Goody! Ive posted in what Im going to do for that. No Objections is a fantastic desgin, you cant object to it :P. But point of that it says in his tactics hes going to TRY to get off my flipper. His plan all hidges on that bit.
So my tactic is to speed into him and get him on my wedge. Dont fire the flipper then, as I plan to keep on pushing him around and prevent him spinning or lifting THEN I go into flipping mode. If my plan fails and he starts to spin, Ill reverse into him with my robust rear and stop him spinning before going for the OOTA.

Challenge Belt
And so begins No Objections third defense of the belt!To Mark- let Paul have a go, he hasnt had a try yet, you can go again later.
So far No Objections has literally burst Tornados bubble and sent Cyrilium topsy-turvy, lets see what he can do against his latest challenger:Nitro-Gene 4.0!
Nitro-Gene is a low invertable box with a flipper to die for, and its more powerful than No Objections so once again Joey could get pushed around a lot.
Representing the house robots in this anticipated bout are Sgt.Bash and the terrifying jaws of Dead Metal. Be very afraid...
Joey tells us that he plans to get Paul to flip when No Objections isnt onboard the wedge by driving on and off very quickly. This would allow Joey to wreak havoc with Nitrogenes internal workings- lets see if No Objections can put the plan into action!
Booth 1:Paul Cuomo
Booth 2:Joey McConnell
3,2,1,ACTIVATE!
Nitro-Gene is the first to make its move, darting swiftly across the arena to get under No Objections and send it flying across the arena! No Objections rolls like a wheel on its side before falling over and swiftly self-righting with its lifter. Nitro-Gene immediately comes on the attack again and pushes Joey up against the pit release! The siren wails and Nitro-Gene gives No Objections another taste of the flipper, this time sending it head over heels into Dead Metals CPZ!Dead Metal clamps his arms firmly around No Objections and comes down on it with the circular saw!The sparks fly, but Nitro-Gene comes to Joeys rescue and turns Dead Metal over with a flick of its flipper! No Objections escapes and gets in behind Nitro-Gene, lifting it up and over in the blink of an eye!So much for a thankyou!Nitro-Gene is quick to self-right and gets under No Objections again before sending it sky high!
CRASH!
No Objections crashlands on the flame pit and tries to self-right, but cant, as one its forks has got speared in the mesh! Refbot rescues the stranded bot, but its now up against the arena side wall and therefore still cant self-right! However, help is at hand as Nitro-Gene 4.0 comes in to send it flying out of the arena!
CEASE!
No Objections finally loses the belt, and they couldnt wish for a better bot to lose it to! Nitro-Gene 4.0 is the new holder!

Challenge Belt
Mark-Im confused now.I go off the forum for an hour or so and sudddenly there are stats to a whole new vapourbot on the thread?!No explanations or anything at all!Whats happening?
-
Challenge Belt
Ah well, good job Paul :)
-
Challenge Belt
I seriously wasnt expecting to win - No Objections is a masterpiece of desgin work, and even if Id lost, I could boast that I lost to it. But thanks anyway :proud:
Can I ask, what happens if no-one else enters, does Nitro-Gene keep the belt?
-
Challenge Belt
Ok Liam, a Challenge Belt tournament like this has some potential, lemme give you some tips.
Make very clear whatll happen in your first post, like Kody and I do in Crash & Burn and Mechanical Noise (and there are more examples).
State how many people you want with how many robots, state how we should explain what our robots are like, state how heavy they can be (is there a bonus for walkers or tracks?). What arena will we fight in, and whats the tournament structure?
In this case you should state that therell be one bot to start with, and therell be battles to follow that up (holder vs challenger).
Like I said, tell us what well enter.
Once I know your weight-limits Ill enter something myself.
-
Challenge Belt
Well, I will still face nitro gene 4.
My robot now has a zero ground clearance, and the new front flipper/wedge.
My plan: to run straight into him and hopefully stick him against the wall. If he escapes, Ill run him into the house bots, and try to smash that armour. I can get under that 2cm ground clearance easily. remember, if I get flipped, my bot is now invertible, so it wont kill me like in the last fight.

