Tactics will come when relevant.
Heat A
Pussycat (9) VS Brutus Maximus VS Twister VS Roobarb
Guess. :P
Vader VS M2 VS Tiberius 3 VS Hot Sauce
Ouch, poor Chez is put in with some quality robots here, however Im going to go with it and Tiberius 3 to go through.
Argh, I had to get the heat of death, didnt I? :proud:
Shredder Evolution vs. Trax vs. EYE OF RAN vs. Steel Avenger
My tactics here are to go for Shredder Evolution first - Steel Avenger doesnt pose much threat to my Hardox top with the axe, and I doubt the lifter could flip me, but Shredder does. (I am avoiding Trax because a) it poses the greatest threat to me and b) I am assuming Shane, being a nice person, would be up to teaming with me) I shall spin up the blade, using the rear wedge to keep people at bay, and go for Shredders wheels and generally batter it into submission, not using the blade at ridiculous power but enough to throw it a bit. Once Shredder is dealt with, and assuming Trax hasnt thrown SA OOTA or anything, I shall go for SAs sides, and generally rip it into submission. I shall not attack Trax, unless it attacks me deliberately, in which case I rip off its tracks.
In short: Team with Trax, take on Shredder first, then SA.
Good luck to everyone :)
Drat.... my plan of going round one robot one to override the seed failed....
Ive not really got a clue what any of the robots in my fight are like in these incarnations, so Ill have to get back to you once I know, but by default go for my vertical jaws setup and attack whomever looks like the easiest target.

Tactix: Gang up with Scorpion. Go crazy on IG-88 while Scorpion handles the Stag.
(Message edited by samuel3764 on June 26, 2008)
tictocs: Flip any robot close to the walls oota.
HEAT K: Paul (MEEEEE! :proud:)
Bulldog Breed (12) VS Mantis VS Infernal Contraption VS Jabber - We know this already :proud:
Heyght VS T-Wrecks VS Kat 3 VS Velocirippa - I think, personally, this is a fantastic first round for Heyght! All of them, except for Kat, have high-ground clearances, so go first for Velocirippa, push it to the edge and flip it out, then target Kat, as T-Wrecks doesnt really scare me, but Id like to get rid of Kat.
Pitty mk2 wasnt in that one. :)
Get ready for a mega-detailed battle, guys! :proud:
HEAT A: ROUND ONE
Pussycat (9) VS Brutus Maximus VS Twister VS Roobarb
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_4BdxZANoYhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_4BdxZANoY
So detailed you can practically visualise it! :proud:
Vader VS M2 VS Tiberius 3 VS Hot Sauce will be done later tonight. :)
Nice fight Dan!
In melee 2 I reckon Hot Sauce will go through, possibly with M2. This is a very competitive match though.
sounds good plan to me joey i will gladly team up. steel avenger holds no threat to trax but shredder might do thi the polypropolene armour on the sides is 12mm and absorbes loads. will try and get rid of steel avenger and you can do the honours and dispose of shredder. who ever does the deed first will help the other.
Tactics: To keep flipping. XD
Stuff the above please. Revised tactics: Id like Hot Sauce to go straight for Vader and flip the hell out of him.
Yay 100 posts! :D
Go for corkscrew first - the way the disc is set up is practically designed for a slamming so vertical claws setup. Fortunatly for me, I seem to have replaced the most dangerous machine in the fight, so after corkscrew is disposed of whichever of the other two seems to be the most vulnerable target.
Youre not getting away with that for Heat B. We expect Terrorhurtz to be working properly, unlike its S7 appearance.
Something tells me Jackson Wallop will be safe :proud:
lol martijn, I was just clarifying that he use the stats from the site. You didnt do anything wrong :P
Are you ready for metal fighting mayhem?? :proud:
HEAT A: ROUND ONE
Vader VS M2 VS Tiberius 3 VS Hot Sauce
From Totton, in Hampshire, M2!
This newcomer to Robot Wars is not to be overlooked: a full pressure CO2 powered flipper and rollover wedge design makes this robot look formidable, but with Polycarb armour and a lack of House Robot experience, will M2 end up back on the motorway?
From East Sussex, Tiberius 3!
The Robot Wars University Challenge champions are back again with a huge crushing weapon similar to previous champion, Razer. The front wedge can get underneath robots relatively easily, but with a slow srimech will Tiberius be able to Rome around the arena once again?
From Manchester, Hot Sauce!
A low, sleek wedged design: this newcomer is sure to turn some heads. A powerful front hinged flipper and the ability to self right will ensure that it can attack well, but with a limited CO2 supply on board and a 1cm ground clearance at the back, will Hot Sauce add some spice to the arena?
From Essex, Vader!
