No. You just have to put up with me introducing your robots in some fancy rediculous way.
can we use real robots?
if so, I would like to have:
LW: Backlash
MW: S.O.B.
HW: Cyrilium
SHW: Diesector
(Message edited by corsair_lightning on March 29, 2008)
Hes already addressed that issue, twice. The answer is no.
OK Mark, Ive had enough. Ive told you already that you cant enter real robots, and you cant enter than cheating hunk of junk you call Cyrilium, but now Ive decided that you cant enter FULL STOP. Im not allowing people who refuse to take constructive criticism or hints in my tournaments.
Mark, just give up. If you cant read the rules, you dont belong on the forum.
Anyone else?
If no one else shows up, Ill have to fill in the gaps. Dont expect anything difficult, however, should that happen.
I also need a lightweight from Martijn.
Incidentally, Ive been looking throught the stats like the sad person I am, and I think its fair to point out to Andre that his robots appear to defy the laws of physics, particuarly in regard to their dimensions and invertability.
If you can wait 3 or 4 days for stats, I will gladly enter.
AJ: Ill count that as a reserve, and thus all the places have been filled. I just need Martijns lightweight and your entires, and Ill be done.
JOEY: Ill have a look into it, but Ill probably keep him in the tournament anyway. If something seems rediculously wrong, Ill know.
k, for my LW :proud:, I knocked this together very fast, so feel free to notice any big flaws :proud:
Name: Little Stingray
Shape: See link
Weight: 27 kg
Drive: 4 wheels, 1 S28-150 MAG @ 24 V PER wheel
Speed: 14 mph max
Armour: 4 mm titanium except for the wedges which is 6 mm
GC: 0 mm under wedge, 1 mm anywhere else
Srimech: invertible
The deal: Its a Rammstein-ish bot split in the middle and linked with an electromagnet. Yes, its a clusterbot made of 2 identical part. The fun part is that I can either link them like pictured (like Rammstein) and make it run like 1 rambot or I can link them so that BOTH wedges face the ground and run them like 2 rambot!

Apologies for the lack of quality in design and stats. Hope they are alright, but of course say if you need extra details.
Name: ROID
Shape: Invertible wedge shape, like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsyhfM5N-9k
THE BOX IS LOCKED, THE LIGHTS ARE ON, ITS ROBOT FIGHTING TIME!!
Thanks everyone. Heres the line-ups. So theyre unimaginative. So what?
LIGHTWEIGHTS
Against vs Radioactive
Anti Virus 2.0 vs ROID
Claw vs Spinny
Little Stingray vs Titanium Titan
MIDDLEWEIGHTS
Bonz vs Purer
Killoteeny vs Solstice 2.0
Life vs Spin Cycle
Media Diablo vs With You
HEAVYWEIGHTS
Back To Rock 3 vs Sir Spinalot
E Clawdius Unum vs Static Shock
No Objections vs Supreme Glory Omega
Shadow Zone Returns vs Wedgas Revenge
SUPERHEAVYWEIGHTS
Flick Of The Wrist* vs Sekhmet
Manic Monsoon XL vs Shovearound 2
Mauler vs SLAM!
Revolver vs Tax Cutter
OK, tactics/predictions everyone.
*With Flick Of The Wrist being as it is, Ill specify how the rules work around it. The rule that 50% of a clusterbot has to be knocked out to rule the whole thing out still stands, BUT because this is a HW and a MW, knocking out With You will not satisfy this. Youll have to knock out FOTW to win.
Right, here goes nothing...
ITEMS THAT COULD BE CONSTRUED AS TACTICS:
Against vs. RADIOACTIVE:
I reckon I could have better maneuvrability here, and four extra kilos at least. Basically wedge under the side, and shove into the hazards (Im assuming this is the BattleBox arena, seeing as its a Battlebots tournament and all...), particuarly the hammers, and generally try and dominate it.
LIFE vs. Spin Cycle
Uh...dont really think I can do detailed tactice here. Just flip it around, and hope something breaks.
