WOW! 4th seed....Im chuffed :)
Oi... whats that about Mute being a mess from the last winter tour???? Thats a load of bull poo, Mute was running after the final last year just with a few extra dents and a self ejecting link....
Nothing wrong with Mute that a current limited speedo (which needs to be smaller than 8x4.5x2 and survive a LEM-130) and a un-melted LEM wont fix.
And before someone says it, we didnt blow the speedos up, its just that the current limit is a bit high and seems to be melting our LEMs... for the 3rd time!
Thanks also for bringing it down sowf
And an Un-Melted £750 Lem. LOL! Ok fair enough.
Mr Stu
I personally dont think those comments are fair, the only thing true about that write up is Mute took a serious pounding from Terrorhurtz in the final. The serious pounding resulted in a few large dents that a big hammer fixed.
Mute was alive and kicking for Brighton in Feb 2005 which was well after last Winter Tour final.
I think they may have confused Mute with the arena floor :-)
ok ok, we get the picture daniel....we were wrong... mute rules OK !
Cant wait to see how you squeeze a roboteQ into mute ..... why dont you remake it the size of ripper :) :)
JOhn
Why not using the way smaller new OCMC based Sidewinder? That can fit in Mute and leave some space.
Do a sidewinder per motor and hey presto youve got a teenie tiny 120A continuous current limited speedo - best put a few fans in for the LEMs though :)
Daniel, We use the sames speedos, the current limit is adjustable its just a pain to set it correctly, I personally rate those controllers now weve used them for 12 months without a single problem. I even plugged battery connectors into the motor connectors and vice versa, smoke came out of the batteries but the controllers were fine :).
But if you no longer want them, send me an Email.
Good venues. Ill be in uni by then, so, wont be going to the Welsh venue after all, but Birmingham instead!
John, when will you get some more videos and pictures of old events on to your website?
No Nottingham i see .... BOO HOOO
hey jonno, im thinking of visiting you all at the folkestone one hehe beware. hows rip doing?
We are going to make a big effort to keep the pictures and videos flowing on to the website during the winter tour.
Tams, thought it was a bit quiet around !!!
John

Dear Roboteers,
There will be a small delay in letting roboteers know where their competition fights will take place at. Keep checking back here and/or the Roboteers Winter Tour Password Area.

Roaming Robots - Winter Tour Update
Roboteers,
Well, the information has been collected, the sign ups have closed, and the teams which have applied, have been contacted to let them know which venue they will be attending for their two competition qualifying rounds.
There has yet again been an extensive amount of teams apply to the 2nd year running tour....... 25 Heavyweights, and 21 Featherweights will battle it out.
This is certainly going to be the Biggest European robotic competition to take place in the 2005 calendar.
Who will be the outright 2005 RR UK Champion???
Robotic Combat is still very much alive, and with a busy bigger 2006 in the pipeline, it can only grow and grow, you spinner heavyweight robots.... get ready to dust off your machines, and connect those deadly weapons again !!!
Any teams which for some reason have not received their notification, then email me back on john@roamingrobots.co.uk ASAP.
Cheers
John

Speak softly...But carry a big lynch!
Im also delighted to hear this from John. I wonder if there are any heavyweight spinners out there now. They wont have had much of an airing since 2003. Nevermind, I am building my present robot to take on spinners and win....At the present slow rate of progress it might be almost complete by 2006.
I can think of one Jeremy!
depends how long it works for though ???? :)