Masterpiece of design work? I designed it in Chemistry :proud: but thanks anyway.
-
Challenge Belt
Martijn, the rules are that of robot wars 7, minus the moving weapon one.No made-up components, Vapourbots only now that Tornados gone. I had to skip the first part of the tournament due to lack of entries, but Im getting moe response now.
-
Challenge Belt
well, I dont have the RW7 rules on my shelf, sorry
-
Challenge Belt
Well...I accept Marks callenge, and my plan is to speed at him like a mad thing, but I have more traction, power and speed than him, so I still process those advantages. Ill get under him quite easily, as hell need to make his ground clearance HIGHER, otherwise, hell be screwed. And my clearance is protected, so Ill just boss him, and go for a quick OOTA.
-
Challenge Belt
Paul, if no one enters you keep the belt, but people already have so dont get your hopes up!
And so you will all now witness Nitro-Gene 4.0s first defense of the belt! His opponent- a brand new version of Cyrilium! The old Cyrilium challenged No Objections, but lost when it was flipped over and immobilised.
Watching over tonights draw are two mechaniacal menaces that roboteers always steer clear of- the ever-comical Cassius Chrome, accompanied by his new love interest, Matilda!
Previously Nitro-Gene 4.0 defeated No Objectoins by sending right OOTA!However, challenge belt veteran Mark plans to ram Nitro-Gene into the arena walls, aided by his brand new flipper!
Booth 1:Paul Cuomo
Booth 2:Mark Elam
3,2,1,ACTIVATE!
Cyrilium gets off the mark quickly and comes speeding at Nitro-Gene, but Pauls reflexes are on good form and Cyrilium hits nothing but wall! Taking Mark unawares Nitro-Gene slides its flipper underneath Cyrilium and lets fly!Cyrilium lands just inside the arena, but is now upside down so that flipper is useless!Luckily for Mark the new Cyrilium is now invertable, so hes not down and out already! Nitro-Gene doesnt relent though, and chases Cyrilium into the pit release! But now Cyrilium has turned around is flying towards Nitro-Gene at full speed, perhaps planning to knock his opponent out via a Storm II style hit?Anyways, hes unsuccessful for a second time as Nitro-Gene gets underneath and flips Cyrilium into the CPZ! Matilda wasnt in the mood for visitors, and after this visit Cyrilium knows it! Matildas flywheel slams into Cyrilium, sending Mark cartwheeling into the center of the arena where Nitro-Gene is waiting. But this time Cyrilium is too quick and being the right way up again slips underneath the side and rams Nitro-Gene into the arena wall before firing its own flipper!Nitro-Gene is on the rails, falling out when Paul hits the flipper and it springs back in Roobarb-style!Unfortunately for Paul it self-righted back onto Cyriliums rear wedge, allowing Mark to drive Nitro-Gene into the opposite wall! However, this wdge is flipper-less, so theres no chance of flipping Nitro-Gene OOTA this time. Nitro-Gene escapes and comes back on the attack, delivering one last colossal flip to end the match.
CEASE!
After an incredibly close battle well have to go to a judges decision:
Nitro-Gene 4.0: Cyrilium:
Damage- 3/5 3/5
Aggression- 4/5 4/5
Style- 2/5 0/5
Control- 3/5 0/5
Overall- 12/20 7/20
The judges decide that driving your own robot into walls isnt good control, but moving neatly out of the way IS.Its very close, but Nitro-Gene 4.0 keeps the belt, and the gallant loser Cyrilium can go home knowing it put up one of the greatest challenge belt fights yet.
-
Challenge Belt
Cyrilium now has updated traction, more power, and a new 30mph speed. Plus a 0.5mm ground clearance increase. it is also now painted gold with a large silver stripe on top.
-
Challenge Belt
Wait!!
I didnt give you Cyriliums updates!
And that could have changed the outcome of the fight!
Besides, Cyrilium has very good manuverability, so I would easily have turned away from that wall!
-
Challenge Belt
If you didnt post the updates before the fight its a bit late, Im sorry
-
Challenge Belt
Besides, you arent allowed to self right back into the arena. In series 7 of robot wars, when a robot self righted back into the arena, it lost because it went out of the arena in the first place!
-
Challenge Belt
I did post the updates before the fight, but it ended up after your post for no real reason. By the way, maybe me and Nitro Gene would like to fight again, if you will let us.
-
Challenge Belt
I think youll find that I was ON the wall, and flipped myself INWARDS towards the arena. If I went out then flipped back, Id see your point, but I saved myself.
-
Challenge Belt
Im pretty sure no one has the RW rules on the shelf, but heres a list of the rules anyway Martijn
1)Maximum weight for wheeled robots-100kg, 150kg for walkers, 110kg for shufflebots (e.g Son of Whyachi)
2)No projectile weapons (e.g flamethrowers)
3)Vapourbots only now that Tornados gone
4)No made-up parts
5)Stats must include Shape,Weight,Weaponry,Armour,Power,Ground Clearance,Speed, Weapon Power and any extras like colour/strengths etc.
Any questions?
-
Challenge Belt
He was ON the wall, so its allowed.
If you remember in the newblood tournament (RW EXTREME 2), the first heat final was Mute v Roobarb, and Mute flipped Roobarb up onto the rails, then Roobarb fired its flipper and got back in
-
Challenge Belt
They look strangely different to the RW rules...
-
Challenge Belt
If we get a rematch, give me 15 minutes to make modifications to Cyrilium.
And dont forget to show highlights!
-
Challenge Belt
-
Challenge Belt
Cyrilium has brand new armour which consists of a 1mm layer of each: first bronze, then silver, then gold, then a final 2mm layer of tin.
same colouration though
-
Challenge Belt
I dont remember vapours being mentioned in the RW Series 7 rules
-
Challenge Belt
...show highlights?
as in (shows clip of Cyrilium pushing Nitro Gene around)
get it?
-
Challenge Belt
And Nitro-Gene flipping you into the house robots? And Nitro-Gene saving itself? And Nitro-Gene relentlessly attacking you at the beginning?
Quote:
get it?