NO OBJECTIONS vs. Supreme Glory Omega
Right, the difficult one, as SGO is really the sort of robot No Objections is weak against. Basically spin around and raise the lifter slightly so that the axe will (hopefully) be deflected before it hits thorugh the armour, and wait for it to charge head on and (again, hopefully) send it flying. One more thing, though; if I get the opportunity, when its inverted Ill go in with the lifter and try and stack it on the spikes. Tough fight though.
Flick Of The Wrist/With You vs. SEKHMET
Go into thwackbot mode from the go, try and immobilise one of them with a hit. If its FOTW, great, if not, go after FOTW with the front forks fully down, break its traction (should be easyish as I have 2WD to its 6WD, giving me in theory better maneuvrability) and slam it around.
Good luck Steve, Andy, Dan and Marti :)
Tactics:
Claw vs Spinny: Apparently I am fighting a 5cm cubed robot... Realism anyone?
Purer vs Bonz: Aparently I am fighting an 8cm cubed robot... Realism anyone?
SGO vs No Objections: Hmmm... the armouring shouldnt be a problem against my axe so basically aim for axeing the robot to death. :proud:
Manic Monsoon XL vs Shovearound 2: Rammer against rammer. Cant do anything else really except ram it around the arena.
Good luck Joey and AJ. Andre... try again?
I was thinking precisely that...:proud: Also, its not actually explained what the teeth on Mauler do, Id assume theyre attached to something that spins, but you never know, it might be a covering for some kind of evil toothbrush weapon.
Ill work everything out as of when.
Chris, ROID is a MW, and Spin Cycle is a LW. I cant fight a MW with a LW like Anti-Virus. :proud:
Dont let this discourage you, though.
Im assuming Im fighting Spin Cycle with Anti-Virus in the LWs, so...
Anti Virus 2.0 vs Spin Cycle
Ram it. The armour can hold up well. Nothing further. :proud:
Killoteeny vs Solstice 2.0
Well, my blades are pretty long. I should be able to hit him before he gets in range with the axe. Tactics? DESTROY IT. :proud:
Shadow Zone Returns vs Wedgas Revenge
Lol, how many times am I gonna get drawn against Wedga? :lame: Basically ram him to death with the front scoop, using the rear flipper only to self-right, or to take advantage if he runs out of flips. Should get under his skirts with little difficulty, so attack anywhere.
Revolver vs Tax Cutter
Charge straight into the disc to prevent it scratching my lovely paint job if it reaches full speed. :proud: Hack it to death, aim for the wheels mostly but generally hit anywhere I can. Oh, and do avoid leaving the axe down when his disc comes into play, as quite often axes get ripped off. :lame:
Good luck with this, Chris. :)
Hey, its not MY fault AJ isnt considerate enough to put his lightweight BEFORE his Middleweight, or at least make it clearer. :lame:
Anyway, now that thats COMPLETELY thrown the line-up...
LIGHTWEIGHTS
Against vs Radioactive
Anti Virus 2.0 vs Spin Cycle
Claw vs Spinny
Little Stingray vs Titanium Titan
MIDDLEWEIGHTS
Bonz vs Purer
Killoteeny vs ROID
Life vs Solstice 2.0
Media Diablo vs With You
REWORKED TACTICS FOR LIFE:
Box rush. Try and get over there before it can spin up, ram it, and try and stack it on the spikes. Failing that, flip it around until it dies, or something else of note happens.
Argh, my middleweight battle is switched. Stupid assumptions of mine. :lame:
Life vs. Solstice 2.0
AVOID THE FRONT! Hit anywhere else, maybe try to get him to miss a flip and then attack the inside of it.
Little Stingray vs Titanium Titan
gonna enter this battle with my wedges arranged like Rammstein (one regular, one inverted), and ram his FRONT. My thick titanium wedge vs his flimsy skirts, I think that clash will be in my favour. Liams stats fail to give both speed and locomotion so I dont have enough info to give more detailed tactics.
Media Diablo vs With You
Be like Tornado was on Chaos II, ram its sides and its rear. With You has a very thick scoop at 0 mm GC, so I know Ill have some fun.
Back To Rock 3 vs Sir Spinalot
Lift up, cut tires, pit.
