Good plan Steven. But there are a few things that I have in my favour - the skirts on Nitro-Gene 4.0 link up at the Corners, so Stevens plan wont work so well. In addition, my armour should prevent him from hurting me, and my wheels are quite hard to grab or damage.
In my favour also is my MASSIVE power advantage. I think has has 18hp - I have 36hp, and I (think) I have more traction, so I should get under. My plan is flip him over the walls - I can get under him no issue, I can push him no issue, and so I feel confident.

So Crimson Thunder is a passive ram-bot. However at 30 mph it might prove to be a bit uncontrollable at times, and those hinged skirts.
I shall fit the vertical drum weapon and dodge any forward facing attacks and try and hit the sides with the drum to cause some damage and swing the judges decision.

Heat B:Round 2, Battle 1
Crimson Thunder v PCC
The rambot v the chameleon-bot, an interesting way to kick off the second round...
The house robots are the usual run-of-the-mill though, as we have sgt bash and dead metal in this fight.
Crimson Thunder sprung a big surprise on us all in round one, pushing Iron Awe 5 into the pit despite getting flipped around early on.
David has decided to use his vertical drum weapon for this round after the success of the pie-tosser flipper in round one. PCC is looking good, so Danny had better watch out!

Danny spins up as Crimson Thunder presses the pit release button and drives into the center of the arena to meet PCC.
CRASH!
The drum makes contact and flips Crimson Thunder over, but its well-armoured and takes advantage of PCCs stationary drum to get in and push it across the arena into Dead Metals gaping arms!
The house robot grabs hold and attacks with his circular saw, sending a stream of sparks up into the air!
PCC escapes and comes on the attack again!
CRASH!
The drum proves its very effective as it strikes again, causing Crimson Thunder to get turned over again!Once again Danny takes advantage of the temporarily weaponless PCC to drive in underneath and push it around again!
This time PCC is well and truly beached, so Crimson Thunder takes it over to the pit! David isnt going in that easily though, and determinedely holds on to Crimson Thunder, desparately clining on to dear life!
CEASE!
PCC slid off the wedge and slides out of the heat in a puff of smoke! Crimson Thunder progresses to the heat final!
Heat B:Round 2, Battle 2
E Clawdius Unum v Nitro-Gene 4.0
Perhaps a more interesting draw here- the high pressure nitrogen flipper v what some would consider to be the ulitmate crusher in vapour roboteering.
The house robots in this fight will be Matilda and Growler.
E Clawdius Unum is a powerful Razer-esque robot with the words Et tu, Brute? scrawled on the bottom, but Steven will be hoping we dont get to see them!
Nitro-Gene is supererior in terms of power (36HP v 18HP), but its wheels are exposed to the top so Paul will want to steer clear of that crusher!

Nitro-Gene heads off around the arena and tries to attack Clawdius from the side, but Steven was too quick and cleverly performed a tricky maneouvre in order to get under Nitro-Gene instead!It quickly reversed and pulled around in a U-turn so that Paul fired the flipper too early to get under the front end and now Steven can bring that crusher into play! Pauls armour would stand up to it well, but the wheels wont!
Three wheels on that wagon when Stevens finished, as the one he attacked is all crumpled and bent! But Nitro-Gene is still on the wedge and Clawdius pushes it into the wall so Steven can get at the other wheel on that side!
SQUEEZE!
The same result and Nitro-Gene only has half drive now!
Clawdius backs off to let refbot come in!

Clawdius does a victory spin while Growler drags Nitro-Gene onto the floor flipper!

Crimson Thunder v E Clawdius Unum
The rammer v The crusher!Lets see how they got this far...
Crimson Thunder came through round one against all odds pitting Iron Awe 5.
Clawdius melee was tougher, but Steven eventually dealt Sheer Heart Attack 2 a fatal blow.
Crimson Thunder pushed PCC around in round 2, gradually getting stronger and getting another bot in the pit.
Clawdius crushed Nitro-Genes wheels on one side and triumphed with ease.
The house robots hungry for carnage in this bout are Cassius Chrome and Sir Killalot!
Crimson Thunder has been predicted to get Clawdius in the pit before Steven can get that crusher into play. Is Joey right or will things take an unexpected twist?
E Clawdius Unum has been more impressive in this heat, although Kody predicted it would exit the heat in its first round melee!

