The Killer Toad Tournament Special
Meh, might as well...but youll be facing the largest, toughest, most powerful robot Ive got...
MEGA MASHER 2
Weight: 100 kilos
Body Shape: Minion with skirts.
Speed: 12mph
TC: 0
GC; 0 at front, 1mm at sides due to skirts, 10mm underneath.
Wheels; 4 inner.
Armour: A nice 3.25mm Hardox
Power: 3x 12v batteries, plus Bosch 750s at 36v.
Colour: Red and yellow.
Weapons; The front is a wedge, and the back has a nasty vertical disc, powered by its own LEM130 motor and spinning at 2000 rpm. It can probably flip as well as damage. A side Minion style bar, pneumatic CO2 powered, comes out from the side.
Srimech: The aforementioned bar rights the robot, even though it can run inverted.
Inspiration; This is probably the only robot I have where I have had no inspiration. It just came as a good name.
Strengths: Power, weaponary
Weaknessess: A little bulky, not as heavy as the body would suggest.

2: Mega Masher has taken on SoR X...twice, and taken minimal damage. Your drum is too high for that.
3+4: Youre talking as if youre fighting a regular robot. Youre seriously not. Were going to meet scoop-to-wedge, cancel each other out, and itll be whoever gets under who.

Questions about the 6isc
Is the disc mounted onto the main axle?
How is the disc driven (chain/belt/direct gearing?)
Are the wheels protected from a lucky front on attack?
In the picture, there looks like a gap in between the 2 semi-circular wheel protectors, is this true oris the gap filled?
How are the wheels driven?
What voltage do you run the disc motor at?

Can the drum run in reverse if you end up on your back?
How is the drum driven (chain/belt etc?)

Are the teeth a part of the flywheel (like 6isc)?
How is the disc driven with both motors?

Is the disc mounted onto the main axle?
Are we talking about the hardox bar part here? If so, not directly, its mounted onto the outer axle, which is mostly mounted onto the inner wheel hubs and theyre mounted to the main axle:proud:
How is the disc driven (chain/belt/direct gearing?)
Direct gearing
Are the wheels protected from a lucky front on attack?
That would be impossible while maintaining proper invertability, so no.
In the picture, there looks like a gap in between the 2 semi-circular wheel protectors, is this true oris the gap filled?
The gap isnt filled.
How are the wheels driven?
Dirtect gearing.
What voltage do you run the disc motor at?
Thought Id put this in the stats, sorry. 36 V
May Tracks will gladly take on Nitrogene again.

The Killer Toad Tournament Special
Super - I think its about time I got vengence - time is kick some bot! :proud:
Nitro-Gene 4.0 vs. The May Tracks Has You: The thing about May Tracks is it has only 6hp in its drive, as it has 2 LEM130s at 24V = 3hp each. I have 4 LEM130s at 36V = 9hp each, making 36hp overall. But hes tracked and Ive got Vulkanised Wheels, and although Im not sure about the track treads, I know he has greater traction than me, so a frontal attack wont work, has he may get under, but if I get desperate, attack the front, and hope Im fast enough for ram him and get under, or drive fast enough so he cant spike my tyres.
My main side of attack is the rear, as I should be fast enough to get around the back, and if I ram him in a straight line into the wall, it should be enough for me to get right under and just FLIP!
The sides are an option, but the front, unless desperate, isnt an option.
If he gets under, flip before he gets a chance to reverse, as that will produce a massive amount of air-time for me to just fly of the wedge, and escape the spikes. Chances of me escaping the spikes are slim, but they may just work!
Good luck Frank
-
The Killer Toad Tournament Special
Problem from a driving standpoint is you cant attack the rear of a machine without telegraphing your intent. Its a lot easier to avoid a rear attack than it is to perform one.
Youre still a bit motor-stat obsessed Paul. HP only really matters for rammers. I dont intend to be under Nitro-Gene long enough to do some serious pushing, and even if I did want to push you around your HP would be irrelevent because your wheels would not be on the ground.
Anyway, tactics are to try and punch under Nitros skirts at the corners and do some flippage. Biohazards been gotten under before, so Nitro-Gene can be too.
Have fun giving yourself air time and shock damage by the way Paul:wink:
Best of luck

