ok, so there is piece and tranquillity... its finished.
The feather weights competed in the following challenegs.
Sprint
Sumo
Combat.
Sprint...
The first to run along around a point and back again.
4th place - Turn Over ( small flipper in the centre ) -
3rd Place - Nature Capture ( was mellow yellow and did a very last minute change on the weapon and became an envy style front flipper)
2nd Place - Zinger Senior ( eugines machine the white one )
1st place - 19 seconds, a fantastc clean run, no mistakes, for Stag Beetle !! waaahhhhaaaay
Next for Sumo
Turn over vs Stag Beetle - 0v3 Stag Beetle go through.
Zinger Sen vs Nature - 2v1 Zinger gettiing their weapon to work and lifted Nature up and carried them over to take the victory and through to the final.
Final Zinger Sen v Stag Beetle
A close match.... but Zinger out driving the beetle to win 2 v 1. waahhhaaaay
Then on the the combat.... baring in mind this was set in a big corridor with a stair way at the end... we used the stairs as a pit, and so you lost you went down a level. No Carpet, just concrete !!!
It was a 4 way mellee... Pain in the asp had its own House Bot zone. and it was a fight to the death.
By which time work had stopped in the whole building... they teach nursing, hospitality, other robotics... alsorts, we were the attraction....
3 2 1 activate..... first to fall was turn over who was grabbed by stag beetle and lifted to the stairs....bump bump bump !!!
next Zinger lifted nature and dumped them down the stairs...
Leaving the two favourites Zinger and the Beetle... about 2 minutes later and stag beetle took a big run up, grabbed Zinger and dumped them down the stairs !!!
The champions... Stag Beetle...wwwaaahhhhaaayyy
Next the grudge match...4 fw against Pain in the Asp !!!
You guessed what happened... they got smashed... although sorry geoff i have to admit.... Pain in the asp did get pushed down a level by the beetle....!! sorry :)
we then continued on level 5,( starting on level 6 ) until pain in the asp 1 by one took the robots apart !!! :)
fantastic fun all week, and definately we will be back to bring more mayhem in Asia...
Further teaching for 5 days followed by a feather weight show in the main shopping centre is already being planned for both Singapore and Malyasia next time.

Well im just about to check out of my hotel on what has been a fantasic experience. The students wanted me to say thankyou to your comments and support.
I am travelling home lighter as they have baught some components from me and are going to be building their very own PITA for when i return.
This is definately just the start of combat robots in Asia... work has already begun on my second trip, and then eventually they will roll the project to other countries where they already have the contacts, and provide student projects.
ah well 14 hrs of sitting in the air is looming !!

OK so PITA is now working its way through the baggage belts in my suitcase !!!! id love to see the xray image !!!
Making use of the free internet in the airport with hours to kill !!!
Had some successful meetings here before i left and hopefully looks like asia is set to be fully invaded with robots.
December 2008 will see me hopefully return for more training in singapore.... and hopefully i will be looking for 4 feather weight teams to join me straight afterwards to run a 2 day show at the their main Science Centre which has an auditorium waiting for an arena to be built into it !!!
After singapore, depending on how long the paper work will take with the Goverment... Malaysia is next !!!

OK, so i thought id just update our progress of taking over asia !!
i am about to sign a 5 year contract with creative robotics who are making a firm commitment to get robots out in asia.
At the moment they are planning the feasibility of taking things even further... they are looking into the possibility of obtaining a fully equipped workshop, so when im there we will be able to eventually build heavy weights !!!
Looking good !!

Thats one awesome video!
John are all those robots that were futured in the video (apart from Pain In The Asp) in the same spec as Pug?
-
Membership for Organisation (School)
They seem like the same base as the Zeobot kits (So yes then)
Cool video BTW!
Saw it a few days ago!
-
Membership for Organisation (School)
yes they are bases form the old Zeobots, the same as pug, and a different version of our Pay to drive little robots.
I used to supply zeobots into schools until technobots stopped making them, now i use my design as a kit form into schools, and very soon they will be on sale to joe public too !!
I left the chassiss in singapore so when i return they are waiting for me.
Glad you like the vid, i didnt make it, but it does capture the fun we had.
