Just because youll hit the other robot, doesnt mean youll destroy it Martijn. Here is a video I prepared earlier:
Icewave VS Major Punishment
http://www.madoverlord.com/Movies/NPC/3617.movhttp://www.madoverlord.com/Movies/NPC/3617.mov
Suicide is not a tactic...
4 x S28-400 Magmotor isnt actually lighter then 2 x LEM130s. The saving is in the batteries. Your two LEMs on 48v will need 12.8KG of 3600 NiCD batteries, 36v youll need 9.6KG. On 24v the Magmotor makes more power them the LEM130 (1.5Kw) anyway :P You can run 4 x S28-400s on 4.8KG of batteries (24v x 3 Packs). This is basically the drive train of Devils Plunger (Sewer Snakes little brother), so I know its effective, having watched DP push a superheavyweight around :proud: Video below:

okaydokay Aaron, the batteries is were I went wrong on the rambot, thanks for the help there
as for the spinner, Ill still be aiming for an energy output somewhere roughly between the 500 and 750 kJ, since the concept of the bot is that part 1 of the cluster makes up for the high spin-up time of part 2
meh, this is my first new vapour in over a year, so take that as my excuse :proud: thanks again for the help Aaron :proud:
Since Martijn is entering a Clusterbot, and since there arent many of them, I didnt bother to write rules for them, and Im going to leave it to the readers of this thread to vote.
Do you think that when 1 of the 2 parts is dead, the whole robot is dead or it should still be allowed to continue fight?
By the way, I still need more robots.
I vote for the 50% rule
Paul, Im affraid people might be a bit biased here :proud:
me, as the one entering the clusterbot, OF COURSE vote for the option where the ENTIRE bot has to be out, rather than one part
in my own tournament, Mechanical Noise, I use the rule that when the parts that are out equal 50% or more of the total clusterbots mass, the entire bot is out
so really, I vote for all parts have to be out, but I can PERFECTLY understand everyone else doing otherwise :proud:
Any spots left Paul?
There are plenty of spots left, but if you can get your entries in quite soon, Ill be very happy.
Cant I take all of my reallies and 2 of my vapours?
Who are your realies and vapourbots? Sorry, I just dont know much about them.
Do you have a list of the realies already taken?
When With Or Without You was being designed, me and Martijn talked quite a lot about the rules regarding when it would be out or not. Obviously the 50% rule should clearly be used - but from there it is down to the writer to judge what 50% out means. There are a number of scenarios that could happen from the bar hitting an opponent, and Ill give my views on them:
1) The bar strikes but neither is knocked out and the fight continues as normal
2) The bar strikes, the opponent is knocked out and the cluster survives - the cluster wins
3) The bar strikes, the opponent survives and the cluster is knocked out - the opponent wins
4) The bar strikes, and both are knocked out, which is where it becomes a little tricky...
As the opponent is 100% out it is eliminated, and as the cluster is 50% out it is also eliminated. My suggestion here would be to judge the fight up until the bar made contact, and the winner is based on that.

I really like that rendering of GBOD, Leo. :)
Really, REALLY good robots Leo, but there are 2 too many realies in your line-up. Apart from that, EXTREMELY good line-up. But get rid of 2+ realies.
Another thing - what shape is Eternia?
Paul, did you know that two of those realies were MADE by Leo? (Splinter, Hannibal)
You really should let him enter them as 2 more places for vapourbots; even though they are not vapourbots they still belong to him.
(Message edited by kodster on January 11, 2008)
Actually, Kody has a great point - people who have actually build robots are allowed to enter them along with the 2-4 realies.

Ill enter the Infusion family....
Name: Infusion Alpha
Motivation: 4 x 125mm wheels
Speed: 0-12MPH [25MPH under Kinetic Boost]
Clearance: 7.5mm (same inverted) 0mm at the front, the wedge scraps the floor.
Weight: 100kg
Height: 125mm
Length: 800mm
Width: 600mm
Weapon: The weapon is a 28kg Hardox spinning ring (Ala MDU) powered by a LEM170 @ 36v. The rim rotates at 2000rpm and should spin up within 2 seconds max. The weapon is also a storage device for the drive. The spinning rim is connected to each side of the drive via a car air conditioner clutch, when the clutches are engaged, the 31kg kinetic storage bank(the spinning rim) transfers its energy into the drive train, giving it approximately double torque and speed for 2-3 seconds until the rim starts too loose speed and energy. This extra €˜kinetic€™ boost is used to ram into opponents with the front 10mm thick Hardox 500 wedge (similar to the one on Warrior SKF but wider and less depth to it). The front wedge is rubber shock mounted to ensure it survives the biggest of hits.
Drive: 2 x C40-500 Magmotors on 36v geared 7.5:1. The drive is also assisted via the spinning rim as explain above.
Batteries: 110 x 2300mAh A123 LiNP Cells made into 36v packs. Produces 36v @ 23.0 Amp/Hours
Armour: Front wedge is made entirely out of 8mm Hardox 500, the top and bottom of the robot is made out of 8mm Titanium/Vandium, The ring is made out of 10mm Hardox 400 with inner bracing to the perimeter bearing. Inner bulk heads are made from 20mm polycarbonate and 10mm aluminium.
Notes: Invertible, speed when needed and generally well controlled for a spinner. Ram or Spin, Infusion aims to win!

Hmm...Infusion looks like it could win...no wait! Infusion would surely outperform Infusion! ah, but Infusion has the upper hand more than Infusion does...
Hmm, tough choice. May as well go for Infusion. :proud:
Infusion FTW!
But Aaron - they all have the same stats! :proud:
I imagine they are all painted different colours. I bet on the red one.
an Infusion vs. Infusion match would made great reading:rofl:
1 - Biohazard
2 - M2
3 - Atomic
4 - Suicidal Tendencies (S5 version)
5 - Quocunque Jeceris Stabit
6 - Son of Wedgie
7 - I would go with Chalkie 3G, but Aaron would prob tear it to pieces as it was designed during the stage where I wasnt feeling straight, but meh
8 - Flipping Mad B2B (stats can be found in Martyns all stars tourney)

I remember when my team name literally was Team ??? :proud: So just to be annoying, Id like to change my team name back to that please. Meanwhile, I will get cracking on some stats, Im working on a few surprises for this tournament. Also, where are Aarons two real robots?!
To be honest, hes already being a pain by entering 8 vapours, all with the same stats but different names, but since he wants to enter, then Ill let him keep them since I really want to start this!
My team name is Team Predator Bullies.
Here Paul. :)
Wedginator 6.0
Shape: Wedge with scoop at the back.
Colour: Green crocodilian texture.
Weight: 100kg
Speed: 24mph
Armour: 6mm hardox 750 all around the main body except the underside, which is 6mm titanium.
Chassis: 3mm hardox 400 box chassis
Drive: 2 x LEM130 at 36v.
Power: 6 NiCad Battlepacks at 36v
Motivation: 6WD. 6 titanium hubs, with vulkalon rubber for traction.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front and rear, and 4mm at the sides. There is a hardox plate at the front with the name of the bot there, to aid in getting under skirts.
Diemsnions in CM (LxWxH): 95 x 73 x 35
Weaponry: This is where it gets interesting. Wedginator has an all-around flipper this time around, powered by a single 2.5kg CO2 bottle. How does it work? Well instead of the panel coming up to flip, the entire exterior armour is tilted. As the armour is a little heavy, it will probably only be able to flip about 300kg, and toss 175kg, at both ends. It tilts from the back, so at the front it acts like a front-hinged flipper and at the back the scoop acts like a rear-hinged flipper, so it can fend off attacks at both ends. The armour is attached to the chassis at the front to avoid the armour coming off easily.
Srimech: Flipper
Strengths: Unique design. 6WD, extreme pushing power, speed, and acceleration. Hard to get under. Flipper still good despite slight lack of power.
Weaknesses: No damaging weaponry.
Super Gore Evo
Shape: Rounded box with front wedge/plow/scoop, and spike skirting. See picture for more info.
Colour: Navy blue, with red claws.
Speed: 18mph
Weight: 110kg
Armour: 4mm hardox 600 for the main body.
Chassis: 3mm hardox box chassis
Drive: 2 LEM130s @ 48v. Gives out 18HP altogether. Weigh 6kg altogether.
Power: 6 NiCad Battlepacks @ 48v, weighing 12.8kg.
Tracks: Titanium, with clear vulkalon rubber strips for grip and traction.
Ground Clearance: At the front its a dead 0mm thanks to the front scoop. At the sides and rear its 6mm, but only if you can get by the 4 skirt strips on each side, made of 8mm titanium.
Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 120 x 90 x 14
Weaponry: Interchange hydraulic pincers, that can exude 4 tonnes of pressure at the tip. The pincers featured in the picture are the clamping onces, not meant to damage, but to get a grip. Those said pincers have more vulkalon rubber attached to the tips to maintain hold, and drag them wherever with the awesome pushing power. The other set of pincers are piercing ones, diamond-tipped, to grab opponents with weaker armour, and damage electronics inside. The pincers themselves are made of 9mm Grade 5 titanium and are firmly attached to the hydraulics system. Between the pincers is a 8mm titanium wedge scoop, with a 5mm hardox 600 plate.
Srimech: Invertible.
Strengths: Fast, powerful, awesome traction, versatile and damaging weaponry, tough armoured, works the same either way up, hard to get under.
Weaknesses: Tossed easily if gotten under, tracks exposed to crushers and axes (but very sturdy nonetheless).

Last two will be up later. :)
Wedginator looks awesome! Thanks for those, Kody. Theyre very much apprieciated.
I cant wait to see the last 2! Just one question, do you know where I can find stats for Tornado Mer?
Kody. WEDGINATOR 6.0. IS. AMAZING. That is all.
Looked at the Wedginator CAD (which looks excellent btw) then read through its stats just to make sure I didnt miss something that I thought would be a weakness, but surely if a slow-lifting bot comes along with a ground-scraping lifter (either linear actuator powered or a four-bar-lifter) cant they just tip Wedginator on to its side?? As the side looks flat so itll just get stuck on it. Using the flipper moves the whole shell so would not really aid its cause surely?
Or is this post gonna be completely unnecessary when you tell me that there will be small spikes on the sides to stop it getting stuck there? :):)
For Eternias shape:

Wedginator might come undone in a melee IMO

4 x S28-400 magmotors for the spinning bar.
4 x Astro90s for drives.
Lots of Nicds..
Team MHF?!?!
Team Devils Incarnate actually.
That minor issue has been rectified. I just need to know the vapourbots for team Devils Incarnate youre going to be entering. When I get the robots for Matt, AJ, Martyn and the remainder of Stats from Kody then we can launch this thing into space! :proud:
Excellent :)
Paul, Tim, Leo, thank you. :)
Leo, to answer your question, the side isnt really flat, but curved slightly (the bottom edge sticks out more; will produce another CAD if necessary) so if that happens Wedginator can self-right directly from its side (spinning as it does so).
The Zenith and Aftershock will be coming, stats and all, in a little while.

Sorry, Leo. Eternia looks awesome btw.
Okay, I answered JAMIES question. :)
