quote:
anybody got a spare washing machine or anything of that nature they dont intend to want
That means dont borrow it from your mum/wife/girlfriend/aunty etc cos it aint going back unless its in a bin bag! :proud:
Another Small Post - anybody got a 2kg Co2 bottle doing nothing during the event that we could borrow for the weekend. Its for the arena flipper. Deal is - lend us the bottle - and we wont flip you.....
Mr Stu
Much!
I can bring a photocopier about half the size of a washing machine. I also have a CO2 bottle spare. Let me know by text Stu if you want them. Only deal is that I dont have to take the photocopier home with me in pieces!
Ian

Posted on behalf of Roaming Robots.
To all Roboteers attending Denbigh.
Please be aware that all robots planing to enter the main competition will be weighed prior to competing.
Any robot found to be overweight will be given one chance i.e this event, to compete. You will then be expected to have your robot within weight for any future event.
Those robots that were weighed at the Magna event and found to be overweight will be required to be in weight for Denbigh. (You have already had your one chance!!) If you are found to be still overweight then you will not be allowed to compete in the main competition this weekend or score any points in the RR championship.
Roaming Robot Crew.
Spent all day lugging 200 chairs, 25 tables, and a 150 seat grandstand (in bits!) Im totally knackered.
The tables got a bit damaged last year and were replaced with new. Please can heavyweight teams bring a sheet of something to protect these tables eg cloth or vinyl. Feathers all will be on the floor. Metal toolboxes kept on floor. No drilling, sawing etc on the tables.
See you all tomorrow afternoon.

NOTE TO ANYONE STAYING AT THE TRAVELODGE, HALKYN
The postcode that they are giving out, CH8 8RF, seems to be wrong. This seems to be the actual location:

Heres the official Travelodge page, with dodgy postcode:

Just stopped off in a Little Chef on the A55 on the way home. How sad am I for having a wireless laptop in a little chef! Congrats to Big Nipper on pitting us in the final. Looking forward to getting our own back at the next event :) Great event and great weekend
Team Kronic
Many thanks to all the teams that came and the Roaming Robots crew. It was a successful event with all the audiences enjoying the show. Congratulations to the winning robots and runners up. Nice to see a Dutch and a Belgium team all the way over in North Wales.
Ive done the sums and it tickets sales raised nearly £2k for the school. Nearly five PCs!!!

What a excelent event! This was my first event as a roboteer and the whole atmosphere was great. Thanks to those teams who helped us out. Roaming Robots did a wonderful job and my team did our bit helping taking the arena down.
Its good to hear how much it raised for the school I attend. But I was just wondering do i get first pick of one of the computers as my robot lasted in the arena longer than yours did Mr.(Rob)Jones! (Only joking)
Thanks Again.
JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW SHANE IS FINE THE PIECE OF STORM WHICH ENDED UP IN HIS HAND WAS SUCCESSFULLY REMOVED FROM HIS HAND AND WILL NOW BE PLACED ON ( THE WALL OF SHANE ) .. BIG THANKS TO JENNY AND GEOFF FOR ALL YOUR HELP !!!!!
THANKS TO STORM FOR THE TITANIUM ... DO YOU WANT IT BACK ????
ANYWAY ALL IS WELL NOW AND THANKS FOR ALL YOUR CONCERNS ... AS YOU ALL SAW IT DIDNT AFFECT HIS FLIPPING SKILLS .... NEXT TIME ... HEY TRAVOR.???
THANKS AGAIN ... PETE ...
Your very welcome Pete, Just glad to know hes OK.
I think a big thank you should go to Rob, Jonno & crew and the roboteers for a fantastic weekend.
We have learned that the best defence you can possibly have against a featherweight spinner is in fact... a small pink pig!! (Dont ask!...its a long story!)
It was nice to be able to run the heavyweight in anger too, even at reduced power..(Is there a photocopier engineer in the house!):)
Once again, well done everyone!..A great event!
Geoff & John,
Team Scorpion.
Tell Shane to get well soon.
He has the job for as long as he wants it, his reactions are mustard.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and congratulations to all involved
Trev
*back after a rather dull six hours on welsh trains :)*
Great weekend, thanks to all the RR crew for putting on another great event. Congrats to Rampage and Big Nipper, winners in feathers and heavies.
Congrats to Rob for organising the event.
Ill see you all at XFM Cambridge!
poor shane :P
Well done to the winners, somehow Alpha managed to get to another final, maybe i dont need to make the new one after all!
A big thank you to John (scorpion) for sorting Merlins tyre out and Ian for fixing our NiCad pack. Was great fun having all 3 of our heavys in at the same time!
Good to hear it raised alot of money for the school. Well get a report/pics up soon.
Pete - Shanes welcome to keep his piece of Storm II, hopefully had can avoid collecting any other bits like that (most people just ask) :oP
I forgot to say thanks to all the roboteers for not freaking out at the addition of a 500Kg house robot to the party. Denbigh was a bit of a test to see if the worked ok at a Roaming Robots event and all the feedback from the roboteers and particularly the public was very positive.
...though Chompie should realise that Throttle has a long memory ;o)
Anyway, thanks again to all involved !