Flick Of The Wrist/With You vs. SEKHMET
Head in with Flick ASAP to stop it from twacking ASAP, head in with With You afterwards to pit it with the combined power of Flick and With you, his GC is big so Im happy there, also its 10 wheels vs 2 :proud:
ARRGGH!
Im dead already...
Little Stingray v Titanium Titan
Hes not going to be very maneouvrable with that low clearance, so Ill just try and get round the side to attack.Avoid his plan!!Just lift him up and feed him to the kill saws!MWAHAHAHAHA!
Media Diablo v With You
Martijn again!:uhoh:
Im probably toast, but Ill give it my best to flip him to kingdom come!Flip him all around the arena and knock out his link! This being a middleweight bout I might get some sky-high flips!
E Clawdius Unum v Static Shock
Can this get any worse?
Try to get around his rear end and push him into arena hazards.
Mauler v SLAM!
No problem!Maulers an unstable bot so Ill just crash into it at top speed and let it fly!
Looking good Chris!
Also Martijn, theres no pit in Battlebots so you cant dump Sir Spinalot in the pit.
And I do have locomotion on my stats, and the speed should be pretty quick, about 23mph
And as for my SHW tactics, I thought it was the realie Mauler.
However, this bot seems VERY unrealistic to me, and its stats are very uninformative.

BATTLEBOTS: BEYOND THE BATTLEBOX
Welcome to Dinowarrior Battlebots, the mechanical mother of all fighting tournaments. Or, at least, thats what it says on the script. Over the next few weeks, youll see robots from four different weight catergories battle it out in the Battlebox, a nightmare-ish torture zone, with kill-saws, ram-rods, pulverisers, pistons and hell-raisers. It aint a pretty sight, but hey...someones got to do it.
Our first fight features two lightweight machines, Against and Radioactive. Do we know anything about these creatures? Heck, we know EVERYTHING about the robots on this show...possibly.
Against is built by long-time fanfic veteran Steven McGregor. This basic box has a hindged wedge as his main weapon, allowing him to easily get under other robots. Once up there, the spikes on top should keep them down.
Radioactive is an invertible wedge that can run any way up he is thrown, but just like Against, its also his main weapon. Its creator is Joey McConnell.
Now, lets go ringside...
Introducing, first, in the red square to my left...Hes a little bit toxic, a little bit wacky, and he intends to pollute all of his fellow competitors, until they cry for mercy! Introducing...RADIOACTIVE!!
And his oppodent, in the blue square to my right...Dont try holding arguments with him, as hell always oppose you, just as he opposes everyone else. The robot thatll never be for you, here is...AGAINST!!
THE BOX IS LOCKED, THE LIGHTS ARE ON, ITS ROBOT FIGHTING TIME!!
The two little lightweights come charging out of their squares. Theyll have to be careful of course, the hazards are much more dangerous to little lightweights than they are to the big boys. At the moment, Steve and Joey are just getting used to the arena. Now they charge...CRASH! Its a head on collision! The 0mm ground clearance of these two machines is just making things awkward. Now its a case of who has the more power and traction...and that would appear to be Against! He starts pushing Radioactive back, but the problem here is that Radioactive has four extra kilos in his favour, so when he pushes back, everything cancels out again. Someones got to give the other the slip sooner or later...and Radioactive breaks! But that allows Against to get underneath! Now he can drive, but can he get right under to pin him there with the barbs on top? He tries a charge...but no! Radioactive slips off! And now Radioactive gets underneath the side of Against! This doesnt look good. Radioactive now charges straight towards the Pulveriser...Hes picking up speed as he does so...BANG!! Straight into the area where the Pulverisers are! But the impact is so strong that Against bounces off the panel and goes flying right back away from the giant hammer, and now Radioactive is taking the pounding instead! Against tries to recover...but isnt that where one of the kill-saws are?....OH, YEAH BABY!! That WAS Kill Saw Territory, and Against goes flying! Radioactive manages to escape the Pulveriser, just about. Now hes heading for Against. Against is a little shaken. He just hasnt been able to get up to full speed. Radioactive crashes into him front on again...and this time theres damage clear. The kill-saw trip has done something to the titanium strip, perhaps buckling it slightly...and now Radioactive lures Against, more slowly this time, into the other Pulveriser. Get ready, because were serving up Robot pancakes! As the hammer bashes down on Against, Radioactive crawls out and sits back, as it appears that Against is done for. Steve is flicking the controls, but there is nothing he can do about it. And, Im afraid, the match is over, as the referee counts Against down. Radioactive a very good first winner.