This battle has only just started, but it looks like its going to end soon!

Cats with Wheels v Seung Mina III v Behemoth
Kody and David have already decided to team up on Danny! MEow!
The house robots in this bout are going to be Matilda and Dead Metal!ARRGHH
Cats with Wheels is a practical wedge with sloped sides design with a front-hinged flipper.Its not original, and a similar competitior Worck fell at the first hurdle earlier on in this tournament.
Seung Mina III is another wedge, but with a rear hinged flipper.Its got more flipper power than Cats with Wheels and you cant drive straight over it due to the spikes on top.
Behemoth is another veteran of Robot Wars. It was a semi-finalist in series 2, and reached the heat finals of the two follwing wars before dropping again and only reaching the second round for 3 years straight.

Behemoth and Seung Mina head towards Cats with Wheels together, seemingly very confident. Seung Mina drives into the front to distract Danny while Behemoth gets under the rear, flipping it over!Danny quickly self-rights and revereses back into the action, pushing Behemoth from the side! But Seung Mina takes advantage and slips underneath the front, ramming it across the arena, coming perilously close to Matildas CPZ!
FLIP!
Cats with Wheels soars through the air and hits the plexi-glass with a crash before sliding down onto the camera tracks!

Cats With Wheels falls foul of a deadly alliance, Seung Mina III and Behemoth go through!
Heat C:Round 1, Battle 2
Gravity v Whirligig 4.5 v Storm II
The second melee of the heat is ready to get underway!The corpses have been cleared from the arena, the new two house robots are in position and our three brave (or stupid) competitors are revved up and ready!
The house robots residing over this match will be Mr. Pyscho and Growler.
Gravity reached the semi-finals of Robot Wars 7. On the way there it broke a robot wars record for fastest fight ever by flipping Dantomkia OOTA in just 6 seconds!
Whirligig is a shuffling FBS, like the Zenith we saw in Heat A. But this has no wedges, instead Steven is using Pussycat-style blades.
Storm II was also a robot in Robot Wars 7, but it was more successful than Gravity, reaching the grand final and becoming world champions!

Whirligig spins up while Storm II attacks Gravity, getting in behind Martijns realie entry and slamming it into an angle grinder! Gravity bounces away, but Paul persists and gets underneath again, this time pushing it into Whirligig!

Gravitys tyre is ripped off and the bot seems to defy Gravity, flying across the arena floor and landing on the flame pit!
Storm II nudges the pit release tyre and then tries to attack Gravity, but reverses onto the wedge!
FLIP!
Storm II flies through the air, but lands within the arena.
CRASH!
Whirligig has attacked Gravity again, spinning it closer to the pit!
Storm II recovers and slides under the rear to push Gravity into the pit!
CEASE!
Storm II and Whirligig 4.5 defy Gravity to go through to the next round!

Seung Mina III v Storm II: I reckon I may have problems here, as I wont get under him for certain, but I can push him if I get side-on to him. That will be my plan. KEEP AWAY FROM THE WALLS if he ISNT on my wedge. Try to push him into the house robots and see what theyll do.

Whew! No Whirligig...for now! :proud: Time to employ Wedge Devolutions tactics from VFT6, methinks. :wink: Make sure you follow these tactics, Liam. :)
Basically, get under Storm II. It shouldnt be hard to as Storm IIs wedge doesnt go straight to the ground, nor does the lifting arm. Then flip. DO NOT FLIP BACK. Once Storm II is inverted, ram him around. He will have a hugely difficult time trying to push me on his back, and will probably just end up on Minas sides or flipper again. If he somehow gets back onto his right side up, toss again to re-invert. Main tactic after invertion is fling to the pit!
Lets break her record of going out in the second round, and give Storm an early exit! :)

Behemoth has fairly poor manoueverability from what I remember. Try scuttling around the sides, smack it around a bit and see if I can rip that titanium bucket off. :proud:

The Ti scoop of Behemoth is pretty thin. That may sound bad, but against spinners that is actually an advantage. The Ti flexes a lot, thereby absorbing and deflecting a lot of the impact spinners have. The thing with spinners is not so much how much energy they have, but how much of it can be unloaded into the opponnent. With Behemoth that will not be very much.
That is why I think Behemoth will come on top.