Just to let you all know that when you were all traveling home after the show, and after your long trip home, you all arrive ok and went to your lovely warm beds.... Jonno and I in the truck taking the arena back to nottingham, a tire blew at 12:30am. We contact the brake down people and they said someone will be with you in 20 minutes - 1 hour later a kid arrived with some tools and went Oh its bigger than i thought, i havnt got any tools big enouhg, ill phone base and get someone ELSE to come with bigger tools. So off he went. Another 1 hour later the same kid came back with a bigger socket set and tried to undo the wheel nuts, and his bar was not big enough for the job. So he called for back up. 40 minutes later someone else arrived, and finaly managed to get the wheel off. Then the spare wheel had to be taken from under the truck, took another 30 minutes as the nuts were rusted and stiff. Finally the wheel was changed and at 4:30am we carried our trip back to nottingham. 6:20am we arrived back at Jonnos house where we snuck into bed (not together mind you!) at 6:30am and had 3 hours sleep before starting the day to unload the truck and go home.
But we had fun on the laptop playing Sonic for 4 hours while waiting for the silly brake down company that seemed to have never changed a wheel before.
But the event it self was great, well done to Big Nipper, and well done to Rampage. (I wont get stuck on the wall next time - watch out LOL! Well done James). Hope the event takes place again next year Rob - all seemed good!
Mr Stu
Hi guys, I wanted to say that this was a great event. I missed last year, but made up for this time around. My thanks to Rob and the RR crew for putting on a fantastic weekend.
Im glad that Shane is alright.No-one likes splinters, and metal ones are the worst.
Well done to Big Nipper and Rampage for winning thier fights.
Hey Stu, I sympathise with you. I drove most of the way home with Geoff and Tanja fast asleep. I got home at 1am. I was awake just before 7am. See you all at the next event.
Jenny
hey stu.... it seemed longer in real life than in your story!!!!
Just want to say thanks to the roboteers for what was another excellent 4 shows, and to hear we have raised money for such a good course is so much the better !!!
bit of a small break now, so go and do all of your repairs.... you never know you might see ripper and rip at the next one if we find some time. !!!! i doubt it :)

Roaming Robots
P.s anyone which has any comments about the DVD we gave away, please let us know so we can make them as action packed and professional as possible !!!
Any chance I can get a copy of that DVD please Jonno?
Thanks
Kane
Fantastic DVD, just a quick question about the music though.... is that allowed???
Hopefully yes, which means my first statement stands.... Fantastic DVD
the intro music has been composed for us, and we are having a full set of music composed as we speak before the dvd goes into commercial sale.
Remember that was just a sample, the finished article will be over two discs with our own music.
There has been quite a bit of feedback, keep it coming, with some very interesting ideas.
JOnno
Lol could i get a copy if posted to me ?
Ali, I understand that only roboteers that attended Magna get the preview version, Im sure you could buy the fininshed edition when its released.
It looks great jonno, especially the menus which have very nice skins. The DVD casing looks great too. An idea would be the addition of an interactive viewing section on the DVD. On one of the robotwars dvds I remember from a while back (I think it was the one with the house robots) there was a bit where you could change the camera angle you were viewing at the press of a remote. If you can manage to record separate camera angles at each event, Im sure the results could look very good.
What dvd is this, i seam to be a bit behind with whats going on lol :proud:
basically, We are about to launch a whole set of dvds from our events.
All of our events are now being filmed, and after each event we will add it to our collection of event dvds.
We gave roboteers who attended magna a free sample to get some feed back.
More information will be on the website / forum when it is ready for release.