The Killer Toad Tournament Special
Systematical Shockerlarity vs. Achilles
And so the grudge matches kick off, not with Slammer vs. the 6isc, but with Systematical Shockerlarity against Achilles.
The first robot to walk into the arena is Systematical Shockerlarity, coming fitted with shuffler feet, powered by some B42€™s, the weapon on Systematical Shockerlarity is a front mounted spinning drum, taking up nearly all the width of the front and powered by a Lem. It can run in reverse and I have been reliability informed that the drum likes to eat water-melons for breakfast. The drum is mounted above a front wedge, to feed robots into the drum, and the sides are protected with some skirts. The rear is exposed, but a top speed of 20 mph; it will take luck to expose that exposed rear end.
The 2nd robot to be wheeled into the arena is Achilles; Alex€™s machine today is using the pneumatic set-up, giving the front flipper some flips. Achilles is a low lean mean fat-reducing flipping machine whose drive comes from some Eteks motors running at 48 volts, the armour is 5mm titanium, with some rubber on the top, the flipper is Hardox, the 4 wheel drive will give the machine some lovely handling and with a top speed of 18 mph, it€™s not that far behind Systematical Shockerlarity, but the wheels against the shuffler pads should give Achilles the advantage. The skirts are protected by some steel skirts, which should give some protection, and again the rear is exposed.
The 3rd robot into the arena toward is Remy, the Ref for the match, sporting several cameras to get close up pictures, and a claw to break apart robots if they get stuck together. After 5 minutes if there is no clear winner, the judge will be called in to determine the winner, but seeing as these are standalone grudge matches, the judge might call the match a draw. Stacking against the arena wall can be used as a possible means to technically knock out (TKO) a robot, so can a flip out of the arena to hit one of the many targets possible, or maybe the pit which is always open, or maybe for the knock-out just beat the other robot into submission so that it doesn€™t work anymore.
So the basic rules have been explained, all fighting must be done in the arena etc.
Liam is in the first control booth, Alex is in the second control booth, as the lights go down as the audience is played a short video clip of the previous battles between these two robots, plus some rather interesting interviews, as the lights go up, the crowd are silent, ready for some action between a drum and a flipper.

Straight away Systematical Shockerlarity is away, following the green light from Remy. Achilles is also away, looking for some quick flips to pile up the points, as Systematical Shockerlarity dodges the front end of Achilles, as Alex also dodges the front end of Systematical Shockerlarity, as both robots return to square one, before spinning around ready to attack once more, as both robots are heading towards each other, the shuffling pads of Systematical Shockerlarity ripping up the soft arena floor as it moves away, Achilles is ready and manages to dodge out of the way of Systematical Shockerlarity€™s frontal drumage and tries to launch an attack onto the sides, trying to breach those 5mm titanium skirts.
Systematical Shockerlarity turns around to prevent Achilles from getting underground and gets first blood, with a blow from the drum onto the frontal area of Achilles, placing a couple rather nasty looking scars into the Hardox, as Systematical Shockerlarity pushes forward forcing Alex into a retreat, spinning around and getting away from Systematical Shockerlarity, by dodging and diving, using the advantages of wheels against the shuffler pads. Achilles spins around and launches into another attack onto Systematical Shockerlarity, and manages to trick Liam into diving the wrong way and hits the side skirts.
The skirts hold out as the front spatula goes up the side skirts, giving Systematical Shockerlarity time to spin around and launch into a side-on attack, the drum ripping away the side skirts of Achilles, and manages to lift the side of Achilles up with the air, as the flipper fires to send Achilles away from Systematical Shockerlarity, as Liam isn€™t holding up, having tasted damage, he wants more, as Alex gives counter-attack, as both robots meet head-on, slamming together, the two wedges meet, as Achilles goes up the front wedge, and straight into the drum. The added weight over the front end of Systematical Shockerlarity makes getting underneath it hard, as Achilles is thrown away by the power of the drum, as Alex tries to self-right out of the way of Systematical Shockerlarity, Systematical Shockerlarity slams into Achilles side-on again, sending Achilles into a spin as the remaining skirt flies off. Achilles lands onto its wheels and is away, away from Systematical Shockerlarity.
Liam makes another attack, but Achilles manages to counter-dodge the attack, as Alex launches into a quick successive attack onto Systematical Shockerlarity, as Liam dodges, but Alex has another plan and another successive attack catches Systematical Shockerlarity off guard as the front end of Achilles manages to breach the side skirts coming from an angle, as the flipper fires, sending Systematical Shockerlarity over. Achilles quickly comes back onto the attack, before the drum can be reverse as Liam drives around looking for something to ram into with the drum to stop it spinning so that he can spin it up again, as the energy levels in the drum means he can€™t simply spin the motor the other way around without risk of damage to the drum drive system. Achilles launches into an attack, as Systematical Shockerlarity spins around to dodge the attack, the drum now spinning the correct direction, but the sides of Systematical Shockerlarity are now exposed, as the skirts hang limp, hanging by the side of Systematical Shockerlarity, as Alex spins around and comes back onto the attack.
The arena floor is looking a right royal mess, as the shuffler pads dig in to get grip, as Achilles rams into Systematical Shockerlarity head-on, the front wedge getting underneath the drum, with some damage to the front flipper plate, as the rubber is peeled away, but to Alex this doesn€™t matter as the shuffler pads are lifted from the ground as he points controls to the heart of the arena fence and with a few metres to go launches the flipper, sending Systematical Shockerlarity into a spin, smashing the machine disc first into one of the soft-wooden targets which as predicted crumbles without giving any resistance as Systematical Shockerlarity falls down onto the camera tracks.
Cease
Systematical Shockerlarity flipped out of the arena, wooden target is destroyed, and Achilles wins this match.

