FRFFT: Series Two
Welcome to Fighting Robots Fan-Fiction Tournament: Series Two! Its only been a few months since Series One began and here we are!
To begin the new year, we have a featherweight battle will all real robots.
From England, Beauty 2!
Lewis entered this wedge robot with a Co2 powered flipper. The armour is made from Titanium and Plastic, which should hold up to some blows. But once the Co2 runs out, the flipper becomes useless!
From England, Firefly!
This featherweight version of heavyweight robot Firestorm was entered by Daniel. Just like its heavyweight counterpart, Firefly is armed with a Co2 powered flipper. Is it as powerful, though?
From England, Pillow Torque!
A box wedge with four wheels, Pillow Torque has the advantage of speed and power. Entered by AJ, this robot looks set to cause a few suprises. But how damaging can it be?
From England, Satanix!
Joey entered this wedge robot armed with spikes which should cause a few dents. It can run upside down, but the wheels are exposed to stronger attacks by the other robots!
Roboteers, stand by!
These four are new to the field.
3-2-1: Activate!
What a battle to start Series Two! Satanix on the left goes for Pillow Torque, but AJ turns to go for Firefly! It doesnt get underneath it, allowing Daniel to throw Pillow Torque onto its back. Pillow Torque is invertible, so that doesnt harm it. Satanix turns its attention to Beauty 2, who gets underneath and THROWS it across the floor! Satanix upside down, it tries to run away, but Beauty 2 catches up and flips it into the CPZ! Joey looks worried. Pillow Torque presses the pit release. Satanix escapes the CPZ and bumps into Firefly, pushing it into the wall. Beauty 2 is bashed by Pillow Torque and taken to the flame pit! Refbot looks on. All the robots are mobile. Satanix pushes Firefly into the corner of the CPZ. Daniel fires the flipper at thin air, thats a waste of Co2. Pillow Torque backs away and DRIVES straight up Refbot! It falls back the right way up, but gets flipped by Beauty 2 for its troubles! Satanix is just eying out who to go for next...but Firefly wants revenge and FLIPS it against the angle grinder. The crowd want destruction! Hopefully theyll get it. Satanix on the front of Firefly and its being pushed INTO the pit! Daniel laughs as Satanix falls in. Pillow Torque hits Beauty 2 from behind and pushes it into the angle grinder! Lewis tries to get away, but the wedge is stuck under the grinder. Pillow Torque keeps ramming it. The last ten seconds count down. Beauty 2 cant do anything. Firefly nudges it a few times, but gets pushed away by Pillow Torque into the wall across the way.
Cease!
What a battle. Satanix is out, but the other three were still mobile. Beauty 2 wasnt immobolised for 30 seconds, say the judges. Theyll make the decision. Its coming in now!

Having checked with Dave, Im pretty sure Fireflys weapon isnt pneumatic, it even says on the RR site its a linear actuator driven lifter.

Stupid FRA limiting their edit time to 10 minutes...SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THAT :angry:
THE EDIT: Just so I dont sound like a total arse, Ill tell you a few of the mistakes. One was the one Joey said above: Firefly has linear actuated weaponry, not pneumatic. The second was bots apparently escaping the CPZ with no mention of house robots. Third, the bots are so small, I doubt theyd get wedged underneath the angle grinder, and theyd simply pull away. Its the bigger boys that get wedged in there, like Bad Attitude the middleweight.
Sorry, but yeah. :P

