From the Wicksteed Park website: quote:
The park already welcomes organised caravan clubs and societies to stay on site but now this will be extended creating that special coastal experience right at the heart of the UK.
Seeing as I live by the sea, can they see themselves to creating some kind of special inland experience just for me? :)
thanks geoff if you could please

An exellent event....
First of all congratulations to Jonno & Kirsty on the birth of their daughter, Sienna, 6 pounds and mother and daughter are fine.
(next time Jonno, dont wake up half the campsite at 3AM with your high speed departure! :))
Anyway, back to the event. Some great fights, with Pillow Torque and Scorpion Evilution spending the whole weekend trying to kill each other. Sorry Ian, hope 4Baa4 recovers soon! (It was an accident, honest!)
I hope we can do it again next year..this time without the rain!
Geoff & John,
Team Scorpion.
P.S. the Saturday night party gave us all a very interesting insight as to the contents of the hard drive on Stus laptop...All I will say is Yogi bear!
well lets just say an event, i will never forget.
Mother and baby are doing just fine... suffering from sleep deprevention already, but its all fine with me.
Sounds like i missed some good fights, see you all on the tour.
John
Great event - managed to back Pillow into the pit this time but at least I did it with style
Geoff, did you not see the banana split on Stus phone?? Not the one on the plate - it was other one
Congrats to John & Kirsty - sleep deprivation will become a fact of life (just like eating and breathing really). Also congrats to the very proud grandparents Angie & Dave.
Great event- Karoline wasnt the only one to find the pit, but then again PT was never very good on a skid pan. The water hazard took its toll. We survived serveral battles with Scorpion Evilution, and put the robot back together for the next fight.
Again congratulations to John and Kirsty, the next generation of Roaming Roots crew is born. Also congratulations to Angie and Dave on becoming very proud grandparents.
Had a great day there... Although our batteries have finally given up... Time to build the new pack.
Congratulations on the new member :-)
Kane
I would like to thank everyone who helped us out on Sunday. From helping set up, to sorting out the radio and to general adult supervision.
Whilst 15 seconds or so of drive is not a long time, its all a learning experience (and the stuff of legend to my junior team members).
We lost power on the first impact when our removable link was severed. Needless to say, it wont be there next time.

Ere just a thought..........seeing as we were at Wicksteed Park perhaps the Wicky Bear song is in need of a makeover........
I know a bear that you all know, Wicky, Wicky
Great event:) got a Pic of a very happy (sorta scarey) Craig on my profile:)
What scares me the most about your plan, Karoline, is the fact that the name rhymes with Sticky
the miserable bugger wouldnt let me keep it
I aint seen any reports from this event yet so Im curious about something and have to ask:
WTF happened to Terrorhurtz axe?!
Was it self-inflicted or the result of an attack by another bot? Whatever it was - it looks nasty :)
the big nipper guys found out what happened i think they said that the axe stopper on the front broke so that the axe hit the stainless front panel and has you know stainless if tougher than ali so the ali cracked and snapped off, well thats what they said :)
Self-inflicted, the working theory is that it was brought about through hitting the arena side-bars too hard, without anyone attacking that would not have occurred. Iron-Awe did score a direct hit on the bump-stop and then (fortunately for us) got stuck in the arena floor before doing any other damage. The actual break occurred where there was a pre-existing notch in the shaft, cant remember what that was done on. It may have been from wrestling with Big-Nipper some time ago.
Nar it tried to pick on Beast (some nice holes to prove it  )
craig dodged abit and it snapped off i think through it hitting it self (stainless steel bit) , after many years things do brake
hopefully video wil be out soon so we can watch in slow motion ;)
oh i forgot john

:) :) :)
some u win some u loose
that was a draw ;)
if i was driving that wouldnt of happened
fight of ripper/bignipper/scorpion/beast is on the 1st page of http://www.8645t.co.ukhttp://www.8645t.co.uk
thanx to Dave from madteam
For those that dont know, Nick Lynch is my team mate (recruited after he sent me an amazing 3D dynamic physics model of beta that he had written from scratch), so hes right - it was from hitting the arena surround, not our stainless nose. It was still running at 160psi from the Tanto fight, so was leaving nice big dents in the steel rail.
Kane has just milled up a new 2014T6 shaft for it, this time a bit thicker. Now just a question of which axe we should use...
John
