
Chance to get some RW memorabilia from those lovely Behemoth guys

That Behemoth wheel went for £50 with £10 P&P!!!
I wonder how much a Bitza wheel would go for.............. :D
