AJWars: A New Era...
Mass Confuzzlement vs. Dysfunction 2.0
Mass Confis weapon may not bve the most devestating around, but theres four of them, and theyre everywhere! I think theyll give Dysfunction a hard time, and will even lead to his downfall.
L I A R vs. Trojan
dunno about Alex tactics yet, but spinners tend to go for the back of flippers, if so, twack around, get under, and flip, if he wants to eat my front, Ill give him the full power of my flipper
Quocunque Jeceris Stabit vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus
pfff... Die-Ceratops ftw, hes a real good flipper
Back 2 Basics vs. The Botles Reunited
dang hard to decide... I think none of the Botles has enough weight to put the amount of force on B2Bs needed to penetrate the skirts, therefore, B2B ftw

AJWars: A New Era...
Thanks for the tactics and predictions! Now who wants some fights? :proud:
Round 1
Quocunque Jeceris Stabit vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus
Quocunque Jeceris Stabit is a basic wedge shape with a curved rear. It€™s offence comes from a simple Chaos 2 style flipper, while its defence comes from 5mm thick Aluminium. Its two Bosch 750€™s provide a top speed of around 25mph.
Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus is largely modelled on Wheely Big Cheese. It also has a flipper, although it is much larger and more powerful than it€™s opponents. It is armoured in 8mm thick Titanium which gives it decent protection. It has a top speed of 15mph coming from its two MagMotors.
3€¦2€¦1€¦Activate!
Die-Ceratops gets a slightly quicker start but is soon met by Quocunque Jeceris Stabit who slides under first and gets a flip in, sending Die-Ceratops up in the air but straight back down on it€™s wheels. This time Quocunque Jeceris Stabit approaches from the side, flipping again and sending Die-Ceratops spinning 360 degrees through the air.
But Die-Ceratops retaliates by turning on the spot and sliding its flipper under Quocunque Jeceris Stabit and launching it up and over. Quocunque Jeceris Stabit quickly hits back by firing its self-righting mechanism and driving away to safety. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus follows it across the ring but Quocunque Jeceris Stabit swings in and sends Die-Ceratops onto its back again. Quocunque Jeceris Stabit then pushes Die-Ceratops across the ring and flips!
Die-Ceratops lands awkwardly against the arena wall, but fires the flipper and it drops back down right side up. Quocunque Jeceris Stabit goes for another flip, but flips itself over in the process! Die-Ceratops takes advantage and quickly follows up by flipping it again, sending it spinning through the air and onto it€™s back again. Die-Ceratops then goes for a flip, but this time it misses and fires itself over. Quocunque Jeceris Stabit quickly rights itself and gets to the rear of Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus and flips it up in the air slightly, causing little effect due to Die-Ceratops€™ length.
The green robot spins on the spot and drives under the side of Quocunque Jeceris Stabit. This time Die-Ceratops hurtles towards the arena wall and then fires the flipper! Quocunque Jeceris Stabit flies into the air and comes back down with a thump onto the camera track.
Cease!
Quocunque Jeceris Stabit is tossed over the arena wall and Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus goes through to Round 2!