Vader€™s back again with that huge 10kg vertical spinning disc and ramming spikes at the front. Armoured in 12mm Polycarbonate and powered by 2 x 800w electric motors, Vader€™s a dark horse in this fight. But with only 2WD and no srimech, will Vader have the force?
Booth One - Chezza and Sam Smith (Tiberius 3)
Booth Two - Paul Cooper (M2) and Simon Latham (Vader)
House Robots - Shunt and Sgt Bash.
3€¦2€¦1€¦ACTVATE!
Commercial Break! Battle up soon! :proud:
The battle gets underway and immediately M2 gets underneath Vader and flips it into the air, the high ground clearance clearly exploited by the newcomer. Luckily for Simon Latham, Vader is not overturned, and lands back on the arena floor with a huge thud. Hot Sauce comes in on the attack, sensing that Vader is probably the more destructive robot in this heat, and tries to get underneath Vader. Tiberius slams into the side of Hot Sauce, and tries to bring the hydraulic crusher into play, but Chezza senses danger and quickly manoeuvres Hot Sauce out of harms way. M2 quickly drives around and flips Tiberius over, the crusher from East Sussex doing somersaults as it lands on its back. Hot Sauce continues its attack on Vader, with the latter managing to clout the front hinged flipper-bot with the vertical spinner. Hot Sauce€™s 5mm Hardox armouring, however, is barely affected, as it manages to get underneath the side of Vader and drives it into Shunt€™s CPZ. A flip by Hot Sauce puts Vader on its side, before Shunt drives in aggressively and slams into Vader just enough to right it. M2 and Tiberius - who managed to self right with no problems - play cat and mouse in the centre of the arena, with M2 bearing down upon Tiberius, looking to get underneath the ground clearance. Vader gets a whack from Shunt€™s axe, which manages to go through the 12mm Polycarbonate, and replies by giving Shunt a thwack with the disc! Shunt€™s scoop now has a huge slice running through it, and before he can retaliate Vader hurries out of the CPZ. Hot Sauce drives across the arena, avoiding M2 and Tiberius - the latter recovering from another large flip - and slams into the pit release button. The pit descends and Vader slams into M2, and Paul Cooper winces as the Polycarb armourn on M2 is sliced like butter. Tiberius continues to attack M2, and manages to get underneath the ground clearance. The crusher slowly comes down as M2 frantically tries to get away, even a slam by Hot Sauce is not enough to free the trapped flipper. Sam Smith carefully drives towards the pit, as Vader slams the front spikes into Hot Sauce and uses the momentum to slam Chezza€™s robot into the arena wall. Paul Cooper can do nothing as M2 unwillingly finds itself nearer and nearer oblivion. The Razer-esque beak of Tiberius opens slowly, as M2 plummets in a cloud of smoke out of the battle and out of the tournament, leaving 3 robots fighting for only 2 places. Hot Sauce drives in underneath Tiberius and flips it, but luckily for Sam Smith Tiberius rolls over back onto its wheels. Vader, in a moment of madness methinks, drives into the CPZ of Sgt Bash, clipping the arena side wall and destroying the Perspex, it shattering into huge shards! Simon Latham regains his composure and drives back towards the centre of the arena, where Tiberius has managed to get underneath Hot Sauce€™s ground clearance and is about to bring the crusher into play. Vader slams into the side of the East Sussex robot. The impact causes both Hot Sauce - who was nearly in Tiberius€™ full grip - and Tiberius onto their sides. Hot Sauce immediately self rights, using that front hinged flipper to good effect. Tiberius, on the other hand, does not seem to be moving. The wheels are spinning, but the crusher does not seem to be operating. Hot Sauce backs away and gets another slam in on Vader, who seemed to be dawdling itself. Vader is slammed into the arena side wall, as a strange puddle begins to appear underneath Tiberius€¦ the hydraulics ram has been ruptured! Refbot comes in and counts Tiberius out, as Hot Sauce and Vader continue to fight near the flame pit.
CEASE
M2 pitted and Tiberius rendered immobile!
Hot Sauce and Vader go through to round 2!
HEAT A: ROUND TWO
Pussycat (9) VS Vader
Hot Sauce VS Roobarb
Tactics? Predictions? What did you think of Round 1? :)
Tactics? Nah.
Predictions? Sure.
Pussycat (9) VS Vader
Tough. Pussycats wheels, though exposed, have yet to be destroyed by a good spinner, but it cant exploit Vaders lack of a srimech. Ill give this slightly to Vader.
Hot Sauce VS Roobarb
Oh dear, another tough fight. This I think will go in the direction of whoever gets under the other the best. Roobarb doesnt look low enough, really, so Hot Sauce will probably edge it.
