I thought the first suicidal tendencies was a semi finallist? Ive also got a counter feeling that Im wrong...
Nope, series 3 and 4 it went out in the heat final on dodgey judges decisions, and in series 5 it got into the 2nd round but pulled out due to technical problems
And it didnt win any side contests?
It competed in two, the Northern Annihilator of series 4 (where it came 4th) and the Tag Team Terror of RWE1 (with Steel Avenger, where they were runners-up to Diotoir and Pussycat). That alone may cause a problem.
I wouldnt have said the S3 decision was dodgy, personally. The S4, definately, but not the S3 one.
But didnt the Tag Team Terror of RWE1 only have 4 teams?
No, it had eight.
1: King B Powerworks and 101
2: Diotoir and Mega Morg (later Pussycat)
3: Major Tom and Bigger Brother
4: Comengetorix and Spawn Again
5: Napalm and Sir Chromalot
6: Steel Avenger and Suicidal Tendencies
7: Cerberus and Thermidor 2
8: S.M.I.D.S.Y and Sumpthing
Long story short, Suicidal Tendencies would be fine.
Martyn, I found the stats of The Deer for you (If you wonder why Im finding other peoples stats, its because I wish to see this tournument start.) The Deer looks good - it might be the underdog, if I dont answer to it  (Thats a joke)
NAME- The deer (was crusher chaos)
SHAPE- Invertible box
COLOR- the robot and claws are a dark green color
WEIGHT- 100kg
DIMENSIONS- 1m x 80cm x 25cm (l,w,h)
SPEED- 15mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0mm
GROUND CLEARANCE- It has 6mm at the front due to the claws and has 0mm at the sides and rear due to the skirts, without skirts 6mm. The skirts also work both ways up.
ARMOUR- 3.6mm hardox
MOVEMENT- 4 inner wheels that make the robot invertible
POWER- 2 x S28 Magmotors on 24v.
WEAPONS- it has a front pair of horizontal hydraulic crushing claws set up like deers antlers (shaped like those you find in extreme destruction.) The claws have 3.5 tones of crushing force on the front tips of the claws at the middle is 6tones and right at the back it has 8 tones of crush. The claws are powered by hydraulics through a 120mm bore rams at 3000psi
NOTES- invertible, wide base means the deer wont topple while crushing
STRENGTHS- Very powerful weapon
WEAKNESSES- it could be turned into venison
erm they arent the current stats of the deer
I dont check the internet for 2 days and this thing explodes out of now where :proud: Lucky I got that reservation in early
My two entries are as follows:
Spyder - Vapour - Stats still being ironed out, CAD drawing in process (Calculating weights, speeds, weapon power etc etc)
Tornado Mer - Real - http://www.buildersdb.com/botpics/173.jpghttp://www.buildersdb.com/botpics/173.jpg
Sorry Martyn - its just they were the stats found in Mechanical Noise 2.
OK, after lurking around here for... roughly a year now, Ive actually made a vapourbot.
NAME- Death Threat 0.1
SHAPE- Long box with rounded back,
COLOUR- dull grey all over
WEIGHT- about 100kg
DIMENSIONS- L:95cm W:30 cm H:30cm
SPEED- 10mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0m
GROUND CLEARANCE- 10mm all over
ARMOUR- 5mm titanium
MOVEMENT- Tracks with 2XBosch Motors with 3 Ni-cad battery packs at 24 Volts
WEAPONS- Horizontal crushing claws at front made out of titanium with 4.25 tons of crushing power
SRIMECH- Invertible. Side spikes to stop it resting on its side
Feel free to yell at me if its unrealistic. Thats why Im entering really, to gain some experience and get some advice.
My real robot will be Ripper, please.
Looking good to me, Danny. The one Id say is to make Death Threat wider, more towards the 70cm mark. Those jaws cont catch much if the bots only 30cm wide.
OK, I think I might cut off the Reserve entrants at 4. Partly because I dont want to give myself too much work again - Ive got plans for other fiddly things over the holidays - and partly to get the tourny off to a start.
CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRANTS:

7) Death Threat 0.1 (Danny B)
8) Ripper (RW7)
As soon as Aaron and Matty post their stats, I can stick up the draw. :)
Like Steven said its a bit narrow, for Hydraulics you need some space anyway so you might want to go like 70-80cm, so more boxier. You will want some width anyway to be able to grab opponents. Apart from that the stats look very doable to me. The specs are not far off from Kan-opener although their Spec has more bite.