The Killer Toad Tournament Special
Mega Masher 2 vs. Mad Dash
So it€™s time for the 2nd fight in the series of 7 grudge matches, this time it is the battle between Mega Masher the 2nd and Mad Dash.
The first robot into the arena today is Mega Masher 2, this Minion look-a-side with side skirts plus it has 4 wheel drive. The front has a wedge and there is a rear mounted vertical disc. The armour is Hardox, plus the 4 wheel drive is powered by some Bosch 750€™s at 36 volts. The top speed is limited to 12 mph, and the sides are protected by skirts, protecting the 10mm ground clearance, however the skirts only protect the sides down to 1mm, to aid manoeuvrability, however the rear end is exposed with 10mm, and as the rear end also contains the spinning disc which is powered by it€™s own Lem 130 giving it quite a bit of damaging potential, or DP as I like to call it.
The 2nd robot into the arena today is Mad Dash, which is an invertible box with front scoop combo, twinned with a nasty looking small drum half-buried in the scoop itself, the main power comes from the drive system, mixing 4 wheel drive with 2 Lem 130€™s for drive. The front armour is 5mm Hardox, but it looks like the remaining armour is titanium, which should hold out unless it comes up against a vertical spinner, oh dear. The ground clearance is 0mm at the scoop and 6mm everywhere else, and with a top speed of 20mph, it has the power to out-run Mega Masher, but does it have the control?
The 3rd robot into the arena today is Remy, everybody€™s favourite* ref robot (in a survey, 3 people were asked what their favourite ref robot was, and Remy came out top by all 3 people).
Everybody is ready for a royal rumble, as the lights come down, and the action begins

The green light is showing on Remy, as she reverses to allow both Mad Dash and Mega Masher out, and both robots come storming out of the starting squares, scoop against the wedge, as both are heading towards each other, the crowd are waiting for a dodge by either team, but the dodge doesn€™t come as both robots slam into each other, as the slightly lower front scoop with the weight of the drum pushing the front down against Mega Masher€™s whose rear spinning disc doesn€™t act in it€™s favour, as Mad Dash is underneath Mega Masher, as the drum sparks against the Hardox wedge, causing no damage, but the wheels of Mega Masher are spinning as they try to get a grip, but Mad Dash slams Mega Masher at top speed towards the nearest arena wall.
Bang
Mad Dash drops Mega Masher and drives away looking for the next attack, as Mega Masher comes away, the rear spinning disc has taken quite a bit of damage and has actually bent, having the force put onto it. Mad Dash spins and drives towards Mega Masher. Chris dodges, as Samuel spins the controls around and comes back onto the attack, ramming into the side of Mega Masher and pushing Mega Masher sideways before dumping it into the pit.
Cease
In a battle of Wedge vs. Scoop, the scoop came out on top and Mega Masher ended up in the pits. Mad Dash dashes its way to victory.

