It depends on how much proofing Storm 2 has to defend it from the shock of getting flipped.
And also, it took no damage from Kronic in 2005. How the *&^%$£! is Merlin going to hurt it.

I remember in exeter(i was in crowd).
I think it was a four way melee fight and two of the robots where nightmare and constricter.
Nightmare flipped it a few times then constricter got stuck on top of nightmare and it went to the judges.
They gave it to constricter.........WRONG!!!
Definitly nightmare won!

Talking about Merlin...You even lost to Big Nipper at Magna when we got Mute into the pit, Merlin got behind us and pushed us into the pit as well, then while Merlin was wasting its gas doing its victory spin, Mute flipped us out and we went on to win...Maybe the Storm one was to make up for that :)
Ah well, you win some, you loose some, just Big Nipper tends to be better at the first one!

And also Tom, Alan, David. *Looking to bring back up our debating* (Given Toms turned in, Ill get started since Im awake:lol:) Why are you saying that the reason Merlin looked like it was moving slowly is because Im comparing its speed to the speed of Storm 2.
The last I heard, Merlin could move at 15mph. After/During the Storm 2 fight, it only moved at 12mph! :talker:
I think that counts as less speed and more damage.
I will now say that I think that Storm 2 was extremely unlucky to lose against Merlin.
But I will now also say that Merlin was unlucky in its semi-final choices. Even if Iron Awe 3 lost (which I thought it would), I dont think you wouldve beaten Turbulence.

But you say you dont think it would of beat turbulence,when a lot of people thought it wouldnt of beaten storm II-but it did.
I think with a robot of merlins quality,you can never count it out.
Your entitled to your opinion, as I have already said, Merlin was moving slower at the beginning of the fight, therefore storm 2 does not get the points for damage it did not cause.

Behemoth was in the was in the final of the Winter Tour not Turbulence.

1)Dan, Merlins a good robot. But Turbulence was the flipping great UK Champion:mrgreen:!:rofl:! Merlin cant match that! Turbulence (new or old) wouldve sent it flying!

Actually Alan, you have a point, but I have another - since when did I say Turbulence would beat Behemoth? I just said that Merlin wouldnt beat Turbulence due to things like ground clearance and flipper power.
I mean I would love to see a battle between you and Turbulence (And Ive seen the one youve currently got on YouTube:wink:)
I would not be so sure that Merlin wouldnt beat Turbulence, on whatever criterea yoy want to base your assumption on.
I think merlin and turb have only been in the arena 3 times together (twice with old turb, once with new turb). These have always been melees, i think the result stands atm Merlin: 2, Turb: 1. But with a melee you cant judge what robot is better.

its all on the day to which robot will win. on paper specs are good to decide which robot is better but in the arena is a totally different matter. on the back of the uk champs i went to portsmouth with high hopes and didnt win a battle.
David, I meant the final battle at Godmanchester.
And Im basing the results on (Ive already said this:angry:)ground clearance and flipper power.
And I meant you would lose to Turb in a 1 on 1. In melees you can attack a machine that is distracted attacking someone else. But in 1 on 1s, its a lot closer.
I actually would like to see a 1 on 1 with Turbulence and Merlin. Good fight it would be. But Id back Turbulence :mrgreen:
The old turb merlin did get under. Not sure on the new one.
Based on Turbs performance in the UK champs and Hemel H. Merlin would win. But Turb is still a work in progress and im sure it is improved since then.
It may have improved since then, but I didnt notice a problem in Turbs performances.