Not bad at all for a first vapour.

Bah humbug :P
And I had a new design I wanted to try out
Ok, consider it changed to 70. I cant edit it now and it seems too small a thing to repost the stats for, but I will if it would make things easier.
Ill have a render done tonight.
For now, I have the stats pretty much ironed out. A few small things might change yet, mainly to do with the weights. I havent finished the render yet, so I cannot say the weights are 100% accurate.

Name: Spyder
Weight: 141.5 KG
Size (L/W/H): 450mm x 700mm x 300mm
Speed: 8MPH
Ground Clearance: 8mm all round
Drive: Spyder has an 8 legged walking system that is based on the Spidercar system (Video: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/546941/spider_car/http://www.metacafe.com/watch/546941/spider_car/ or a smaller robot version here: http://www.nswrfc.org/video/Marayong_7_07/Gamul.wmvhttp://www.nswrfc.org/video/Marayong_7_07/Gamul.wmv) driven by 2 x LEM130 motors @ 36.3v geared 6:1, to avoid the slipping problem as shown in the videos, the legs have a pivoting foot with 40A Durometer Urethane tread bonded to it for traction. The walking system provides a stride length of 125mm per leg (Two strides per RPM, therefore 250mm travel). LEM130 RPM is ~5200RPM @ 36v, geared down 6:1 provides the leg mechanism with ~860RPM, which with the calculated leg stride, provides a nice 8MPH. Not the fastest thing on 4 wheels... I mean 8 legs, but is a good comprimise between speed and manuverability, as if the legs were sped up to around the 2000RPM mark, they would probably river dance and spend most of the time slipping and going no where (The equivelent to wheel spin :proud:)
Weapon: The weapon is a Full Body Hammer, something Ive yet to see done. This is a different approach to hammer bots, boardering closer to a thwackbot. Spyder uses 2 x LEM130s geared 20:1 to flip the middle of the body over like a hammer. Instead of just hitting with a 10kg hammer driven by an Etek (Beta was damn good at it!) Spyder hits the opponent with a body hammer in close to 35kg! This provides a lot more kinetic energy into the weapon, since the weight of the weapon motors, batteries and gearing is used as apart of the hammer weight.
Armour/Chassis: A combination of 25mm x 25mm x 3mm box section chassis, 4mm Hardox 500 front, side & rear and 3.2mm Hardox 450 base plate
Batteries: 110 x A123 LiNP cells, configured in 2 x 11S3P packs for the drive and 1 x 11S4P pack for the weapon. Produces a combined 36.3v @ 13.8AMP/Hours
Notes: Its a Walker! :proud: Can selfright via the weapon.
Rough weight Distribution - To be clarified on the completion of the CAD
Drive: 35 KG
Batteries: 8.5 KG
Armour/Chassis: 60 KG
Weapon: 35 KG
Electronics: 3 KG
Total: 141.5 KG
Aaron, you better have decent shockproofing for that nasty piece of work. :proud:
like the idea, but very flipable, yea it can self but..... if u were unlucky enough to get 2 flippers youd spend most of the time running in the air,
that said the idea is sound, its abit mechadon esq, but alot more damaging. I like the plan mate ur weights are spot on by the way but in reality it would proberbly be heavier it sounds like a massive project, but a worth while one
Can I ask about Spyder?
The way I see it is a walker, that hits things with its axe, which can cause a lot of damage because the batteries, motors and armour is all mounted on the axe?
I was just asking so I understand.
PS: WHEN CAN WE START?!!!!
Jeez, be a little more patient.
I am patient, I just (like everyone who has entered) want this competition to start.
Spyder is hybrid of a few designs, its a walker/axlebot/hammerbot :P I really need to get the render done, but Ive had a terrible week with regards to getting anything done.
its a shufflebot still, it uses a cam to drive the legs, not actuators, but that takes nothing away from it, its a superb design and i cannot wait to see the renders
Its the same idea for shufflebot as our first opponent in BNN robotwars series 2, Namazu.

Yeah, its more of a shuffle bot, but its closer to a walker then Anarchy and Son of Whyachi :proud: And it uses cranks, not cams :lame:
im not really trying to be a pain in the arm pits but i got alot of stick for calling shufflers walkers once so im returning the favour, now stop ready this and do the bloody pics!
Erm...bump?
erm... stop bumping
Erm...sorry? :proud:
PS: +2>verdanaarialhelvetica>BUMP!}
Paul really, stop that.