The Killer Toad Tournament Special
Spin Dash Unleashed vs. SOR X
So it€™s time for one of the longest grudges around, the Spin Dash series of robots against the Ripper series of robots, with countless battles fought. But both have been rebuilt, and both come with something new.
First up SOR X, the 10th version of Son of Ripper (although whatever happened to SOR VI, VII, VIII or IX I don€™t know), and it€™s a massive change to the flipper €˜n€™ spinner combo, out goes the rear spinning disc, in comes a rear X-axis spinning rim, out goes the CO2 for the flipper, in comes a kinetic flipper, powered by the rear spinning rim. AJ says it has €˜unlimited€™ flips, which is true, until the spinning rim no-longer spins either due to damage or due to the batteries failing, this might be a weakness in long battles to the death against heavily armoured tanks, but in a 5 minute battle it should last. From what I can tell most of the batteries and motors and stuff are held within the spinning rim for added protection, with just the attached front wedge and flipper outside the rim. SOR X is a low mean machine designed for damage.
The 2nd robot into the arena is Spin Dash Unleashed, where the changes are under the skin, the drive is now 2 Lem motors at 36 volts to give a Storm 2 style drive, with the spinning saw blade still mounted on the base of the front to rip up tyres powered by a S28. However the weakness of this system is that the saw blade is exposed to damage both from wedges and from the arena floor, the sides and rear are protected by skirts and the front is protected by the saw.
Both robots are in the arena as the video is shown showing all the highlights from previous battles
*several hours later*

The start has shocked both Steve and Andy who were starting to fall asleep, but both are awaken, as the rear spinning rim of SOR X starts spinning up to power up enough juice for the flipper to fire, Spin Dash Unleashed options are a bit limited, the wheels of SOR X being protected by a spinning rim, and even though both machines have the same top speed, SOR X has 2 wheels compared to Spin Dash Unleashed who has 6 wheels, as Steven holds back thinking of a plan which will have the highest chance of victory.
Meanwhile SOR X is spinning away, as Andy spinning around so that the wedge is facing away from Spin Dash Unleashed and starts to reverse, looking to get a strike onto the sides of Spin Dash Unleashed where the Hardox armour might prove a bit tough, those skirts look quite tasty to munch on, AJ starts moving towards Spin Dash Unleashed as Steven still thinking of something to do drives away from SOR X, but the problem with SOR X is that it has 360 protection, jointly with the rear spinning rim and frontal flipper which makes up most of the frontal wedge, as SOR X spins around and starts driving towards Spin Dash Unleashed with the flipper pointing first.
Steve tries to dodge, but has to narrowly avoid dodging straight into the pit, as SOR X€™s front wedge introduces itself to Spin Dash Unleashed€™s saw blade. Sparks fly as saw blade hits Hardox as the flipper fires, sending Spin Dash Unleashed over onto it€™s back, the saw blade taking quite a lot of the energy as it spins, slightly bend, but it€™s still spinning, but now the skirts are hanging limp and the rear spinning rim of SOR X is back up-to speed. Andy doesn€™t have to worry about the spinning saw of Spin Dash Unleashed, as the highest point of SOR X is 125mm off the ground, where the saw blade now on top of Spin Dash Unleashed is about 200mm off the ground, take one away from the other and Steven looks worried, very worried as he dodges an attack from SOR X, as Andy wants blood.
Another dodge from Spin Dash Unleashed, as the saw blade has stopped on Spin Dash Unleashed, whenever this is down to damage or down to the fact that Steve wants to save battery power is yet to be seen, as Steve has to dodge again, but Andy launches into a counter attack spinning around as the spinning rim hits into Spin Dash Unleashed. SOR X is sent one way and Spin Dash Unleashed is sent in two ways, as a skirt embeds itself into the arena fence, Spin Dash Unleashed slams into the other arena fence, as SOR X is back onto the attack and manages to hit into Spin Dash Unleashed again, as another skirt is ripped away and a large cut appears in the Hardox where the Hardox teeth on the rim of SOR X hit it at near-full speed. SOR X rams into Spin Dash Unleashed again, sending Spin Dash Unleashed into the wall at some speed.
SOR X spins around and drives into Spin Dash Unleashed with the wedge front and without much trouble punches Spin Dash Unleashed out of the arena and though the 40 point target sending soft wood everywhere, as Spin Dash Unleashed lands onto the tracks which once held cameras, but all the cameras were damaged beyond repair, so much so that the company where the cameras were hired from, put us onto a black list so we can€™t hire anymore cameras.
Cease
Spin Dash Unleashed was outclassed by SOR X and was put over the fence to save it getting more damaged.

