Well, go back to Guardian HQ, ponder what little infomation ive learned about the Shadows so far and do more resaerch.
Ill go to the Police Station and show D.S OHara how stealh like I can be with my powers.
Im rather stumped, so Ill aid Tony with some more research at HQ.
Dan, you might want to hope that OHarras husband isnt a Gifted...me, id find that ratherr funny :p
Im tired, so I want to run the update earlier tonight. If Scott and Martyn dont post within the next half hour theyll be too late.
Im stuck, so Ill have a proper coffee, and moan about OHara. I will also research the shizzle about night crystals on the internet, and find out why anyone would want them.
and i will help you
Guardian H.Q
Stomper, Marathon, Funkie Junkie and Psy spend some time running searches on the Shadows on the Guardians database, but find nothing new, much to their frustration. If there IS anything in this case the database can help with, it isn€™t the Shadows.
Police station
Blur sneaks into the police station and soon find O€™Hara€™s office. She€™s not in at the moment, so he sneaks in and stands perfectly still next to the filing cabinet and vanishes, waiting for the perfect chance to surprise O€™Hara. After a while, she comes in, and opens a cupboard in the wall, placing some boxes of forms there, and then leaves before Blur can move. Much to his distress, he hears the lock click, and O€™Hara€™s voice telling someone that she€™s off for the day. In a panic, he knocks on the door, but no-one hears. It€™s a long night for Blur, and the only thing that cheers him up is the discovery that O€™Hara left a bar of fruit€™n€™nut chocolate and a packet of crisps in her desk draw.
Blur can perform no actions until the next morning in game time. However, the sneaking around was good practise. Blur€™s proficiency up 5 points.
Aces
Mephistopheles goes back into Aces, and finds Hewlit still there. Instead of the staring contest last time, he sits opposite Hewlit.
€œI wondered how long it would take one of you guys to notice me,€ he says, as Mephistopheles sits down, pulling out a cigar and lighting it. Hewlit then grins, and his skin flashes blue as he breathes cold vapour over the cigar, extinguishing it. Mephistopheles looks sorrowfully at the soggy cigar, before pulling out another.
€œHere, let me,€ Hewlit says, touching the end of the cigar with his finger, which flashes red, causing the cigar to light up. Hewlit seems unharmed.
€œIf you€™re done showing off,€ Mephistopheles says, €œI want to talk to you.€Â
€œWhat makes you think I want to talk to you?€ Hewlit responds.
Mephistopheles replies by heating up Hewlit€™s wheelchair. Hewlit responds by flashing blue and cooling down his own wheelchair. Stalemate. Hewlit sighs.
€œOK, it seems you€™re not too bright. Give me money, I will give you information, capiche?€Â
€œI want to know everything you know about the Shadows, and night crystals,€ Mephistopheles replies, handing over 40 EU dollars. Hewlit looks surprised at the amount of money in his hand, and Mephistopheles thinks that maybe he wasn€™t expecting that much. Still, it€™s too late as the money soon vanishes into a pocket.
€œI don€™t know much about night crystals,€ he says at last. €œI heard they could be used as a power source, but it€™s not widely advertised. And, no, I don€™t know the specifics. It was something I overheard while€¦ Occupied by something else.€Â
Hewlit won€™t go any further on that subject, so the topic is changed to the Shadows.
€œThey move around a lot,€ Hewlit says. €œRandom searching won€™t find them, but maybe you don€™t need to look. I heard a big deal was going down at twelve tomorrow afternoon, in Misty€™s garage.€Â
€œNever heard of it.€Â
€œYou wouldn€™t have, it shut down not long after it opened up. The usual drill, bad placement, incompetent owner, didn€™t properly research the market. However, the Shadows have been known to hang out there from time to time.€Â
Sorry Scott and Martyn, you posted while I was nearly done with the update. If it helps, the internet wouldnt have had any new info on it anyway.
I vote we all go to HQ and listen to what Mephistopheles has found out.