*BUZZ!!*
And thats it.
OK, I wont bore you with the complete blah-de-blah of the post-mortum...youre probably bored stiff right now, so well skip to the important part...
THE WINNER, BY KNOCKOUT, IN THE RED SQUARE, RADIOACTIVE!!
I also wont bore you with the stats at the end. Does anyone ever watch them anyway?
Hope you tolerated this well enough.
NEXT TIME: We dive into the Middleweight class, when Bonz takes on Purer.
Whoa! Mason returns to the writing queue with an uppercut of an fight! :proud:
Well done Chris. :)
I cant imagine the stats for a wedge fight would be that interesting anyway...very good fight though, Chris, and not just because I won :) Good work by Steve as well.
What a way to open the tournament! Great fight Chris:)
I cant wait for my battles- my only fights so far have been in ...Mark Elams tournaments, and they werent very detailed at all- surprise surprise!
WTF!?
That was at least the 5th greatest vapour fight of all time!!!
What on earth are you on about?
A new robot, and youre calling at least the 5th greatest vapour of all time - and its been around for about 1 month. What the hell are you on Mark? If its Steroid then we will be in serious trouble when you come off them :uhoh:/:mrgreen:
...Radioactive? Correct me if Im wrong, but anybody who thinks that comes near the top five greatest machines ever...Im not saying theyre mad, but they are certainly a few fries short of a Happy Meal...
For what its worth, he said vapour fight rather than just vapour. But that makes it even more confusing. Nice start anyway, Chris! :)
PART 2
Welcome back to Battlebots. If you just joined us, you missed an epic, yet destructive encounter against Radioactive and Against. But now, were moving up a weight class, with Middleweights Bonz and Purer. Lets see what THESE robots have for us...
Bonz is basically a tiny cylinder shaped robot, capable of reaching speeds of 15mph, with four tiny titanium maces on the side. It was created by Andre Ydolly.
Purer is a more conventional looking machine, an invertable box and the main weapon, which is a low pressure flipper. Hes faster at 18mph, and was created by Daniel, from Team Britespark.
Now, looking at it, itd appear Purer has this match wrapped up. Youd think that the tiny Bonz would be no threat whatsoever. Well, well see. Lets go down to the box.
Introducing first, in the red square to my left...hes insane, but deadly. Hes got guts, and he wants some of yours. Here is...BONZ!!
And his oppodent, in the blue square to my right...hes been described as the perfect robot, and nows his chance to put up or shut up. Hes better than pure at heart, hes...PURER!!
THE BOX IS LOCKED, THE LIGHTS ARE ON, ITS ROBOT FIGHTING TIME!!
The beefier middleweights charge straight out to the centre of the battlebox. Purer, being the faster, bycrosses the centre first, gets underneath Bonz...Oh! And hes managed to turn him onto his side without even flipping him! He got underneath Bonz at the right angle, and just drove him onwards. And now Bonz is in massive trouble. Basically, hes too tall to be able to fall back over. He can roll, but only as far as his maces allow him. And Purer...wheres Purer going? Oh, hes gone back to his square. He feels hes done enough...heck, we ALL know hes done enough. Hes incapacitated Bonz, he just needs to wait for the countdown. Oh, and there it goes...And....
*BUZZ!!*
No contest in the end. And it was all over in a matter of seconds.
THE WINNER, BY KNOCKOUT, IN THE BLUE SQUARE, PURER!!
And maybe next time, Andre wont enter such a tall robot.
NEXT TIME: Its Heavyweight time, when Back To Rock 3 tussles with Sir Spinalot.
ffffff>Lets see...I wonder when Andre will complain...maybe in the next few minutes maybe? :proud:
Good fight anyway :proud:}
Yes, this is my way of dealing with less-than-accurate robots.
Good strategy, I must confess.
PREDICTION:
Back To Rock to get in past the spinner, unless Andre gets a lucky hit in, and tip Spinalot on its side to win.