Supreme Glory Omega vs. Knyfe

The Killer Toad Tournament Special
Fight the fourth
Supreme Glory Omega vs. Knyfe
Right then it€™s time for the 4th fight, between Danny and Paul, so let€™s begin with the thirteen gliding principles
The first robot into the arena today is the cleaning robot, as it quickly runs around the arena making sure the surface is free of any loose stuff, as the cleaning robot exits the arena, Supreme Glory Omega enters. Supreme Glory Omega is a box on wheels with skirts on all 4 sides to protect its sides from attack, no-body really knows what the ground clearance is underneath the skirts, but shall we assume it€™s a reasonable 5mm. The main weapon is a powerful axe on a rack and piston system, with an axe head which I€™m told looks like Excalibur from series 3, however owing to a lack of a picture found after 15 minutes of searching on Google, I shall have to try and describe it from the description given, it€™s an axe with the head with a singular sharp point designed to focus all the energy down that point, in addition it has another point on the reverse so that it can attack from the front or from the rear. To help the robot stay on the ground during fighting, there is a vacuum system underneath Supreme Glory Omega to suck it to the floor, also useful when fighting against rammers and flippers, up until the point where a wedge breaks the vacuum seal. With 2 wheels, Supreme Glory Omega is manoeuvrable, and with a top speed of 18 mph, its fast, however the main armour is plastic, so against a high powerful spinner, it could end up spread across the arena, so let€™s see what robot Supreme Glory Omega is up against?
The 2nd robot into the arena today is Knyfe, this multiple-choice weapon machine has decided to pick for some static front forks, starting off at 8mm thick at base, and running rather thin at the ends, designed to slide underneath other robots skirts so that the, in theory, 50 horsepower can slam the other robot around the arena, using it€™s Lem 200 motors and 6 wheels, the sides and rear are protected by skirts, and also with triangular sections running to a point. However with so much power on tap, will it just spin its wheels when attempting to put all that power down at once? Also there isn€™t much of a gap between the top €˜n€™ bottom plates with the Lem 200 motors which are rather thick at 20cm tall, so a lucky hit with an axe could cause problems with overheating of the motors if they can€™t get enough air though. Hopefully the Hardox armour will be enough to protect the robot, but the titanium base plate could be a weakness if Knyfe comes up against an axe €˜n€™ flipper combo.
And now, as Remy enters the arena, the fences go up, as the countdown begins