AJWars: A New Era...
Round 1
Liar vs. Trojan
Liar is an interesting variation on the classic box wedge shape. With it€™s S28-400 Magmotors, an 18mph top speed and 8mm Titanium armour this is a decent all rounder. But the key to this robot is it€™s unique flipper. Beyond the classic rear hinged flipper this robot also has two side wedges attached to its flipper to provide some defence from the side and when the robot is in danger in can spin on the spot in €˜defence mode€™.
Trojan is an interesting translational spinner. Unlike full body spinners or ring spinners this robots spinning motion comes by spinning on the spot, but the great thing about this robot is it can spin around and drive forwards on its wheels at the same time! This motion comes from C40-500 Magmotors while protection comes from Kevlar and Titanium.
3€¦2€¦1€¦Activate!
Trojan immediately starts spinning on the spot and Liar comes flying across the ring to stop it. Trojan quickly moves out the way and then moves back in to strike the side of Liar, knocking it away. The flipper bot then turns and drives back first into Trojan, slowing it down, Liar then quickly spins on the spot to slide the wedge under Trojan and tosses it onto its back!
Trojan replies by operating is self righting arm and gets back on its feet and starts spinning and driving away to safely. Liar pursues it, but wishes it hadn€™t when Trojan crashes back in causing a dent in the 8mm Titanium armour. But now slowed down again Liar comes back in with another flip turning Trojan over. Trojan once again rights itself, but Liar comes in and flips it straight back over again into the corner.
Liar tries another flip to get Trojan out of the arena but doesn€™t get enough on the flip and just turns Trojan back the right way up. This allows Trojan to fly out of the corner and start spinning up to speed in the middle of the ring. Liar manages to get itself out of the corner and also decides to start spinning on the spot! But Trojan isn€™t amused and flies in to attack Liar, causing both robots to fly off to opposite ends of the ring.
A small tear in the armour of Liar is now apparent. Trojan now begins to start spinning in the opposite direction. Liar goes for it all and just charges head first at Trojan! And with a thud, Liar hits Trojan and gets flipped up in the air and back down on top of Trojan. Martijn fires the flipper and Liar bounces down next to Trojan. But Trojan is now completely slowed down and Liar takes advantage, getting a flip in and sending Trojan onto its back for not the first time in this match.
Trojan again replies by righting itself and rolling to safety. Liar realises there is a stalemate and instead travels to the opposite end of the ring to open up the pit. The siren sounds and the pit begins to sink lower and lower and Trojan hurtles in on the attack, almost rebounding itself straight into the just opened pit!
Liar gets away with yet another gash on its side and gets to the middle of the arena as Trojan manoeuvres around the pit and back on the attack, going straight for Liar€™s flipper! But the teeth to wedge conflict just stops both robots dead in their tracks. Liar takes first advantage by driving Trojan up the wedge and moves towards the arena wall firing the flipper!
But rather than going forwards as planned, Trojan gets fired backwards back into the middle of the ring! Trojan immediately starts spinning and collides with the back of Liar causing a hole in the back end. And Liar seems to have stopped moving! And Trojan is spinning faster and faster and comes back in for the attack again and both robots go flying across the ring! Trojan is right on the edge of the pit and one if its wheels is over the edge and it cannot seem to move, while Liar seems to have taken a beating and can€™t move either!
Liar fires its flipper and suddenly it€™s away! As it moves away it was apart a shard of metal was holding it up. Liar then moves in for the kill and gives Trojan a nudge, knocking it down into the pit!
Cease!
Trojan is pitted and Liar moves on to the next round!

Great to see you back at the writers desk, AJ.
AJWARS: A NEW ERA
ELIMINATORS
Back 2 Basics VS THE BOTLES REUNITED
John, George and Ringo will buzz around B2B and generally distract him while Paul releases the Pit. Once lowered, all four members will gang up on B2B from the side (John and Paul leading, given their low fronts) and try to shove him into the ol black hole. Theyre pretty pushy for lightweights and if the whole band attacks at once, I think theres a good chance they can survive - provided they havent all been thrown offstage by then. :lame:
-
AJWars: A New Era...
Speed: 12MPH - Not super fast, but when there are four of them running around, confuzzlement makes up for lower speeds :proud: They should still have a fair bit of push behind them for their size.
GC: The front plate is 0mm and the rear is 12.5mm
As for tactics:
Mass Confuzzlement vs. Dysfunction 2.0
Just bum rush him. Attack for every side and just keep close to him, and stop him from spinning up. Use dirty tactics, pin him against the wall and hold him for 25seconds, release then ram back in and pin again. Keep doing for the whole match. Not not do much damage to him, but we can try to win on control, aggression and dirty tactics... I mean style :lame:
Ever tried swatting flys with a sledge hammer?

AJWars: A New Era...
Awfully sorry, Im afraid I wont be able to get a pic of Dysfunction 2.0 up, whether it be Paint or Rhino3D. Been a tad busy with Fathers Day shopping and my home computer is still being a bi0tch.
Eventually, Ill get it up, but go ahead and write the fight anyway. :)

