Like last time we are aiming to get robots in and out of the arena as quickly as possible, and with around 80 fights over the two days there will be no time to waste - so be warned - be ready!!
As this is a serious Championship we will not be messing around, and all rules and regulations will be strictly followed and constantly checked up on. Weigh-ins will be a common occurance, every robot will be weighed at tech check with their heaviest set-up and spot checks will be made through out the competition. If you beleive an opponent to be over-weight during a fight we have no option but to check! 12.2kg will be the absolubte maximum allowed.
Please also be aware that there will be constant checking of gas filling, over-filling bottles will not be tollerated for safety reasons. I have already seen more than 4 burst discs on featherweight gas bottles blow in less than 5 events!
Have fun and good luck
grant, i signed up on sunday or monday, could you check it will be prodigy that i bring.
question, is it possible to oota robots in your arena? The space between inner and outer wall looks small in the photos ive seen,
Yes im doing my homework. :)
Its reasonably large really, very possible.
There is around 950mm seperation zone between the inner arena and the outer walls so yes Leo, plenty of room
You can just about see from the picture in my profile. There were alot of robots ending up OOTA at our last event.
awww i wanted to go but i will be going to brazil the day before
nuts, i hate it when the event threads im watching get close to the top of the list, means I have a good few long nights ahead of me :)
just spent a few hours makeing parts for the trophy, not finished yet but looking very nice so far :)!
Well i feel a lot better now. :) Mario, Rick and I are working hard on making Hannibalito 1 and 2 more controlable and better armoured.
And I just noticed something else: Nebelwerfers Finnish brother is coming, Hyperion. Cool. :)
Have decided to turn Kaizer from a feather to a raptor for this event, not actually too hard to do since it only weighed about 9kg before
Hope itll have more success in the raptor class than it did at its last outing in the feathers
ive signed up i shud be available will my axe aslong as i can get someone to weld it all lol
Hi Grant
Wheres the camp site, ok for a caravan
Hi david, ill get a postcode for the campsite asap. Caravans wont be a problem at all - electric hook-ups there too.
Hey guys,
First time camping will be at this event (never been camping before - shocking, isnt it :))
Got ourselves a tent package with the sleeping bags and camping mats (and tent obviously :lame:), just wondering if theres any other major stuff besides food and drink that well need?
And will there be things like showers and toilets on the campsite (probably rookie camper questions I know but gotta start somewhere :P)
Cheers,
Jamie
Something to cook on, and mabe somthing to sit on, could be usefull, depends how much spare space you got.
A lamp would be useful and a cooling box to put your food into. (Stack all your food into containers where pests and insects cant reach at them...) An insect repellent might be a good idea too. Get yourselves some toilet paper.
Plus plates, mugs, cutlery for eating and a few pots for cooking food and water. A large towel can double as an extra blanket when it gets chilly.
I think thats the basics really.
Jamie I am going for the basics. Take a tent, a sleeping bag, a ground mat and a few bottles of spirits. The rest will sort itself out.
The ferry is booked, we are definatly coming.
Only we have to pull out Hannibalito 1, he is not going to be ready in time.
ahh very good Leo :)
Yeah, were only bringing the stronger of the two...
Still awaiting a final email :) hope all is well ticket wise etc. Would also like campsite specifics when available.
James and I have been planning on getting the e-mails out all last week but we have been really busy trying to sort things out. We will get the e-mail confirming your entry, campsite details, arrival details and any other information out to everyone tommorrow.
We currently have 36 feathers sighned up so far, so only spaces left for a few more.
The e-mail with all details has now been sent out to all teams attending. If anyone has not received an e-mail please let me know asap I can get a copy to you.
we havent recieved one
sorry for post
logged in to wrong email
we have got it
Forwarded
mind you missed raptor off list for us but dont think it will be a problem ;)
see you sat
ps no name yet
Kaizer Mk2 - now taken down to 6kg (wasnt too hard thankfully - just had to take off the bit I used as protection from the spinners )
All ready to go with a piccy on profile - now just need to make up a rear attachment from Drumroll so my link isnt just flying around the unprotected back end :)
Looking good, though watch out for the Fins spinners :) will be a long haul to get both machines finished for me.
Ill be in the hunt for ferrymen to and from the campsite by the way those of you with cars :)
Thats right, watch out for the fins spinner, and pay no attention to mine. :)
Ill pay no attention to that if everyone else pays no attention to the two reasonably sized gaps in Kaizers underbelly that a nice lil raptor axe could take advantage of :)
i was really worried the first time i came up against spinners, but now i love coming up against them, mines had a good test against one, and came of pretty good. just keep driving at them as hard and fast as you can to break them before they break you.
Truly sorry Ewan, but weve already got 5 people in our car to start with.
(Driving more than 500 kilometers with a car full of robots and roboteers... hey, its for the hobby !)
Little spinner is fixed :) The motor isnt even connected to the disc anymore, its magic (well magnetic), so we will see if it works any better this time, should reduce the shock to the motor and gearbox but only one way to find out, we need volunteers like adrian :). Little Hitter is taking a rest as thats not fixed but was only in whiteboards anyway.
Like the scoring system for this event, with 4 points for a knockout :).