Storm II was extremely aggressive, consistently attacking Gravity until they pitted it in a puff of smoke!

FBS meets titanium scoop.There have been a lot of predictions for this battle, lets see whos right and whos wrong...
The house robots helping to decipher this question will be Cassius Chrome and Sergeant Bash.
Whirligig is heavier than Behemoth, as its a shufflebot. This should work to its advantage, and it will need all the advantages it can get, as Steven will have trouble getting through Behemoths scoop.
Behemoth will hope its scoop will stand up to Whirligig.A robot by Kane Aston and his team from Hemel Hempstead the formidable machine is entered into this tournament by David Sheppard.

Whirligigs weapon is stopped in its tracks again by that formidable scoop!
FLIP!
Stevens FBS is flipped over again and before it can spin up is pushed by Behemoth again, this time onto the flame pit!

Behemoth lifts over and pushes Whirligig into the CPZ! Sgt Bash fits its claw over the shuffle-pad and crushes it!

With no sign of the tussle breaking the match goes to a Judges Decision.

Wedge Devolution v Chaos 2 v Another Night at the Bar
The scottish flipper, the 2-time british champion and the original spinning blade-design.
Plus the house robots, Growler and Sgt.Bash!
Wedge Devolution is a classic wedge shape as you can deduce from the name. It has a powerful rear hinged flipper that can easily lift a tonne!
Chaos 2 was the 2-time british champion!However, that was a long time ago in 1999 and 2000, so its a little out-of-date.
Another Night at the Bar is a very original design, a cylinder with a powerful horizontal blade on the bottom. Its an improvement on A Night at the Bar, which although powerful had a few problems that Martijn wanted to improve, and now has done!

Another Night at the Bar spins up and trundles into the center of the arena to attack Chaos 2.

The front panel of Chaos 2 is cracked, but Danny did manage to flip Martijn upon impact!However, ANATB landed the right way up and now comes on the attack to slam into Chaos 2s rear armour!
CRASH!
The weak back panel flies off as Wedge Devolution comes on the attack of Chaos 2, flipping it onto its back! Danny self-rights and chases Martijn, but he backs away to allow more spin-up time before crashing in on the attack again!
SLAM!
Chaos 2s Co2 bottle is knocked loose by the impact, and Danny lands in Sgt.Bashs CPZ!
CRUNCH!
Sgt Bash punctures the loosened canister, causing Chaos 2 to vent steam all over the arena!
The Wedge Devo comes in to finish the match by flipping Chaos 2 over!Danny cant self-right, but can Steven resist?
No, he cant.

Oh, Super Gore Evo will use the clamping claws (flat-edged) for this one. Theyre better suited for gripping rather than trying to pierce strong armour, and so can grab an opponent and hold onto them far more easily.
Main tactics: Grab Daves bot and shunt it into MeCannibal.

Super Gore Evo v MeCannibal 2.0 v Its the Last Thing on my Mind
The very last round one melee of the tournament!
The house robots had another disagreement.This time it was over who WOULDNT go into the arena, as the three bots in there look like house robot killers!Eventually Cassius Chrome took a blow to the head from Pyscho and was pushed in, and Shunt was flipped by Matilda and dumped into the CPZ by a cackling Killalot!
Super Gore Evo is a tracked robot that is invertible and uses some powerful horizontal cushing arms, ala Kan Opener.There are two types of arms, the clampers and the piercers, but Kody has opted to use his clampers in this round.Lets see how that decision will effect him in this match...
MeCannibal 2.0 is another robot allowed a weight bonus, but this time its because its a shufflebot. Its another FBS (Ive had a surprising amount in this tourney, many of them shufflers), so watch out!
(Deep Breath)Its the Last Thing on my Mind will be referred to as ITLTOMM for the rest of the competition because I really cant be bothered to keep typing that mouthful!