FRFFT: Series Two
Last time, Beauty 2 and Satanix were defeated. Firefly and Pillow Torque went through to the next round.
Next, we have four middleweight robots.
From Wales, El Diablo Media!
Liam Elliot entered this Chaos II lookalike armed with a Co2 powered flipper! Will it be as successful as the real thing? Well wait and see. This is the reigning Middleweight champion!
From California in the USA, T-Minus!
Samuel and the boys from Interia Labs have returned from Series One. Armed with a powerful flipping arm, this machine won the Battlebots Series Five Middleweight Championships. The wheels are exposed, however.
From Liverpool, in England, Hard Cheese!
The Robot Wars Series Two Middleweight Champion, Hard Cheese had many weapons: a spike, an axe. Now, it has a Pussycat style spinning blade. Joey McC will hope to grate the opposition here.
From England, ROID!
The middleweight entrant from AJ. This robot has a simple design: a two wheel drive wedge. Being fast, itll outrun some of the dangerous robots. But what danger does it possess itself? Well see.
Liam wants to hold on to the title! The others want to take it off him!
3-2-1: Activate!
T-Minus makes the first move towards El Media Diablo, who gets around the side and tries to flip it over, but misses. Hard Cheese comes in and hits El Media Diablo with the sawblade. Liam gets away and goes after ROID, who has pressed the pit release button! OH! ROID flipped over. It can run upside down, though. AND WHAT was that! Hard Cheese crashes down onto its side after being flipped by T-Minus! El Media Diablo tries to get T-Minus from behind, but misses again! ROID smashes Hard Cheese back onto its wheels. Joey was lucky there. El Media Diablo gets under T-Minus and FLIPS it over! T-Minus self-rights and chases after the champion! Hard Cheese gives chase also. ROID pushes T-Minus from the side and shoves it into the wall! Hard Cheese hides behind the Refbot, but El Media Diablo catches up and FLIPS it over onto its side again! This time, Joey isnt going to get any help! ROID lets T-Minus go. Was that a mistake? AJ smashes into El Media Diablo again and pushes it towards the pit! Liam backs away. Refbot is counting out Hard Cheese. What a shame.
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10!
T-Minus comes in and HURLS Hard Cheese into the CPZ. Thats how powerful T-Minus is! The toy mouse falls off. Ha ha! ROID continues to scuffle with El Media Diablo. AJ pushes Liams robot into the wall, but El Media Diablo gets away and turns to get in a flip, but ROID is too fast! AND out goes Hard Cheese in the background! T-Minus, after being defeated last time, looks very strong! The last ten seconds count down! El Media Diablo flips ROID against the angle grinder. It drops down and tries to push El Media Diablo into the pit! Will it go in...NO! The judges will have to decide!
Cease!
Hard Cheese is grated! ROID, El Media Diablo and T-Minus are still standing. Well done to them. Im going to call the three teams out onto the podium whilst the judges make their decision.

The judges say ROID is out. Theres some controversy surrounding this, but El Media Diablo and T-Minus go through. Liam keeps the crown, but for how long?
Next time: the heavyweights make a return! Champion The Hurting takes on three newcomers. Joey is confident he can take them all on. We shall see.

Joey and Kody, I apologise for the mistakes in the first fight, about Firefly and any other featherweight robots I made. Hopefully, this fight was up to your expectations. Tell me if it isnt, and things will be done to improve it.

Better, but could use a bit more detail.
Team up, eh...for this fight Im going to go after The Hurting, wedge it, and try and shove it into Dervish. Keep doing it until one of them dies, then finish off the other. DONT use the flippers until Dervish is out of the picture. If Samuel wants to help out, hes more than welcome to, so dont attack Blue Hurricane unless he comes after me.

SLAM! ~ Fancy a team-up Andy? Those realies are no match for us, since The Judge is lighter than me and doesnt like flippers and Toro is about 50kg lighter than me, so I can throw him out with no problems
The ROC ~ Do my thing really, Im open for team-ups.
Son of Whyachi ~ eep! run away! spin!
Werewolf ~ Joeys tactics are pretty odd, seeming as he plans to rip hardox with a plough and twacking tail... :proud: So go for him if hes going for me unless you wanna teamup Joey?
Zero ~ Team-up Kody? both realies have weak armour, even if Kody doesnt want to team-up I will mash them with my disc. XD
Apocalypto ~ Sigh... realies... Flip. Them. Out. :proud:
System Shock ~ Open for team-ups here. Since Intrigous and Supreme are in there Ill employ my anti-axe cage with the disc on it and trash anyone that opposes moi. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA:proud:

Kody, there arent any house robots in FRFFT. I might have a surprise later!
In the pits, the heavyweight robots are waiting
to go into the arena. First, lets take a look at a featherweight entry: Firefly. Generally a smaller version of Firestorm, it has a linear actuator powered flipper. Daniel entered this robot. It has competed in Robot Wars Live Events
Back to the fight. The Hurting, the Heavyweight Champion, takes on three newcomers
From England, The Hurting
Joey McCs heavyweight robot The Hurting is armed with a powerful spinning disc, the energy provided from which powers a flipper. But once the disc is stopped, The Hurting might get hurt itself!
From Toronto in Canada, Wedgin8tor!
Wedgin8tor has two flippers: one on the top and one on the bottom. This means, should it be flipped, it can run inverted and still have a weapon! Kody seems to have covered all the bases here, but the wheels look a bit exposed!
From England, Blue Hurricane!
Samuel entered a good looking robot here. With a basic spinning ring design, Blue Hurricane hopes to sweep the opposition away! But when push comes to shove, with only two wheels, it has the disadvantage.
From Wales, Dervish: The Lee 7 Generation!
This machine looks like Robot Wars veteran Barberous 2nabit, but the spinning shell is protected by a boxy cage. The wheels are protected as well. Well built, but if the weapon becomes incapacitated, what else can it do?
Roboteers, stand by!
3-2-1: Activate!
Dervish decides to take Blue Hurricane first, sensing it is the weakest here. Wedgin8tor turns to face it first though, but misses the chance and...OUCH! Sparks fly from Dervishs spinning drum and Wedgin8tors top flipper has a gash in it! The Hurting comes in from the side and gives Kody another smack. Blue Hurricane hits Dervish on the wheel guard and something comes off there! A large piece of metal! Dervish attacks again and TOSSES Wedgin8tor over! The Hurting goes to press the pit release button, and smashes up the button in the process. Blue Hurricane strikes it on the back and almost bounces INTO THE PIT! That was close! Blue Hurricane gets away...right into Dervishs drum. OUCH! Sparks and chips of metal fly everywhere. Blue Hurricane almost thrown to one side. Wedgin8tor gets underneath the wheel guard and flips Dervish away! The Hurting collides with Dervish. Something goes flying across the arena then! The Hurtings disc has stopped and Dervish turns its attention on Joey! OH! The Hurting almost flipped over by the force of the impact. Blue Hurricane nudges it from behind and gets flipped by Wedgin8tor! The spinning ring is no longer functioning. What a fight this is! Another piece of metal goes flying across the arena! AND The Hurting is toppled by Wedgin8tor, who in turn is smacked silly by Dervish. Blue Hurricane is staying out of the way and wisely so! Dervish is like a mad thing out there! The Hurtings disc has stopped working for some reason, meaning the flipper cannot be used as a Srimech. Is the champion going out? Wedgin8tor seems to have stopped. Did the link come out after that hit? Blue Hurricane nudges Dervish on the side. Bad move...Ouch! Blue Hurricane gets a gash down the side. Wedgin8tor is moving on one side. The Hurting is definetly out! Refbot comes in to count it out. The reigning Heavyweight champion has met its match in Dervish. What a machine!
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10!
Dervish comes in to finish off The Hurting. Daniel has switched off the drum and is pushing The Hurting onto the drop zone! That looks like a bouy hanging up there!
3-2-1: DROP!
Down it comes! OHH! A dent is made on the bottom of The Hurting. Refbot takes a look at Wedgina8tor. The last ten seconds count down. Dervish is definetly going through. Blue Hurricane rams Wedgin8tor onto the flame pit. Kody seems confident! What a battle that was!
Cease!
The Hurting loses its crown and most of its dignity:proud:! Dervish, Blue Hurricane and Wedgin8tor are the survivors. Who will win. The judges will decide!

Im here in the pits. Samuel has told the judges Blue Hurricane took such a beating it might not be fixed in time. If not, Kody will take the spot!
For now though, it and Dervish are the winners of this fight. Well done!

Tactics:
Mad Dash: Team up with Liam, and crash into Supreme, and push it into the pit. Then, go for Intrigous.
Hazard: Trash El Diablo.
Blue Hurricane: Team up with Kody, and attack the Hurting.
Toro: Flip anyone who gets in my way out of the arena.
Ziggy: Same tactics as Toro.
Arrgh: Rip apart anyone who gets in my way.
Little Hitter: Werewolf seems like a good target. So hammer it into submission.

Anyway, since theres nothing else to do, heres the next fight!
Welcome back! Last time, Dervish mauled the opposition and won along with Blue Hurricane. Due to damage sustained during the fight, Blue Hurricane may not fight in Round 2. Kody doesnt want that to happen, even though he would take Samuels place. Sportsmanship all around then.
Four superheavyweights now. Dont blink, or you might miss it!
From California in the USA, Toro!
Defeated by Ziggy last time, Toro, entered by Samuel, hopes to go all the way with its Co2 powered flipper. The flipper has been unreliable before, though.
From California in the USA, The Judge!
Another American real robot, The Judges weapon is a large axe/hammer that can cause some damage. Paul entered it for this series. However, it has no srimech and has been unreliable in Battlebots in the past.
From Wales, SLAM!
Liam entered this 4WD box wedge. The weapon is a lifting arm, although it prefers to ram the other robots around. Its invertible, but the weapon doesnt work the other way around.
From England, Shovearound 2.0!
Another 4WD box wedge, entered by AJ. Shovearound is armed with Panic Attack style lifting forks to get a robot then drag it around. The forks arent usable if its flipped, though.
Roboteers, stand by!
3-2-1: Activate!
SLAM charges straight at Toro and rams it into the wall! Toro bounces off, avoiding a hit by The Judge, who turns around to go after it. Shovearound 2.0 bashes into Paul and starts to lift The Judge up with the lifting forks. SLAM breaks the pair up, toppling The Judge onto its side. Shovearound pushes The Judge onto its top. Toro comes in and flips The Judge back into its wheels, only to be pushed into the CPZ by SLAM! Liam is determined to get rid of it! Toro is lifted up and onto its side. The Judge whacks Toro with the axe, but Toro self-rights and turns on The Judge. It gets underneath AND throws The Judge out of the arena! That wasnt expected! The Judge is out, but SLAM isnt scared by that. It charges at Toro, but misses, allowing Toro to come around the side and FLIP it upside down! Shovearound pushes Toro from the side and starts to lift it up. Toro pushed onto its side! It self-rights, but is pushed onto the flame pit by SLAM! Shovearound presses the pit release button. Toro is being carried closer, but not into the pit! SLAM spares it and pushes it against the angle grinder! Toro escapes and gets revenge by HURLING Shovearound upside down! SLAM bumps into Toro and tries to push it away. Toro turns and flips SLAM the right way up. AJ slams into Liams robot and starts to push it towards the pit! Liam uses the lifter to flip himself away. Toro gets in from behind and pushes SLAM towards the pit! SLAMs wheels are off the ground, so Liam cant push back. Toro flips SLAM...INTO THE pit! What an end! Liam goes out! Toro, after a rocky start, comes back to claim victory along with Shovearound 2.0!
Cease!
The Judge gets put to death. SLAM is slammed!
Toro and Shovearound 2.0 go into the next round!