Also, until the meeting rolls around tomorrow afternoon, whos up for a little training? :proud:
Return to HQ to inform people, I think everyone else should consider going to Mistys garage tomorrow. Maybe we can have some fun. But I think the sneaky types will be needed at the least.
Someone come to the police station and break me out!! LOL!!!
Im for a meeting as well.
Ill come and unlock the door for Dan, then go for a meeting and some training. Also, itd be a good idea for Dan to go to the garage tomorrow, but try not to get locked in again!
If I can be freed, I will go to the garage.
Psy will stay at the HQ and do some training
Dan cant be freed because your characters dont know hes trapped. While you can see whats happening to the other characters, you cant act on it until your own character has found out. If you try to cheat anyway, be warned, I will find new and inventive ways of screwing you over:wink:
As everyone has decided on an action, I can start the update early.
Wont Psy know Im trapped? :lame:
Guardian H.Q
Mephistopheles arrives, and finds Psy, Funkie Junkie and Marathon waiting for him. He tells them all that he learned from Jerry Hewlit. The day is coming to a close, so there€™s not much more that can be done. Mephistopheles is tired from all his walking, and so goes straight to bed after the meeting. Stomper gets something to eat, then also goes to bed. The other three decide to do some training before retiring for the night.
Marathons proficiency up by 1.
Psy€™s proficiency up by 4
Funkie Junkie€™s proficiency up by 4
Guardian H.Q
Next day, the five remaining start looking for Blur. They weren€™t too worried the previous night as they thought he was busy proving his worth to O€™Hara, but it seems he hasn€™t come back. They decide to start their search for Blur at the police station.
Police station
The only place to lay down and sleep was O€™Hara€™s desk. Blur finds himself rudely awakened when O€™Hara comes in for the morning shift, and rolls him off. He blearily opens his eyes, and sees O€™Hara staring down at him with a pretty intimidating €œYou€™ve got a lot of explaining to do€ expression. The best he can manage is a sheepish grin and a €œHi€Â.
The rest of the Guardians come in via the front door just as Blur is being dragged through to the lobby by his ear.
€œI think this is yours,€ O€™Hara says, pushing Blur towards them.
Reunited again, it€™s time to plan your next action.
Guys, quit pissing off OHara, it aint getting the job done :p
Ill be going with anyone to Mistys grage, but not by myself.
Ill go back to the Guardian I.Q and practice my power.
Im goign to the garage, its our only lead, so I think everyone who can some should.
If you guys want, I could go to the garage with you. My slight cockiness might help me blend in amoungst these bragging bikers :proud:
If you dont think Id do well to tag along, Ill just stay at HQ and undergo a bit more training :)
I think Psy will go, apparntly men will to women everything so her being a girl could help
Times up for Scott, hes going to Mistys.
Guardian H.Q
Deciding to spend some time training, Blur separates from the others and heads to Guardian H.Q, where he spends some time practising.
Blur€™s proficiency up by 6.
Misty€™s garage
The other five Guardians have a tough time finding the garage. Part of the reason for its bad run of business was its out of the way location, and they finally find it by asking around until they find someone who knows where it is. Rather than going in, they have a quick scout. The whole place shouts of neglect. The floor is dirty, littered with junk people have tossed over the walls, and there is also some dog muck in evidence. The doors are hanging open and look like they haven€™t moved for some time, but ten bikes are in evidence. Lights are on in the central office, and the door is tight shut.
What now?
Ill join the others at Mistys Garage and help them discover what is happening...
Well Ill take a vote on whether I should blow up the bikes to get attention?
But first I think some sneakign by our sneaky people should be go and listen in. If they need rescuing the not so subtle people (such as myself) shall coem to thier aid.
Ill volunteer to go in undercover. My outfits kinda bikery and my slightly cocky attitude will help me blend nicely :proud:
Failing that, I can always find another way in, dart inside and try to get some information that way. Thoughts, lads?
Im with Alex on this one: THose bikes are BLOWING up. Providing anyone inside isnt fast, im also willling to help if nessacary.