MeCannibal spins up while Super Gore chases after ITLTOMM, getting its clampers around the rear!Carefully Kody lines up with MeCannibal, then slams ITLTOMM into Pauls whirling dervish!

ITLTOMM is flipped over by the hit, and now reverses the weapon to try and attack Super Gore Evo. But its too slow as Kody has a firm hold again, and rams ITLTOMM into MeCannibal again!
CRASH!
ITLTOMM gets another flying lesson and lands in Cassius Chromes CPZ!The boxer wiggles his bum and does no damage whatsoever, but still shoves ITLTOMM out of the CPZ.
This time Dave spins up on time and goes to attack MeCannibal!
CRASH!
Both bots collide with their weapons at full speed, and ITLTOMM spins away across the arena floor!
Taking advantage of MeCannibals momentary stillness Kody drives in and clamps Paul!
ITLTOMM helpfully presses the pit release tyre while Kody drags MeCannibal towards the pit!

Smoke rises from the pit as MeCannibal lies broken inside!

Agh, nooo...thankfully, Super Gore Evo is pretty low to the ground, and heavier, so maybe Steve wont be so successful with an OOTA.

Lure it towards the walls, get around the rear and flip it against the wall. Toss it out the ring before it can get back on the ground. If worst comes to worst, get around the rear and try to flick it into the pit.

A much anticipated heat semi-final gets underway!!
The house robots has another debate, which ended in a casualty of the Robot Wars technical team!
Derek Foxwell broke a nail! argggh
Wedge Devolution looked powerful in round one, throwing Chaos 2 OOTA.Can Steven continue its success here?
Super Gore Evo also looked very powerful, saving ITLTOMM at the last minute and pitting MeCannibal instead.

Both bots rear ends lift up, but when Steven lowers his flipper they go back to the ground!

Steven tries again, this time throwing Super Gore away! But Kody is relentless and as Steven turns to drive away ahe comes in and pushes Wedge Devo into the chasm!

Wedge Devolution flies the scottish flag as high as it can- just above the level of the pit...

Another Night at the Bar v ITLTOMM
Two spinners step into the arena, one horizontal one vertical!
The house robots have another spinner in there- MATILDA!Accompanying her will be Growler!
Another Night at the Bar is the horizontal spinner in this bout. Its invertible, and certainly hopes to rip ITLTOMM up!
ITLTOMM has a vertical spinner, shaped like an I. David has already made the final with Calm Down Dear, so Martijn will want to stop him at all costs!

Both robots spin up, and head cautiously towards each other. Its all very tentative early on, but Martijn decides to crank up the action and speed in!
CRASH!
ITLTOMM flies over onto its back, and Another Night at the Bar attacks again!
CRASH!
This time Daves machine spins into Growlers CPZ!Hes in the canines mechanical jaws and cant get free!
CRASH!
ITLTOMM is slammed into the angle grinder by growler, and now Martijn comes in to attack again!
CRASH!
ITLTOMM starts spinning wildly, then comes to a halt!
Refbot comes in to check it out.

ITLTOMM is out, as the removable link was taken out by Martijns last hit!
Matilda lifts him up and drags ITLTOMM onto the floor flipper!

It bounces along the floor, almost going right out of the arena!

ANATB is a wide cylinder that wont be able to maneuver out of the way of Super Gore Evos jaws very easily...Kody to pit ANATB before the bar can do any damage.

Super Gore Evo vs. Another Night at the Bar
Simple tactics here: go for either the weapon axle or the wheels. The spinning bar axle seems the best bet if I can close the pincers around them (which I can :proud:) but if I can mangle up his wheels, thats nice too.
Piercing claws, if you please. They should stand enough punishment from ANatBs weapon if he gets away from my initial charge and gets up to full speed, and then I can grab him by the axle and push him around with ease.
Result: Pit him. :proud:
