15th June 2008 - Roaming Robots - Guildford Spectrum

Shame we wont be out on Saturday but Ive just finished another major mod on Hydra (new Roboteq controller) which has taken an age and involved taking eveything out and putting it back in.

Need Saturday just to do some final adjustments and get eveything ready to go. Just having a problem getting the trims absolutely perfect, but may be ok anyway when they get some weight on them because its only very slight twitches happening.

Need to fire the weapons too just to make sure they are all connected up right.

good controller you have there andy. should serve you well. if you set the trims it should cure the twitches

Ive tried setting the trims and got them as good as. Maybe its just me wanting it to sit there with no movement whatsoever on a stand. The amount of movement I am talking about is enough for it to take 2hours for it to get across the arena and with enough power that you can stop it with your hand. As I say, maybe that with 100kg sat on top of it it just isnt an issue. That said a quick hand to sort it out on Sunday wouldnt go amiss.

I seem to remember you can increase the deadband on the Roboteq to stop it twitching.

WOW! For the second time today I might have to resort to ...(god forbid)...reading the instructions!

If youve got a roboteq, should have no problem having the wheels not moving in neutral...if they are moving.... something is wrong!!

Anyone got a pc lead they can bring to Guildford for the Roboteq. I think it is something I have to access from that.

well I have organised the campsite as per last year... however made a last minute change of plan and decided that it would be too much for us to camp, get up, take a tent down, go to the venue for 7am, build an arena, two shows, and drive home, so decided to go posh ...

If people are still camping, then we will come to you and have a big BBQ together, failing that we will invade the local restrant / bar,

We will be of course heading to the venue on saturday afternoon for bowling and ice skating.
Last year we had great fun, so hopefully this will be the same !!!

I was planning on camping because I cant really afford a hotel, Is anyone else camping aside from me and Matt ?

Also, I still need a lift from Guildford train station, otherwise I have to fork out for a taxi

Remember this is also the Tanja Memorial event fight, so bring something pink !!