AJWars: A New Era...
Round 1
Back 2 Basics vs. The Botles Reunited
Back 2 Basics is quite simply your classic wedge/flipper robot. It has a top speed of 8.5mph coming from its Dustin Motors, which also provide over 4hp of push. It is armoured in 7mm Ti/V. Its main weapon is a classic flipper, however it is powered by Helium rather than CO2 providing more than enough flips. Another key feature is it€™s heavy front wedge to aid with getting under others.
The Botles Reunited is a four-part clusterbot! Each is a skirted box shape with 5mm Titanium armouring. Each is driven by two DeWalt motors at 24v providing a bit of push. But here is the fun part, each of the four members have a different weapon set up each: John with a wedge and grabbers, Paul with a scoop and spike, George with a horizontal disc and Ringo with a vertical drum.
3€¦2€¦1€¦Activate!
The clusterbot splits up and we are away! Back 2 Basics goes straight for the crowd but the more nippy lightweights get out of the way. Meanwhile, Paul has already ventured to the other side of the ring and hit the pit release, and the ominous hole slumps downwards.
John, George and Ringo are having run nagging at the sides of Back 2 Basics who isn€™t sure what to do. As is stands, Ringo and George€™s spinners are causing only cosmetic scrapes on the armour and no real damage. B2B turns around and goes straight for John, driving forwards, sliding under the skirts and tossing it high into the air! John lands with a thump on its side and bounces back down on its wheels.
Paul, George and Ringo then all make up for the departed member by all teaming together to get behind B2B and shove it against the arena wall. But the heavyweight robot simply shrugs them off, turns into the pack and fires its flipper. The flip just caught the skirting of Paul, and the 25kg cluster I send overhead.
But all four parts retaliate, using their combined force to drive B2B into the corner of the arena and against the walls. Ringo and George then drive repeated spinner attacks at the side of B2B while Paul and John pin it against the side. B2B flips and shakes itself free slightly and it managed to slide right under John in the process and fires the flipper, launching John right out of the arena!
One member has taken a stage dive, but the rest of The Botles prove the show must go on as they slam B2B back against the arena wall. But once again, B2B powers its way out. This time the three-man band all move to one side of B2B and start pushing it across the arena!
B2B€™s response it to reverse and get away, this causes all three members to suddenly jolt forwards as they push thin air. B2B then comes back on the attack, sliding straight under the side skirting of George and tossing him skywards. Ringo and Paul then come back in on the attack straight away and sandwich B2B from both sides!
B2B bounces conveniently into the scoop of Paul, who pushes it against the side wall and pokes out its pneumatic spike, remarkably rolling B2B onto its side against the wall! Both Ringo and George then charge at the underbelly, causing a small horizontal and vertical dent in the bottom.
From there B2B fires its flipper furiously, bouncing down onto its wheels before eating some of George€™s spinning disc. Paul then comes in on the attack but rides straight up and over the top of B2B! Ringo then comes in for the charge and hits B2B with a disc attack too!
B2B turns on the spot and heads straight for Paul and drives the cluster into the corner and flips! But nobody is home as Paul scuttles off the flipper just in time. B2B turns round again and is confronted by Ringo who gets projected into the air and comes back down with a thud right on top of Paul! B2B sees its opportunity and rams both Ringo and Paul into the nearby pit. And with over 50% out, the whole machine is out despite the last attack from George.
Cease!
The Botles took a worldwide tour of the pit and is eliminated!

AJWars: A New Era...
Round 1
Mass Confuzzlement vs. Dysfunction 2.0
Mass Confuzzlement is the second four-way clusterbot to appear in this competition. Each identical piece is made up of 3mm Steel armouring and is driven by two S28-150 Magmotors giving a top speed of 12mph. The interesting concept of this robot is its weaponry - designed like a cheese grater.
Dysfunction 2.0 is wedge shaped and armoured in 7mm Titanium. It€™s drive consists of S28-400 Magmotors providing speeds of 12mph. It also has an interesting weaponry set-up consisting of dual drums designed to flip robots up and a flipping arm resting between them.
3€¦2€¦1€¦Activate!
Mass Confuzzlement splits and all four parts go straight for Dysfunction, who also goes straight for the clusters! Dysfunction slides under one part and tosses it skywards, but that allows another two parts to slide under and push Dysfunction across the ring and into the corner. The other two parts then join in and all four parts repeatedly slam Dysfunction into the corner in tandem.
Dysfunction fires the flipper to try and escape but all four members keep pinning and slamming it against the arena wall. Kody knows he cannot drive over the top for fear of shredding the tyres. But that moment, luck strikes as one of the parts drives straight into one of Dysfunction€™s drums and spins away, allowing Dysfunction to get away and wisely get into the middle off the ring.
The clusters then attack from all angles, ramming and bumping into Dysfunction and sliding under the bottom. The word confuzzlement comes to mind as the four parts come flying from all angles and bump and barge into the sides and slide under the bottom of Dysfunction over and over again.
One of the clusters then wonders off too open up the pit while the other three again back Dysfunction into a wall. One of the parts again makes the mistake of hitting the drums and flips over while Dysfunction again manages to break free.
The drum hit part flies straight back in but this time tastes the flipper as the fourth part joins back in and the three start to push Dysfunction across the ring and right across the edge of the pit. All four pieces then come back on the assault in the corner of the ring.
Dysfunction flips and gets away over the top of one of the clusters but before it can even get free all four parts slide under and drive it forwards, dumping it into the pit.
Cease!
Dysfunction malfunctioned, and Mass Confuzzlement goes through!
And now its time for Round 2 draw! :)

