The possibility of the enemy finding the frequency and using it is somewhat fightening...
Use it in countries were the highest form of guided missiles are suicide bombers.
Not much chance that the enemy has any clue what is happening.
mario i wouldnt be so sure.
in every country there are always people who know all about technology etc
i think that the americans are probably thinking along the same lines, good luck to the soldiers that fight with them is all i can say.
im not happy going near an active heavyweight, let alone one that has a rifle on it.
they also self destruct
Yeah, Ive got to think along the lines of what Gary is saying. There will always be a geek or two in these terrorist movements.
Making remote controlled machine gunners off near your base is like setting a suicide bomber on the loose. None of the soldiers working with the machines would know if they are under their own control apart from the controller himself.
I really do hate the way Americans do stuff...
Am I the only one who thinks that the americans arnt quite (stresses quite) stupid enough to put it on an obvious frequency?
Come on give them some small amount of credit.
Regards
Ian
Are the English really stupid enough to think that they would put it on a std. frequency and without encryption, plus im sure its not as simple as a sky sports 6 transmitter controls.
The point is theyre using these machines against insurgents. This is the new name for anyone who stand in opposition to their country being forcibly occupied. Just send in the machines to take pot shots at anything that moves then you cant blame the soldier for doing wrong but its easy to blame the technology. No one is then accountable for their actions.
Mario said quote:
Use it in countries were the highest form of guided missiles are suicide bombers. Considering how miltary technology did for the US in Vietnam and for the Soviets in Afghanistan fighting a tenacious and determined enemy relying on their local knowledge, ingenuity and living on their wits. The suicide bomber form of guided missile is maybe the best so-called technology known to humankind.
Sorry about my political rant but to me all this is wrong, very wrong.
War is always wrong, and the last resort of politicians to unleash.
Vietnam and Afghanistan are being lost, because technology is kept on a leash. To keep it humane. Politicians interfering of something that has to be done by dedicated persons, with the right knowledge.
You could see it like Blair dictating me how to construct a FP ram. It will go wrong. Or the thing is very clumsy, but safe, or it will be unsafe.
The French King Louis XIV had the following text engraved on his cannons: Ultima Ratio Regum. (See this website for a little bit of explanation: http://www.dogtulosba.com/archives/000312.htmlhttp://www.dogtulosba.com/archives/000312.html )
Nowadays it seems that just about every weapon belonging to USA forces should be stamped with the following...
Guns:
Pax Americana (The peace of America)
Orbis Non Sufficit (The world is not enough)
Guided missiles and precision bombs:
Neutiquam erro (I am not lost)
Airforce One:
Asinus asinorum in saecula saeculorum (The jackass of jackasses in the centuries of centuries or The greatest jackass in eternity)
Incidentally as proof of that we should all be very worried about America with weapons:

I say what happens if you accidentally lean on it?
The author of that report Bruce Blair belongs to an organisation called CDI (Center for Defence Information) which is the US Strategic Defence equivelent of The Fortean Times
*Not being particulalry knowledgeable wonders what Fotean Times is*
Anyway I originally read about it in one of the papers, thats just an example of it.
Fortean Times is a magazine covering subjects such as the paranormal and other strange and unexplained phenomena (unexplained meaning that you believe that there is no explanation despite a plethora of completely reasonable and plausable possibilities)
Wow! What a lot of long words, and all before tea time. Am I possessed?
No, youre not possessed Karoline, just enthousiast. I know that site, read it from time to time because the articles are usually quite amusing, here is the address: http://www.forteantimes.com/index.htmlhttp://www.forteantimes.com/index.html . Im active on a forum dealing with the supernatural and UFOs (amongst others) and its usually fun. There are loads of such sites on the internet, you just have to google a bit, a lot of them are involved with conspiracy theories but it makes interesting reading on a cold long dark winterevening.

You might have guessed by now that I collect websites.:proud:
I have a lot of others about various subjects if anyone is interested.
I actually think all this paranormal, UFO, conspiracy theory stuff is a load of c**p to be quite honest. One evening about 5 years ago there were 100s of reports from people in my area who saw a UFO. If they had bothered to look properly instead of jumping to conclusions they would have seen what I saw which was that this object had the word FUJI written on the side!
Crop circles made by UFOs????? Nah! Just silly middle-aged men having a laugh in a wheat field with some tape measures and sticks!
Area 51? What better way to cover up X Project technology by fuelling the myth of UFOs? Have you noticed that the apparent design of UFOs in sightings over the years have matched X-Plane developments?
Just thought Id share my most used news site http://slashdot.org/http://slashdot.org/

Hard to tell, Im assuming its a joke, the fact that theyve got Razer in place of a supposed picture of Sir Killalot maybe supports this idea, but I aint sure (I might be missing the point and completely overlooking the sarcasm in it if its meant to be comical though :))
Read the rest of the website and youll know.

Because I was curious about blogging, wanted to study the dynamics involved and had so many nice stories about my pets I have finally succumbed to the temptation and started to blog.
My blog can be found at http://houseofchaos.blog-city.com/http://houseofchaos.blog-city.com/ . I hope you enjoy it.
(Start reading the post on the bottom and then work your way up. New entries will come on top of the others.)
Stay tuned for The house Of Chaos !
and theres me with my minor blogs on various profile sites about how hateful i find a certain thing. I write loads, but mostly fiction for various purposes. Reality is so....mundane...
And now for something more random than 1. The picture on my profile shows a screen shot of a scan I made of our local paper today.

I decided to do something else than being the next person who either cusses about something she dont like or spins another honey-sweet boring family tale. Give me stark and ugly feline-inspired reality any day !

Just look at the starting price, and the seller says but with a sensible starting price.