What did you think of Round 1? Wooty. :proud:
Predictions:
Pussycat will be battered and KOed by Vader
Roobarb will be pitted by Hot Sauce
Very good battle, Dan, even if the build up was somewhat tortuous :proud:
quote:
Youre not getting away with that for Heat B. We expect Terrorhurtz to be working properly, unlike its S7 appearance.
Youre going to have a long wait, then. :proud:
Nice, great start to the tournament!
«Pussycat vs. Vader»
Tough, but I reckon Vader can do the job here.
«Hot Sauce vs. Roobarb»
This should be easier for Hot Sauce, I reckon it can go through here.
Blast, one of the seeds I could have difficulty with...
My tactics are to target X-Terminator and flip it. It doesnt have a great srimech, so Ill push it up against the wall to stop it self-righting. If that doesnt work, go for the OOTA.
Ooh, very nice opener, I must say, Danny. Quite a surprise too IMO.
HEAT A
ROUND 2
Pussycat (9) VS Vader
Im going to be different and say Pussycat to claw Vaders polycarb sides and scrape a victory.
Hot Sauce VS Roobarb
Ill pick Hot Sauce to win on a judges decision.
Ill give Wedge Devos tactics nearer the time. :)
Hot Sauce VS Roobarb
Tactics: Hmmm, suppose I should flip Roobarb straight away.
Did someone say battles? :proud:
HEAT A: ROUND TWO
Pussycat (9) VS Vader
OK, this was a difficult battle to write a hypothetical for, mainly because I feel that both robots are exceptional. But nevertheless€¦
Vader€™s better control allows it to get a few good hits onto the Pussycat bodywork, but somehow misses the wheels every time. Stu gets Pussycat€™s blade into the armouring of Vader, giving it a few good slices, but it isn€™t enough and Vader wins on a Judge€™s Decision based on damage, control and aggression.
Vader goes through to the Heat A final!!
Hot Sauce VS Roobarb
Booth One: Josh Pinto (Roobarb)
Booth Two: Chezza
House Robots: Mr Psycho and Matilda
3€¦2€¦1€¦ACTIVATE!
Immediately Roobarb storms towards Hot Sauce and rides up the front wedge, the high ground clearance clearly paying its price. Chezza gives a little flip and Roobarb is flipped onto its back, but it neatly self rights and drives away, looking for another attack. Chezza tries to slide in underneath Roobarb again, but Josh Pinto at the controls of Roobarb manoeuvres his robot away, and gets the flipper underneath Hot Sauce. The front hinged flipper-bot is turned over onto its back and before it can self right is slammed into the arena wall by Roobarb. Roobarb tries to get another flip in on Hot Sauce to get it OOTA, but fails to do so, and aids Hot Sauce in its self righting. Hot Sauce quickly turns and gets underneath Roobarb€™s high ground clearance, but instead of flipping it, Chezza drives it towards Matilda€™s CPZ. Roobarb is thwacked by the spinning flywheel of Matilda - the side armour sliced and buckled by that devastating attack by the House Robot. Hot Sauce backs away, leaving Roobarb tussling with Tildy. Josh Pinto manages to get out of the CPZ, and immediately crashes into Hot Sauce, flipping the robot over. Chezza tries to self right, but Roobarb cunningly uses the flipping arm to pin Hot Sauce down, and push it around the arena floor before slamming it into the pit release tyre. Hot Sauce finally manages to self right, and comes in on a slam against Roobarb, getting underneath the ground clearance. A flip and a quick self right later, Roobarb is back on its wheels and drives towards Hot Sauce, who is keeping the front wedge facing its opponent. Chezza pushes the controls on the remote control, and Hot Sauce speeds towards Roobarb and flips it over once again. Roobarb lands precariously near the open pit, and self rights, just missing the pit by mere millimetres. Hot Sauce slams into the side of Roobarb, pushing it nearer and nearer towards the pit. Roobarb manages to get enough traction on the arena floor, however to dodge the open canyon, with Hot Sauce nearly driving itself in! Roobarb once again comes in on the attack, but drives up Hot Sauce€™s front wedge once again. Chezza fires the flipper, sending Roobarb over onto its back once again. Roobarb self rights again, but only for Hot Sauce to flip it straight back over and drive it towards the arena side wall. Roobarb, once again, self rights, and drives towards Hot Sauce. Hot Sauce gets underneath the front flipper of Roobarb, but doesn€™t flip its opponent over. Is there a problem with the flipper? Hot Sauce gives Roobarb a piggyback around the arena floor before getting nearer and nearer the open pit. A quick fired flip from Hot Sauce sends Roobarb down and out of the competition.
Roobarb pitted.
Hot Sauce goes through to the Heat A final!!
HEAT A: FINAL
Hot Sauce VS Vader
Tactics? Predictions? :)
Hot Sauce...straight in, straight up, straight over. Easy win for Chez here.
Just to get Hot Sauce to flip like hes never flipped before. XD