Blowing things up is BAD. It lowers our public opinion. And gets us caught. Though being caught might be fun, itll lower our public opinion as the public will think were even more imcompetent. Dan wouldve been good for this, since hes invisible, and I say we wait for him. Ill phone him with directions. Failing that, subtle members go in. It might be good for Marathon to find a bike and infiltrate the gang. Im as subtle as a crowbar, since I dont like leather, so it would be better if I stayed for backup in case it gets ugly. Uglier than the bikers, that is.
Sorry for lack of update-age, Im trying to sort my computer out. An update tonight isnt looking likely either.
Well Martyns definitely out of time. Update next post.
Guardian H.Q
His training done, Blur goes out to join the others at Misty€™s garage. Halfway down the street, the problem that never occurred to the others occurs to him. He has no idea where it is€¦
Misty€™s
Marathon tries to find a way into the office, but the only door is locked. It€™s possibly a good thing for Marathon that his plan failed, as he never took into account that the bikers know what each other look like and would have spotted him anyway.
Streets
Blur is still looking for Misty€™s.
Misty€™s
Egged on by Stomper, Mephistopheles ignores Funkie Junkie€™s warnings and turns his attention to the bikes. The frames are made out of a heat resistant alloy, so he can€™t do much to them, much less blow the bikes up as intended. However the saddles and tyres burn nicely, rendering it useless. Then someone in the shadows yells out €œHey, that€™s my bike you censored!€Â
Their cover blown, ten bikers appear out of the shadows. Some are holding lengths of chain, a couple have pieces of two by four, one has a wrench, but one has pulled out a flick-knife. Suddenly the gates clang shut. The Guardians turn around, but can€™t see what€™s shut them. Without warning, the Shadows attack.
Outside Misty€™s
Blur finds the place just in time to see the gates clang shut in his face. Like the others, he can€™t see what€™s shut them.
Gameplay note. Failing to give an action while your character is in battle will result in them basically hiding from the action, contributing nothing. Just so you know.
Will I ever get to do something good in this? :proud:
OK, find the guys and help them out. Bikers are generally big, lumbering and a bit stupid. Perfect fodder for Mr Marathon! The main aim here is to dart between the Shadows, round and round and round and round (you get the idea). This should greatly disorientate them and allow the others to inflict some serious whoopass!
See if I can get Marathon or Blur [if he can jump the fence] to cover me from the knife guy, and basically crush anyone armed with anything but a knife with my draining abilities, which ill use if i get too injured.
If Alex is willing to, can he blow the gates up so I can get in?
If not, then Ill climb over the stupid thing. :proud:
I told you so, you muppets!
Ill unlock the gate for Dan, using my powers to unlock it. Then I plan to hide, and finish off the last guy, making me the hero
J/K, I think we should go for knock-outs, Ill call the police using my cellphone or if I dont have one, then any phone. Then Ill use blunt objects to hit them in the head with, like spanners, non-sharp bike parts, etc. I might get high (up :-P) and battle from there. However, my main priority is getting that flick knife out of that big stupid bikers hand. It might be a good idea for Marathon to get that, or to take on the knife man. Ill also try to stop their weapons and try to stop them from moving, letting others hit them. Maybe stand with Stomper, to let him do something while the bikers cant move. If things get desperate we should run, but knocking out bad guys always looks good on the TV. Everyone, HOLD BACK. We dont want them badly hurt, just knocked out so we can tie them up and wait for the police. Were the good guys, so yeah, NO KILLING.
Also remember, the police already think were idiots, being seen isnt gonna stop that, so dont pull another stunt like that anytime soon, so dont give them any more opportunities to further that opinion.
Public opinion is important, but each others well-being is more important, so dont do anything stupid, but cover everyone elses back, and theyll cover yours. Nobody gets left behind!
Ill try to blow the gates up, failign that Ill set their shoes on fire, which wont kill them so wont lower oppinion too much but will certainly incapacitate them.