Round 2
Liar vs. Back 2 Basics
Liar got to this stage after its opponent, Trojan, got stuck on the edge of the pit and the flipper bot finished it off. During the match it had appeared Liar stopped working but it simply got stuck on debris caused by it€™s opponent.
Back 2 Basics meanwhile had a hard time against the four-way clusterbot The Botles Reunited but eventually used its weight and power advantage to toss one part over the arena wall and another two parts down the pit.
3€¦2€¦1€¦Activate!
Back 2 Basics is first away and goes for the side of Liar, but the Dutch robot starts off in flail mode and spins around on the spot. Back 2 Basics decides to go for it anyway and moves in, with the impact jolting both competitors slightly. B2B then moves in, slides under the side of Liar and fires it over.
Liar responds by quickly operating its own flipper and self-righting. Liar then does a turn, looking to attack the sides of Back 2 Basics but the skirts protect any sort of offence. This allows Back 2 Basics to instead get to the side of Liar and toss it over again. And again Liar responds by springing back to its wheels.
This time Liar gets a run up and manages to slide the front wedge under B2B€™s skirts, and sends it onto its back this time. This time it is B2B€™s turn to self right and does so effectively. Liar sees the opportunity to attack again, this time driving under the exposed rear of B2B and flipping it 360 degrees through the air and back down right way up.
Back 2 Basics this time gets away to safety and both robots line up for a head to head charge. The two flipper bots drive towards each other and collide at the front, but B2B€™s heavy front wedge extension means that it slides right under Liar and has control to push it wherever it likes.
B2B heads straight forwards to the arena wall, Liar fires its flipper to try and get away but gets rammed right into the edge. This is followed up by a flip from B2B but it only just catches Liar and causes it to bounce back down again. Liar then goes into flail mode again. B2B this time attacks with the rear to save any damage but allows Liar to conveniently slide under.
This time it is Liar€™s turn to push B2B across the ring and flips in the arena centre, sending Back 2 Basics spinning in the air and bouncing back down on its back. B2B quickly self rights but Liar is on the attack again and flips! B2B again has to right itself but Liar collects it on the wedge again and drives it into the corner.
B2B bounces off the wall and manages to turn round and slide under Liar and flips! Liar is very close to being tossed right over the fence. The flipper on Liar fires again but this time it nearly fires itself out the arena! B2B comes in for a slam but eats the wall as Liar darts out the way to safety.
Both robots drive out into the arena centre. Both robots go for each others sides at the same time and flip! But neither one catches each other and Liar even ends up flipping itself over. It rights itself once again but B2B comes straight back on the attack with another flip. Liar flips and bounces back down again.
Meanwhile B2B has now wondered off to hit the pit release, looking to dispose Liar the same way it did with The Botles. However on the other hand, Liar could also dispose of B2B the same way it did with Trojan!
Liar comes in with a charge and bumps into B2B, hitting it against the pit release tyre again. B2B manages to get away and turns, it comes back on the attack and slides under Liar and flips! B2B then goes for the slam to put Liar in the pit, but Liar rights itself just in time and managed to get away, almost causing B2B to drive itself down the pit!
Both robots come back on the attack, B2B again getting under Liar in a head on collision and now B2B edges around, trying to steer Liar towards the pit! Liar flips and rolls back down the wedge of B2B and is just about to get away when B2B catches it at the last second with a flip.
Liar rights itself quickly and B2B comes back on the attack, this time Liar gets the advantage as B2B drives right up the wedge and Liar fires its flipper, sending Back 2 Basics into the corner of the arena. Liar comes on the attack quickly but B2B moves out the way. B2B turns round and flips! Liar bounces right against the top of the arena wall and comes crashing down into the ring again.
B2B replies with another flip! But this time it only turns itself over! B2B rights itself but gets caught up right on top of the arena wall! The wheels are spinning in mid-air and going nowhere fast. The flipper on B2B fires but nothing is working! Liar comes back in slowly and manoeuvres itself under B2B€¦ and flips!
B2B is tossed up and comes back down with a thud onto the camera track outside the arena. Liar spins in victory in the middle of the arena, knowing it has a place in the final.
Cease!
It€™s Back 2 The Drawing Board for Back 2 Basics, Liar goes through!

