Is your battery negative connected to the chassis?
It appears that the positive wire in the terminal block has shorted out via the terminal block ......I.E. Youve managed somehow to connect across the batteries.
Adding a fuse is a good idea ....especially whilst your playing..... It can eventually be removed.
Your chassis should be isolated from both battery terminls .... check that ALL your connections are adequately insulated .....with NO exposed wiring etc.
This probably makes better reading.....
It appears that the positive wire in the terminal block has shorted out thru the brass of the terminal block .
In my opinion ....Youve managed whilst putting on your lid to connect the positive and negative of your batteries .
Cause ... Inadequate insulation of exposed wires etc.
I would put insulting tape around the block, just to be sure.
so is this as simple as it sounds? i wont have dome any permenet damage?
thanks alex
if i was to put afuse in where should it go?
alex
In the positive wire from the battery.
are you not already using fuses? they are electronize 15A right? they should have fuses inline already.
Ive had another look at the pics on your site Alex ... you have many exposed connections.. example:- Your LED spade connections .. insulate them ALL.
Fuses for just your speed controllers will save .... well .....just your speed controllers :).
Place the fuse as close to the main battery plug as possible and before any other connections.

Aside from the insulation issues at the moment, Psycho Ram is looking good!
Its kind of bizarre actually - the reason I sold that chassis was because I didnt have the time or money to get it up and running alongside Kaizer, but looking at your pic of it with the top off, it looks very similar to the way Ive rebuilt Kaizer now (piccy on profile) - something I didnt even notice at the early stages of building it. My chassis could probably fit into the Psycho Ram top bit quite well now
Out of interest, where do the batteries go? I can see a couple of spaces where they could sit but Im not sure - just curious though :)

ok ill put a fuse in and yes the speedos already have them, but better safe than sorry i have now insulated everysingle connection even the link just to be sure, and yes the power light
i will label the spaces where the batteries go jamie
thanks alex
by the look of your pic and the motors i think yours may be slightly to wide to fit with the top of Psycho Ram
alex
i will put another pic of the improved insulated electrics, this will also include the aerial protection , but you may spot 4 bare wires dont be alarmed these will be connectected and covered well

robot imrovements
also includes the batteries

Quick note ...When fighting the bot Id suggest that your new main fuse should be twice the rating of your two Electronize fuses.
When just tinkering you can reduce the main fuse rating.
