Hey guys - got back earlier today from being at yesterdays evening show... both Sarah and I had a great time, and a big thanks to everyone for making Sarah feel so welcome in a new community.
Hope today went as well - and big congratulations to Team Mad for doing so well with the first event, heres to the next one !

Brilliant Event, Thanks to Dave Young for driving Leveller2 to a win in the first whiteboard fight, Thanks to Team Mad for Orginising the Event, Look forward to the next one.
Dave.
Great event lads! Sorry about the arena door and the floor... :) Our first OOTA!

Hi all, just a Joe Public here, a relic from the old Robot Wars site.... :)
Was at this in the crowd for the lunchtime show and saw some great fights, particularly the heavyweight melee.....
Not really seen the machines since the TV show went, so it was nice to see how different they are now.....when did Kronic become Gravity-ised...
Great machine that one....in fact all the ones there were,....though not too happy with the Mechanoids one....soaked us on the way out *sigh* :proud:
I never realised how devoted the little ones get to the robots......the kids around me seemed to be only there for Wheely Big Cheese so when someone asked a question about it and it was said they hadnt turned up yet they had a bit of a sulk, then when I later noticed it was in the pits I pointed at it for them and they spent most of the rest of the fights staring at IT not the action :proud:
I hope it got out in the final show to please some crazy kids out there!
Overall a great spectacle and a great show......thanks a lot! :)
Now, Im gonna go find all the video clips and material I can find to get me back into the mood for fightin again
Maybe buy that DVD I heard about too! :)

Excellent event chaps!
What a fantastic start to the UK scene this year.
I agree, i great start to 2006, looks like its going to be a great year.
The new effects were recieved well, however im disappointed in the feather weights not willing to play with the hammer, I havent even begun to make it powerful yet. Come on guys, try harder next time.
Well done to Pillow Torque, FW Winners, and Kan Opener, the 2006 champions. A fight well worthy of being on our tv screens.
I must also say congratulations to our 3 newbie roboteers.
Invasion, getting more experienced in thier 2nd event.
Push and Shove, ( foxy boxy 2 ), which was built by me as an xmas pressent, Andrew saved his pocket money himself, and fought off all the other feather weights to win 2 fights over the weekend.
Phsyko Fling, a zeobot chassis, and some old arena makrolon, built by Alex himself. His 2nd ever event, and nearly won, but took 2nd place in his last fight.
Well done to all. Pictures, and movie clips on the website tonight as long as stu doesnt have any homework from school... i mean Uni. :)
Roll on magna.

Yeah, damn right the feathers dont want to mess with that hammer!...We dont mind taking any damage that comes our way during fair combat, but were not prepared to have a machine put out of action for the rest of an event or worse still oblitarated, just for the benefit of an arena effect!
That said, it was a very good event, well done to the Team Mad and the RR crew, the heavyweight final was one of the best fights Ive seen for a while.
Also well done the new guys.. Keep up he good work, hope to see you all at another event soon.
Thanks to all roboteers for coming.
As Jonno says, well done to the two winners, Kan Opener and Pillow Torque.
I only managed to film the final melee on the final show, that will be on the robots live website later along with some pics.
Thanks again!

Hehe - never take anything i say seriously Geoff. Hehe. (Just when i say something in a calm manner, then you worry :proud:)
Pictures, event reports and movie clips from the event will be online tonight. Yes John i have lots of School (Uni) work to do, (Staying over all day and night partying with Uni mates, thats classed as homework aint it? Or is that hangover :proud:)
Tonight, all be online.
Mr Stu
One small question.....
Mute was down to be at the show yet didnt...show at the show......show....show....
Arghh, I need to stop saying show...
Did it turn up on any of the other sh....err..events,
Its not a deal-breaker, but Id like to know
Many thanks Tony, youre a sweetie as always.
Congrats to Kan Opener for winning the HW competition although I really didnt see much of anything this weekend.
It was good to see Pillow back to winning ways against some very tough opponents. Also a big well done to Tanja whos getting better each time out.
Mute only attended one event last year, as over the year they were making improvements and didnt get in finished in time for the weekend.
Roaming Robots - Robots Live event report is now online featuring 3 movie clips, and plenty of pictures in our Gallery.
Enjoy :)

Ello :)
Yup, Alan is right. Last year Mute needed a holiday so we thought wed take the time to strip Mute down and repair/rebuild the bits weve worn out over the past few years.
We were hoping to get everything back together but we ran out of time with one thing and another. Theres not too much more to do, just a bit of re-wiring, quick gas test and a couple of mods to stop our LEMs melting again  Other than that were nearly ready to go assuming everything works... maybe well even be ready for a test run at Magna... fingers crossed :)
hopefully nobody flew from ireland just to see you....
not that i was given a guilt trip for being late...
:)
well it meant the floor was safe... so you werent missed..... only joking, the atmosphere isnt the same without the mute boys !!
see you soon hopefully.
JOhn
Bad news Im afraid Jonno, Mute can shave rust off the surface of steel plate with the new nose... our floor leveling service will be back in operation shortly :proud:
which means jonno should not have issue with my wheels????
hopefully...... its not the same without the big red spikey drums.
James,
Would you like some cheese with your whine :proud:
Stu may be going to uni and all... but if I had a penny for every time Ive seen a spelling mistake on the scroller on the RR homepage... you get the idea :proud:
Adam...... a remark like that cannot be replied to....
far too clever for me to fight back.
Adam, Ive got a new Batch of Blackheart Homebrew. I think we can ditch the cheese.
