Yep! Its the best region in the country.

The other date available is the 21st if that would suit you better Craig. I do not want to push the next meeting back any further as I wish to ensure this social will occur before the next FRA meeting.

As always, any issues or matters you have can be brought to my attention at any one of the many events I attend, or thru email.

I will be contacting other region members on Monday so please let me know ASAP about the date as I do not wish to mess anyone around.

Where is it likely to be? The region spans a lot of space. At the moment I can make either date.... but I will need to know soon which it is and where. Thanks. Richard

This is a nice pub situated close to Hatfield/ A1(M) and not far from the M1/ M25. I have been there before on a Sunday and there is usually plenty of parking... In the event of the pub being full, we can a) sit outside or b) find another.

Sadly apathy seems to rule amongst this areas Roboting community .....at least as far as attending the meetings it does :sad:.

Thats a shame, I know there were several teams about the south midlands area a couple of years ago. Do we have an active FRA rep?

Im currently judging interest for another South Midlands Social.

Well Milton Keynes doesnt sound bad at all.

Its reasonably central and straight forward to get to.

Does anyone have a preference on date (weekday/ weekend)?

Now Im finally in a job that doesnt involve weekends (hooray!), Im happy to fit in with everyone else. How close to Keynes are you Julian?

Stevenage, Hertfordshire. Half an hour or so. I grew up just to the North of the City of Trees.

However, being the main carer for my youngest child who has a disability gives me the social life of the late Rudolf Hess.

John, as youve nominated yourself to find a location please do. Preference would be somewhere quiet we can sit down and chat... food would be a bonus.

No problem, but my choice may depend on whether were looking at an afternoon or evening meet. Saturday the 15th or Sunday the 23rd look good to me, preferably the 23rd. How do people feel about that as a date and about the afternoon/evening option?

Well, as long as people go along with that theres a couple of pleasant canal-side pubs near me. Theres the New Inn in New Bradwell, and the Proud Perch in Great Linford (both within Milton Keynes). Both do food. The Perch is larger and probably does a better range of food, so Id recommend that. Assuming feedback is positive on date and time Ill sort out the exact postcode so people can check out Multimap or similar. I expect people will come by car, but if any one wants to come by train to Central Milton Keynes station, or Wolverton, which is closer, I can shuttle them to the pub from there.