Round 2
Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus vs. Mass Confuzzlement
Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus easily flipped Quocunque Jeceris Stabit out of the arena in its Round 1 match to get this far.
Mass Confuzzlement pulled off a victory against Dysfunction 2.0 after all four parts ganged up, pinned Dysfunction against the arena walls and then drove it into the pit.
3€¦2€¦1€¦Activate!
The clusterbot gets away first, splitting into four and racing towards Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus. The big flipper bot goes for an attack but the pack splits and surrounds Die-Ceratops from all angles. The parts of Mass Confuzzlement start buzzing around Die-Ceratops just as it did with Dysfunction in Round 1.
The clusters are ramming it, shoving it, driving under it and nothing can really be done to stop it as they are coming from all angles! Some parts have even been able to drive over the top off the big flipper, which isn€™t advised. This Wheely Big Cheese look-alike is currently being attacked at the mercy of four cheese graters on wheels.
Just like the last match, all four parts of Mass Confuzzlement then get to one side of Die-Ceratops and drive it against the arena wall, with some parts pinning it while other repeatedly ram into it. Die-Ceratops fires its flipper and managed to break away and rolls back to the middle of the arena.
The clusters of Mass Confuzzlement follow and start attacking again, and Die-Ceratops just sits their taking the shorts for some reason. A cluster drives onto the end of the flipper and it fires! And one part of Mass Confuzzlement flies through the air and lands out side the arena wall. Die-Ceratops was just waiting for its moment to attack!
The three remaining pieces continue their duties of buzzing around and being a nuisance before a piece drives on top of the wedge again and flip! The 25kg robot flies upwards vertically, hits the lighting rig in the roof and comes back down to the floor with a thud, bouncing of the floor.
Die-Ceratops hits the jackpot again and slides under another one of the clusters and tosses is up and back down again. Now with one eliminated and two stunned, Die-Ceratops gets clear and drives itself under the remaining piece, and drives it towards the arena wall! Another flip sends the part hurtling backwards to live to fight another day.
Die-Ceratops turns attention to another piece and slides under and flips! And once again the power of the flip sends the cluster upwards and down outside the arena and onto the concrete.
Cease!
Die-Ceratops moves through to the finals!
And with that, the final draw is:

TACTICS (for once)
Ah, my old friend Liar. Were pretty similar, but I think I should be able to flip him a few times. Unlike him (as Tim said), I dont need to self-right, so whilst I can flip him, wait until he self-rights, shoot under so he lands on me, then flip him again, he cant do that.
But Im not over-confident. Anything could happen.

The Final
Liar vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus
In Round 2, Liar had a very even match with Back 2 Basics, but when B2B righted itself on top of the arena wall, it left a huge gap for Liar to slide under and flip it out of the arena.
Meanwhile, Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus got through when it tossed the clusters of Mass Confuzzlement about causing one to hit the arena roof and the other two send flying out of the ring.
3€¦2€¦1€¦Activate!
And the final is underway between two very similar wedge/flipper robots. One notable difference is that Die-Ceratops is slightly faster than Liar and comes in on the attack first. But in doing so Die-Ceratops rides up the front wedge of Liar and receives a flip, sending it onto it€™s back. Die-Ceratops is invertible and so it drives away to safety.
But Liar is on hot pursuit and slides its wedge under the back of Die-Ceratops and drives it across the ring, shunting it into the wall. Liar flips again, but the length of Die-Ceratops means that it was largely ineffective. Die-Ceratops turns and comes back in on the assault, sliding under and firing its own big flipper.
Liar flies over onto its back, and quickly self-rights, but Die-Ceratops is already in the waiting and flips again! This time Liar self rights and gets free, and rushes away to hit the pit release. It seems as though the Dutch robot fears the worst already! The pit begins to descend as Die-Ceratops comes in on the assault but crashes into the arena wall as Liar dives out of the way.
Liar then sees its chance to attack and rushes in to fire the flipper, flinging Die-Ceratops over again. Liar then slams Die-Ceratops into the wall again, and fires the flipper, possibly trying to toss Die-Ceratops out of the ring as it did with Back 2 Basics in the last round - but nothing comes of it.
Instead it gives Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus the chance to attack and the big green wedge slides under and the flipper fires. The enormous power of the flipper launches Liar back across the ring. Liar gets a lucky break, as if the flipper had fired forwards that close to the wall, this thing would have been over!
Instead Liar self rights, and manages to quickly spring away from an oncoming Die-Ceratops charge, who fires its flipper anyway, turning itself over. Liar then gets chance to attack and slides under Die-Ceratops and flips it over! And again, and again! It then finished off the assault by slamming it against the wall.
Liar then comes in for the charge and goes for the flip, but Die-Ceratops has fired its own flipper and flipped itself out of the way, meaning Liar flips thin air and turns itself onto its back too! Die-Ceratops then approaches from the rear and tosses Liar into the air and back down into the polycarbonate screening outside the ring.
Cease!
It€™s over as quick as a flash, and Die-Ceratops celebrates the victory. Congratulations Chris Mason and Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus, you have won the AJWars: A New Era tournament!
