Yeah i did attualy just get up when i posted that above - as we all went out last night to Loydds bar birthday night till 5am. LOL. But i wasnt attualy on my laptop in my bed - thats just wrong.

Though youll be happy to know i got an A+ for Advance Web Site Design and E-Commerce Solution, though i have caused a stir at the Uni as no one has had an A+ in 3 years, so there getting other external examiners to check it. eeek - Cant win! Do a naff assignment the tutor moans, do a good one, they moan even more!

Yeah id do a whicked team site with flash and all the new stuff ive learnt in the past few modules at Uni in Advanced Web Design it woul be awesome, but time is moeny and time is - well i have no time. Jonnos taking up all my time.

Anyway back on track - sign ups are now online.
Sign up - also you maybe receiving a team info and robot info sheet to fill in if you have not already filled one in from Swindon or Barnsley event. This is for the new RR system to go fully live at Colchester, so we need to make sure everyones in the system.

Hi Guys,

Well less than two weeks to go until the longest running event in Robot World continues for yet a another year€¦ the Robot Rumble !!!
This year is looking like its going to be yet another one to remember, with good robot numbers, and tickets selling fast, its all looking good !!
The Saturday night show has now sold out, and we have had to stop selling, and Sunday is getting busier each day.

We have now confirmed a few more things for the event.

Format

The event will feature a main competition which will run throughout the event leading us to finals for both heavyweight and featherweight. More info on that next week.

Judges

2008 will yet again see the return of our €œ celebrity €œ judge Rex Garratt, however will be partnered by Andy Kane this year, remember, the judges decision is final !! :o)

Trophies and Prizes

The Robot Rumble wouldn€™t be the same without the presence of some special trophies, and yet again we will be offering 2 fabulous trophies made by Rex himself. Unfortunately they wont be present at the event as they cant be finished as the dopy bloke has managed to half cut off his thumb with an angle grinder and is currently off work.
However they will be finished and sent on to our winners at a later date.

The event is once again being sponsored by Rapid Electronics, and we will be lucky enough to have the top chief from Rapid along for the last show to present the prizes to the winners plus lots of free goodies.

Each of the top three placed robots in both Heavyweight and Featherweight will receive an Easter Egg€¦. A certificate€¦and a 25 pound voucher to spend at Rapid.
Plus€¦ 1st prize - Big Tool Box 2nd prize - Trolley 3rd prize - Rechargeable Torch.

Think that€™s about it for now.
There will be a further update early next week with the final information.

Geoff Thorpe is certainly working hard behind the scenes to give us a good couple of days.

Its about time Geoff Thorpe got a mention, it is after all his show! He is promoting, advertising (with sponsership From Rapid Electronics) and paying for it as he has all the Robot Rumbles in the past.

We are hoping to come to this, Turb needs a couple of things done to make sure it passes tech check (things learned since FRA training day). Not signed up yet, but I will as soon as im sure it will be ready. I dont like pulling out of events, better to say maybe than to pull out.

I will be bringing some short lengths of red and black tri rated cable with me to colchester in 1.5mm, 2.5mm,4.0mm and 6.0mm . If any body needs some its free on a first come first served basis.
I am trying to get some sample silcone cables from friendly suppliers and will bring these if possible. Anyone needing anything specific let me know and i will see what i can do.

sorry guys i wont be there this weekend, with lots of stuff on my plate for Rebel Robots, and to top it all i have a slipped disc and trapped nerves in my back which ismaking getting around rather painfull

Hydra is loaded up and ready to go and will be there bright and early tomorrow.

Got a few problems which hopefully someone can help me with.

1) My new fire extinguisher hasnt come and the one Ive got is a 2001 version so its out of date. Anyone got a spare 2kg one I can borrow for the event.

2) The power light isnt wired in. Seems simple enough to do but I just need someone to point me in the right direction as to where to connect it. (Which side to make it comply with the rules)

3) I have a new Spektrum DX6i. Any chance someone can show me how to bind this etc. Instructions from Spektrum dont seem that clear. I dont need to do this straight away as Ive borrowed Denniss RC gear so maybe it would be good after the Saturday show.

Will probably have a greater list of demands by the time I get there, so bear with me if you would.:uhoh:

Hi Andy, Geoff will be there tomorrow and will help you with your power light and specktum problems.

We have at least one newish bottle, but it doesnt have a valve on. Probably just be able to swap the valve on your old bottle, dont see a problem as long as the valve is in good condition.
