Quite a good reading on that chart, although I'm quite suprised your getting issues starting up any faster without higher current spikes. Implies it's more of a timing issue than loading.
I'll have a look on a few forum's and see what I can find regarding timing for you.
I did some reading up on it a year or so ago, and remember finding out that scorpion motors like a high timming mode best.... i fiddled with the setting for a while doing spin ups, analysis then moding the software then spinnups again etc... i think it needs to be customised to the robot to get the best performance... i havent bothered with 540, i just left the settings the same as 360... but fiddling around with it did make a massive difference on 360.
my settings;
Throttle tab in software;
vehicle type- airplane
throttle type- auto calibrate end points
throttle response- medium (you could probably get away with turning urse up- but 360 span up best set to medium)
rest of that page should be greyed out.
Brake tab in softare;
0% dissabled (obvious reasons lol)
cut offs tab;
cutoff voltage - auto lipo 4v per cell
current limiting - 300a (urse will be different as its a 160 - basicaly i set it the stage below insensative... as that setting had a tendancy to set the esc on fire :)
cut off type - hard cut off
Motor tab (the important one);
motor start power - high (100)
motor timing- high (10)
direction - forward (upto you)
PWM rate -out runner mode
other tab;
power on beep - enabled (i like it)
BEC voltage-5V
logging tab;
every seccond- and i log everything
Ok thanks for that will test more at the weekend, I had timing set to low(5) and motor start power at medium(59) so that may be why.
Thanks Graeme.
Thats exactly the same reason I've kept the bevel set in NST.
Get that disc running faster Graeme, it will fly further when I hit it :proud: :proud: :proud:
Trev
no problem trev i will aim for your head. :lol:
:lol: :lol: :lol:
did some more testing today with high timing and still no luck, i think its either the motor or esc but not sure which. i may have to run it as it is and use an interface board to ramp it up smoothly and put up with a 4 sec spin up time. :(
Hi Graeme - if you want I have another 4035-560KV here that we can send over for you to try, and I also have another Align motor thats similar power I think and 470KV that I can send as a test too if you want. Not sure if that's any help but let me know and I can get them in the post to you on Monday. Both Brand new so should be running fine.

That's the Align motor I have spare. 6.6kw peak so power's good (RPM may be a little low though).
Hi Grant thanks for the offer, if you could send the scorpion i could test that as i can put my 8mm shaft in it from mine which has the gear welded on but probably couldnt test with the align if the shaft doesnt fit.
Looks like you really will be using a screwdriver motor!
;)