-
Challenge Belt
yes.
what I mean is it shows the most awesome parts of the fight.
(shows clips)
Nitro gene flipping Cyrilium into Matilda.
Cyrilium catching Nitro Gene.
Stuff like that.
PS: want a rematch? We can both make some modifications to our bots if need be.
-
Challenge Belt
Maybe we should have a four way fight between No Objections, Cyrilium, Crimson Thunder, and Nitro Gene 4.5.
-
Challenge Belt
To Mark: NO! You lost. Get over it - BE A GOOD LOSER!
To Danny: Yes, Id like a match against you. Takes me back to Nitro-Genes first battle/win, as well as my first win :proud:. My plan is to let him charge at me - becuase of his speed, he has very little acceleration. So charge a few times at him, turn him over, just to score some points in cause it goes to the judges. But my main plan is to get him to slam himself into a wall, then knock him sideways, get my flipper under and just use a flick to get rid of him!
Good luck Danny
-
Challenge Belt
Ill post this new battle tommorrow.Mark-YOU LOST,END OF STORY
-
Challenge Belt
Right, simple enough. Ram the sides, I should get beneath the skirts with my speed and 0mm Ground Clearance. Once Ive got under, its generic rambot tactics. Ram it into the pit. I wont bother with any slams on the walls, that might leave me open to an OOTA.
-
Challenge Belt
OK Danny, but youll have to go near the walls to get the pit release button  Keep the flipping about part, but if I get his sides, push him away towards the edge, then flip out. If he activates the pit release button, ram under the rear, and either flip out, or push him down.

Challenge Belt
And so begins Pauls third challenge belt match!Lets flashback and see how Nitro-Gene 4.0 has done so far...
VS.No Objections
Paul challenged Joey for the belt, and sent No Objections right OOTA!
VS.Cyrilium
Mark challenged Paul, but lost on a nailbiting judges decision.
How will Nitro-Gene fare against Crimson Thunder, a well-designed pushbot entered by Danny Bailey?Tonight well find out...
This hotly anticipated bout will be watched over by the 280kg house robot masterpiece Sir Killalot. He will be assisted by maniacal green bot with a taste for fire...Sgt.Bash!
Crimson Thunder plans to get Nitro-Gene into the pit, but doesnt want to stray to near the arena walls. The latter is bad for Paul, as he is opting to try and get in underneath Crimson Thunder to throw it out...This ones gonna be close...
Booth 1:Danny Bailey
Booth 2:Paul Cuomo
3,2,1, ACTIVATE!
Paul is the first to make his move, heading around the arena to try and attack Crimson Thunder from the side. However, Crimson Thunder is the faster bot and gets away, stopping in the center of the arena for a moment before heading up to the pit release and knocking the tyre off the wall!Refbot isnt happy, but nevertheless just looks on. Paul has realised Danny is next to the arena wall and comes speeding in to try and end the battle by OOTA, but once again Crimson Thunders speed pays off and Danny escapes. In frustration, Nitro-Gene overturns the refbot before giving chase! Crimson Thunder drives away and gets in line with the pit, but Paul isnt stupid and attacks Crimson Thunder from the side, ramming it into the arena wall!Crimson Thunder cannot move- its beached right on top pf Pauls robot right next to the arena wall!Paul lets rip, but Crimson Thunder, being on top of the robot is thrown backwards, away from the wall...But Paul doesnt give up that easily and follows, but his luck has changed as Crimson Thunder gets underneath Nitro-Gene!Seeing what may be his only hope to win the fight, Danny carefully steers Nitro-Gene towards the pit. Closer...Closer...Nitro-Gene fires its flipper at mid-air in desperation to escape, but to no avail as Crimson Thunder thrusts it down into the darkness!
CEASE!
Paul was on top for the most of the round, but clever tactics from Danny paid off and Crimson Thunder takes the challenge belt!
-
Challenge Belt
Well, Nitro-Gene had to die at some point. Well done Danny.
-
Challenge Belt
Paul, you are a very gallant loser.Unlike Mark.
-
Challenge Belt
Nitro-Genes...dead?
Let us have a moment of silence for the departed robot.
...
Well done Danny though, and good fight from Liam.
-
Challenge Belt
Dont worry - this robot is like Den Watts! mean, lean and ready to fight again later on. But I think that he maybe is dead in this competition, so I can wish Danny good luck later on.
-