...I spared my opponent? Why?
And why didnt I self-right? and why did my flipper feebly tip robots onto their sides? and how would al my wheels be off the ground if Toro (who doesnt have a wedge) got under me? My back ones would sat on the ground and theres enough power there to outpush Toro easily.
That was very strange...

The judges noticed some discrepencies in the previous match. They have called for a rematch. Samuel, Liam, Paul and AJ all want it. The robots will start off where they originally were
3-2-1: Activate!
SLAM takes a change of tactics and smashes into The Judge! Toro breaks the pair up, but HURLS The Judge on its back! Shovearound 2.0 rams SLAM from behind and activates the lifting forks. The Judge self-rights and comes back on the attack of Toro. Samuel flips it over AGAIN! Shovearound carries SLAM over to the flame pit and lets it go! The Judge self-rights, but Toro flips it...not over again! The Judge SMACKS Toro with the axe, but Samuel is unfazed and instead charges for SLAM! OHH! SLAM is thrown onto its back, it self-rights with the lifting arm, but Toro crashes in again and pushes it towards the wall! Will SLAM go out...NO! Toro flipped it into the CPZ. Shovearound 2.0 presses the pit release button and is bumped by The Judge who strikes it with the axe. SLAM has escaped and gets under Toro! AND over it goes! Toro self-rights, but SLAM comes in again and pushes all the way INTO the pit! What a shock! Toro is out! SLAM turns around and pushes The Judge into the wall! The impact echoes through the arena, The Judge was flipped over in the process. It self-rights, but now its stuck on top of the angle grinder! SLAM comes in and helps it down, only for Shovearound to get underneath and lift it up! Paul fires the axe, trying to get away, but Shovearound directs it over to the pit! AJ goes full speed, but SLAM hits Shovearound from the side. The Judge topples over again and gets bashed by Shovearound again. Paul self-rights, but SLAM comes in from behind and SMACKS him into the wall once again! The Judge turns away and fires the axe at thin air. A cloud of Co2 purs out of The Judge, did that impact damage the Co2 canisters that power the axe? Shovearound gets the forks under once again and starts to lever it over! The axe of The Judge is stuck in the fired position. Its on its back, and I think Paul and Joshua Little have very little chance now! The Refbot comes in to count them out. They were beaten in the original match anyway, but they did well to stay in this long.
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10!
SLAM pushes The Judge onto the floor flipper. And away it goes! Crashing to the floor! Something comes off. I think it was the removable link! SLAM pushes it over the dropzone. The punishment isnt ending here! I can see what appears to be another bouy on the drop zone!
3-2-1: DROP!
OHH! The Judges armour has a large dent in it! Shovearound and SLAM push it towards the pit. Toro is taking up too much space, though!
Cease!
They wanted a rematch, and they got it! The Judge doesnt get off lightly this time, and Toro is put down!
SLAM and Shovearound 2.0 are the winners!

You should seriously follow tactics, ELLIOT. I specifically said not to use the flipper until Dervish was out of the picture, and how could the flipper gash from Dervishs weapon if it was closed? (Dervish has an egg-beater, not a drum by the way, the egg-beater much more violent weapon that sends bots flying instead of rips :P) Also, why did I attack Blue Hurricane? I specifically said not to attack it unless it attacked me in turn, and it didnt. Im not happy.

Everyone makes mistakes. Its still pretty early in the competition, cant you just start from scratch?
Wipe the slate clean, check peoples tactics, and start all over, Im sure the others wont mind.