Seriously, sorry . Im just really possesive about being a good member of this forum, and Im not a naturally patient person, as a result of my Autism, and I find it a constant annoyance when the only comments about anything on this forum are usually only yours.
Its really annoying when there are only two people posting in every day.
Seriously Paul, you need to tone down your expectations for this forum. This is by far the most action there has been in the facfic section for 2 or 3 years, and if youre looking for even more posts now youll have a huge shock when it goes into a period of no posts for a month like it has before.
So far youre doing great as a new member of this forum but at times youre going to have to accept that from time to time it is going to be dead in this section as other people have far more important things to do.
Couldnt have said it any better myself AJ. :proud:
Wow, AJ after his gold medal for diplomacy... whatever next? Frank without a cup of coffee? Roper coming back :proud:
Answers on a postcard...
Okay, I want to switch Seung Mina II with a newly designed bot, if thats okay Steve...
Its a design Ive had in my head for a while now, and I finally have stats up for it. :proud:
AVARICE
Shape: I was thinking Slam Job with the middle cut-off, but I decided to go for a Tornado with more of a rounded front end. There is a small front scoop there to defend against wedge attacks, and the usual titanium skirting on the sides and rear.
Colour: Dark orange. Axe head is red.
Weight: 100kg
Speed: 7mph, its not meant to be really fast, but its geared to acceleration.
Drive: 4 S28-150 Magmotors, run at 36v. Very light and still give off pretty good power, especially when there are four of them. :)
Power: 8 CP2400R NiCad Battlepacks, 36v, 2 for each of the MagMotors.
Motivation: Now, this is one of two things that makes this bot unique. It uses Omni-directional drive, exactly like BB middleweight Root Canal; it is 4WD, but instead of tires it uses rollers, with a very thin layer of vulkalon put on them for reassuring but not too reassuring grip on the arena floor. This will allow Avarice to not only go forward, backward, or spin around, but also go diagonally, or strafe from side to side, completely avoiding opposing attackers. Each of the S28s powers a wheel, giving it a good boost of power. Using rollers means it sacrifices speed and traction but thats okay for the huge amount of maneouverability Im gaining.
Armour: 5mm 6063 aircraft aluminum on the top and bottom, and there is 9mm HDPE on the sides.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at the scoop and skirts, and without them its 4mm.
Turning Circle: Absolutely positively 100% ZERO turning circle!!! :proud:
Dimensions in CM: Unknown, trying to get a CAD of it done...
Weaponry: Heheh...this is the other half that makes this bot unique: a 360 double-sided axe. It is like Terrorhurtzs axe, except it has a longer reach, and the head is different: it starts like an axe at the bottom of the head then broadens and becomes like a hammer, meaning when it comes down it will split armour and then make it the hole wider, and it is like that on both sides. What it makes it a rotating axe is a turret ala Tazbot, controlled independently with its own turn motor and speed controller. It rotates not only the axe but the pneumatics and rack-and-pinion mechanism inside. The axe itself is powered by 2 2.5kg CO2 bottles, which should provide enough power to serious hurt some armours, and its got about 30 shots. Not only that, but it has small hardox spikes on the side of the head; being an omnibot, Avarice can spin REALLY fast and so if the axe runs out of CO2 it can act as a thwackbot, and bludgeon some armours with those spikes. If the turret is working, it can also spin the axe making it go even faster, and damage armours even further...
Srimech: Axe.
Strengths: Maneouverability is crazy, extremely versatile and damaging weapon, good acceleration. Unique design.
Weaknesses: Poor armour, limited CO2, cant right itself when axe malfunctions, crappy top speed. No picture yet. (but I WILL get a CAD of it done soon!)
Let the critiquing begin... :proud:
Matt, if youre reading this, please get your stats in! (:proud:)
Paul if you are reading this stop treating this like it is your tournament
IM NOT TREATING LIKE MY TOURNY!
Im just annoyed that Matt has said reverve me a spot and leaves us waiting for weeks, when everyone has got their stats and entries in, and he still needs ONE entrance extra.
Im NOT treating it like my tourny, I just want to get on with this!
(:angry::angry::angry::sad:)
Paul! Believe it or not there are more important things than a tournament.
I was recently made homeless and right now my priority is to get my affairs sorted and find somewhere to live, because I would rather have a roof over my head than worry about getting some stats together for something that is no more than a bit of fun.
OK? Now please, shut up and let me do what I need to do as opposed to you who is doing what at the very least other people should.
Thank you.
