Look if you are afraid of fighting And His Army driven by an 8 year old in the comp fights just say so, don't keep making all of the other excuses.

jack
ill see you there sunday jack , finally we meet face to face lol
lol yeah :P
ill be there both days.... Oliver will be with me on sunday, so anyone who fancies watching a nearly 2 yr old boy... offers welcome !!
If anyone picks on ripper, as ill be on my way home from maidstone ill probably have Major Damage outside in the carpark on the trailer so watch out !!!!!
Just a quick update; it seems most of the crew are becoming ill! David won't be there as hes got swine flu and my mum is currently suffering from a bad chest infection, so shes doubtfull, which means for you guys that there wont be much in terms of food on the sunday. So i would suggest either bringing something with you or nipping into a supermarket on that sunday morning, as the cafe in the venue is fairly expensive and very slow at serving (the show will be finished before you get your food!).
Anyway the trucks are loaded and were ready to set off later, we've got about 100 robots signed up, so it should be a good one, lets hope somebody turns up to watch!
See you tomorrow.
Alan
From what yor dad was tellig me its looking like you, me, Mike and Ed Wallace. This ought to be fun

thnats is fitted with a new team thants speed controller and by tomorrow will be running in 14.4V rather than 9.6 :P. and it now has new ultra smexy chain drive . Dubbed , the cardboard box (its mdf really) , thants is now actually pretty nice looking and wont be driving into the pit everytime again tomorrow , im very excited .
well a good start for team tilly and tilly evo who qualified in the 4th fight through to round 2
Excellent show, really sorry we couldn't stay longer. Well done, a very good event under very difficult circumstances. Hope everything work out as well as it can.
Andy
team orr had a great weekend,
the new heavyweight rocks , in our first fight we punctured pucks left tire withour axe and then flipped it out the arena, then we pushed toxic 2 into th pit (how did that get back out btw? lol) and had a nice little tussle with iron awe 5, we had him on the ropes, almost flipping him out the arena (although i suspect he was going easy on us ;)) then we did a spectacular move, we were almost flipped out of the arena when ben fired the axe which knocked us back into the arena :) i think iron awe won overall but it was a moral victory for us :)
that was the only fight we got on the satarday but it blew us away, this machine is truly awsome :)
on sunday we arrived early, due to our hotel being only just down the road, we met some really cool guys, it was good to meet tom and calum for the first time :) we had some issues with our feather, and didnt get ittoo run in the first show, however, after much help from tom we got it working in the final featherweight wightboard. which ended with us in the pit after a run in with battle axe.
all of our fights, including our heavys fights from sunday will be up soon
jack
proud owner of orrion :)
Thanks to Robots Live for a great weekend despite being a few crew members down.
Well Done to Iron Awe 6 for winning the heavyweights and to Anticide for winning almost everything in the ants.
Also well done to Team Orr and Orrion for doing very well considering it was their first event with it!
Thanks again!
Just got in from this, for my first 'big' event I couldn't have asked for more really :) the vast majority of roboteers were welcoming and friendly, those that weren't I was too terrified to talk to :P and it's spurred me to get the featherweight done for Wigan so I can have a go in a big arena myself...many thanks to the RL crew for putting up with me and for organising a very good event given the lack of manpower, Dave Weston for making me feel a bit less nervous than I was ;P, Trevor for the regulator (I'll save that drive of MMM for some other time, heh) and everyone who was there for being generally super people.
...oh and it was a great event on the robotic fighting side of things :P flipping, axing, robots being thrown into the arena barriers at some speed, and some worthy winners.
Ok So a great event for Team Tilly
Well done to Robots Live
A great event for me as i became a roboteer again and had loads of fun like you guys normally do and had the time to spend on seeing how tilly evo ran and sort out the little problems i dont normally have time too ...
Then to come a very very close runner up to iron awe 6 ( well done guys ) ( next time ) :proud: :proud:
All in all a most enjoyable event
Thanks to the organisers for allowing the ants so much time on the big screen. We had loads of interest.
A most enjoyable weekend.

Well another great weekend draws to a close.A big thanks to the Robots Live crew a job well done under immense pressure.Congratulations to all the winners, some great fights in both weight classes.
We saved money this weekend by getting a free night in the Crown Plaza hotel, saved money by getting breakfast in thr Premier Inn and then blew it all on losing 4 Hawkers in 2 days. Oh well its only money.
Burnt a hole in my jeans with a soldering iron, much to the amusement of team Shock, thanks for lending it to me Ian.
See you at Maidstone (anybody got any Duracells?)
Just got back from unloading the vans and lorry after what appears to have been a very good event even if the crew were too busy to appreciate it. Well done to Iron Awe again and Aftershock for their wins. There was a huge roboteer turn out which is a very positive thing, including some up and coming younger teams especially the Orrion team, (btw Jack i you want any help with the pneumatics, i.e. prv just let me know).
Apocalypse had one fight and ended up in the pit, no surprise there. DB5 did ok just missing out on getting to the final due to a judges decision.
Finally a big thank you to all the teams that stayed behind at the end to help, we got out by 9, in what must be a new record take down time.
goodbye Weird Alice we will miss you  :(
What's happened to Weird Alice?
new one on its way :D
Weird Alice reincarnated?
Sounds good :)
HOPE THIS WORKS ................

Thanks to Robots Live for a great weekend, (I hope all the medical emergencies are soon resolved.) sorry we couldnt stay longer to finish getting the arena down. well impressed with the way it comes to pieces. Thanks as well for the trophy! We must be your most succesfull team ever!! we will soon need a bigger trophy room! Well done to Shane giving us a hard time in the heavyweight final and for doing such a great job driving Iron-Awe 6 in the final mellee.
Gilbert, Team Iron-Awe
Tried and failed to defend our reading title but thoroughly enjoyed the weekend all the same. Thanks to the robots live team.
Also if anyone has a copy of the 3rd place playoff, us vs Saint would like to see it, typical my tape ran out just before start.
Cheers.
Zac.
Thanks to the Robotslive crew for all their hard work and putting on a really enjoyable event. Iron-Awe 6 won its first competition after a tough fight with Tilly Evo in the final (well done guys!). Also, well done to Jack for some great driving with their new robot Orrion (Iron-Awe 4) I hope you guys get a lot of enjoyment from it in the future and inflict plenty of damage with the axe!

Well our last big event is over and I think i'll need until Whitwick to recover!
First of all a HUGE thanks to all those who pitched in and helped out setting up/during and taking down, and we drove the last van out of the venue bang on 9pm (ignoring the minor epic with the lost truck keys!) i wont do a list of names as i'm certain to forget someone but you all know who you are, but an extra thanks to Dave Weston and Ed Wallace as always.
I think we ended up with over a 100 robots at the event, shows we're still alive and kicking! Well done to our winners Iron Awe and Aftershock.
Ive got some videos that will go up sometime this week (I think i recorded both semis and the final, and a whiteboard).
Whitwick and Burgess Hill are booked for next year. We'll let you know when signups are open.
Alan
I added it up whilst I was there, including all the mechanoids, it was 107, 54 were ants though :)