Activate
Knyfe hasn€™t spun its wheels out trying to pull away as it puts down the power punching it€™s way up-to 20mph, as Supreme Glory Omega dodges the first attack with ease as Knyfe comes at Daniel€™s robot like a train on a fixed track, as Supreme Glory Omega spins around, and so does Knyfe, as it takes a long arc to return at speed, but all the speed in the world doesn€™t mean a thing as Supreme Glory Omega dodges the 2nd running attack, with the front forks trying to get underneath the skirts. Another long arc and yet another running attack from Paul, as he hopes Dan will make a mistake, but being around for ages, Dan has managed to master his controls and dodges Knyfe€™s attack.
However, Knyfe is away, so that Supreme Glory Omega can€™t turn around and try to put a hole or two in the top armour, or at least cause some damage, as Knyfe has another running attack as Supreme Glory Omega who simply dodges the attack. And this would happen for a 5th time if only for Paul to pull away suddenly as Knyfe was heading towards the pit, this gives Dan a chance at an attack, but before Supreme Glory Omega comes within axe-fighting range, Knyfe has dodged away, before spinning around and comes in for a side attack. Supreme Glory Omega spins around, but holds its position, Dan flicking the switch to turn on the vacuums as Supreme Glory Omega is sucked to the ground.
Crash
Both robots have met each other, and with 2 axe blows, blowing into the top of Knyfe, making a rather ugly looking dent in the top of Knyfe, Paul spins away, unable to get his front forks underneath the skirts of Supreme Glory Omega from that attack. Supreme Glory Omega gives chase, as Knyfe spins around and comes back towards Supreme Glory Omega with speed and manages to get underneath the front skirt, but not before Supreme Glory Omega lands a blow, as the spike of the axe finds the front wheel of Knyfe, slicing the vulkanised wheel like it was made out of wood, the axe comes back and Supreme Glory Omega manages to make an escape, with Knyfe€™s damaged wheel spinning away, throwing itself apart as Knyfe pulls to the right, as 3 driven wheels against 2 driven wheels, as Paul is looking worried.
Supreme Glory Omega spins around and comes back towards Knyfe, Paul manages to dodge, but Dan spinning around on the wheels comes back as Knyfe narrowly dodges the attack, but Supreme Glory Omega spins around once more and attacks Knyfe from the rear end, the axe firing backwards, the spike narrowly avoiding another wheel, but slicing down into the gap between wheel and chassis, as Knyfe pulls forward managing to pull Supreme Glory Omega backwards a bit, but a loud snapping noise is heard as the axe arm drops a bit further into the wheel gap. Supreme Glory Omega€™s wheels are spinning as it tries to pull Knyfe, but Paul puts on the power manages to escape the axe grip and pulls away, pulling madly to the right, as only the centre wheel is working on the right hand side, as the rear wheel is hanging limp, the snapping noise coming from the drive system as the chain snapped, as Supreme Glory Omega pulls around and moves back towards Knyfe. Knyfe has to be careful not to put too much power down as the 3 wheels on the left hand side against the 1 wheel on the right hand side gives the robot very bad handling, as Supreme Glory Omega slams into the rear end, riding the rear skirt as the axe fires.
Supreme Glory Omega hops around as the axe hits, the rear skirt of Knyfe breaking the vacuum seal, as Knyfe slams into reverse a snapping noise is heard as Knyfe tries to push Supreme Glory Omega backwards, Supreme Glory Omega€™s wheels are spinning on the arena surface trying to get grip before suddenly they get grip, sending Supreme Glory Omega backwards away from Knyfe and straight down the pit.
Cease
Knyfe manages to pull some sort of victory out of the hat when facing the jaws of defeat as Supreme Glory Omega ends up 4 feet underground. However the judge isn€™t happy and asks Knyfe to move to prove that it€™s still moving, as Knyfe goes around in a rather lovely circular arc, the right hand side dead, the snapping noise coming from the drive system, on closer inspection the broken chain from the front wheel which got destroyed early on snapped backwards within the robot and managed to pull something out to knock out the right hand side.
However as Supreme Glory Omega€™s mistake pitting itself when trying to get away from Knyfe in vain happened within 30 seconds of the right hand side of Knyfe dying, the judge awards the battle to Knyfe as a chorus of boos echo thought-out the arena.
The next battle will be the big one, not Slammer vs. The 6isc, nor May Tracks vs. Nitro-Gene, but Tira IV & Fling & Knyfe vs. Trojan/Virus/Worm & Fairground Killride & Woody.
However a quick visit to the pits sees Paul repairing Knyfe€™s drive and hammering out the debts, but where€™s Woody, as the cameras zoom to the test arena to see the compact base of Woody on its side, power cut as the team are trying to repair something without much luck, and gives in the white flag before the fight
Therefore fight 5 will be Tira IV & Fling & Knyfe vs. Trojan/Virus/Worm & Fairground Killride, a 3 on 2 fight, seems fair to everybody apart from Timmy and Mark who raised nothing in reply to the question, as Kody looks on sad, knowing that he can€™t destroy the soft wood cover of Woody, and goes off with a file to make the blades of Tira 4 even more sharper.
*gets ready for the backlash*

Youre just a bit upset you dont have a wooden robot to play with.

Also I think I know what the weapon on Fairground killride is supposed to do, it goes up reverse up-to an angle like 60 degree or so before being released with power swinging down and out the other side, hitting into stuff. Although as Lord Timmy isnt around anymore, he cant explain how it works
