not many, but at the end of the day you only need two to fight! I want to try and get more middleweights running, feathers are fun but they dont have the audience impact like the heavys do. Im trying to get a few at Robot Crusade, depends who has one running, i know steel sandwich attends a few events and I should have mine done for then.
The good thing about middles are that they can be made from either scrap or old bits of heavys.
I can understand you not wanting to run them if theres not alot enter, but remeber there was only about 4 feathers at debenham 2 yrs ago, and loook where theyre at!
Looking at the database on the site there are a few out there - iv also spoke to a few roboteers and they say they have plans to make one.

Im all for helping the new weights develop.
Please keep me posted on how many wish to attend, and i will work some arena time into the format accordingly.

Im not sure why anyone is having problems, its the same system running on the same page as previous years !Weve had over 30 applications so far so its definitley working.
If you cant use the system online then send an email to webmaster@robotrumble.co.uk with all the details requested on the signup page.
Just done that Ed. See you then.
Marien
We think we have worked out why some people arent able to use the form. Its people with personal firewalls - they arent passing back identification information to the server which it uses to ensure that the form isnt used to send SPAM.
I think if you disable your personal firewalls youll be able to use the form. Nothing I can do about it at this end Im afraid guys !
Please attempt this before emailing in applications.
Sorry !

I have not yet got a confirmation either. I would not like to miss out for the second year running. Can you please put a list down here so we know hows going.
A list will be put online at the end of the week Mark, mostly likley after Brighton Model World.
All those above who have asked if their applications have been recieved have been.
Richard - if you want to apply do so, there is a reserve list so if you have to pull out we can bump someone up from the reserve list to the running list.

Important Debenham Update
Format Update
Due to lack of interest we have had to take the move of scrapping the two competition format. The all out part of the competition was created to allow the more destructive robots to take part in events. However out of the few robots that signed up for this class, the majority by a long margin were non spinner/non destructive robots who wanted to take on the destructive machines.
This meant that the resulting class was too small to run a proper competition, and therefore we are merging the two competitions. Before we get complaints, please note that this deciscion has been taken due to a lack of interest from the destructive robots - not a lack of interest from people to fight them.
Running Lists
We have therefore joined the two heavyweight classes to form one large class. The heavyweight robots on the running list are (in no particular order)
[*]Merlin Behemoth Pussycat Dantomkia Savage Toaster Steel Sandwich Mighty Mouse Velocirippa Tornado Judgeshred PLF Mute Storm II 8645t Barberous Edge Hog Iron Awe Scorpion Tanto X2X Bulldog Breed Scraptosaur Kan-Opener Thor Big Nipper Ripper Stealth Shockwave Barbaric Response Toecutter 2
If you have applied as a heavyweight and are not on that list, you are currently on the waiting list. Those robots who want to show what they can do with their weapons outside of the main competition are welcome to organise axe/spinner/crusher frenzies with anyone they can agree terms with !Suggestions to Jonno who is looking after the format - roamingrobots@yahoo.co.uk
The Featherweight Class is an all out class and those on the list are :
[*]Horizon Storm 2 Alpha G3 KR2 The Shovel PLF Turbulence CBF G-Force Scorpion Junior GiAnto PIMPanought RIP Rampge 2 Smash and Grab Half Wit
Antweights [*]Chroma Hades Ants Revenge ADB Frogoid Cypher Anto
We will be sending out emails shortly to those on the running lists and also those on the waiting lists to confirm their places and give information on the event for roboteers.

Last again.....
you may be last Mark, but Ive got a DNF
did not finish, ie, not on the list, ah well, maybe some people will drop out
Boooo Hissssss
What no spinners
Were going backwards boys and gals...
Sam
I cant believe it, after all that has been said about not having events where spinners can run, heres one and hardly no spinners sign up. Whats going on?
There all scared of the flippers Paul.
Oh Well.
Mr Stu
wheres your application sam ?
Thought you would be first on the list.
Not for want of trying Paul!
Robin (Tip-Top)
Robin, I thought you had retired Tip-Top.
Well....Just got back from holiday to find all of this!!
To echo Pauls comment ...We finaly get a chance to run our spinners in anger...and what happens..No one turns up!!
(I would be interested to know who else with a spinner had signed up for full combat)
As one of those spinner teams who DID opt for full combat We are more than happy to try to arrange a little full on with any other machines (Spinners or not)...Jonno, if there is enough interest may we have a little arena time if you would be so kind?
I am correct in thinking that spinners will not now be able to run at all in the comp. part of this event?
Geoff,
Team Scorpion.
The situation was this :
We split the competition into two in order to allow those with spinners to run, and those who didnt want to take heavy damage to run.
When the applications were first in we had on a first come first served basis :
12 Robots in Gentle Comp
9 Robots in the All out Comp
The rest of the spaces were taken up with Feathers and Ants.
Of those 9 robots in the all out comp only 2 (Barberous and Scorpion) actually needed to be there (ie spinners). There were a couple of crushers, however having more control over what they do, they can run in either. There were plenty of non-destructive robots (Bulldog, 8645t, Storm II, Tanto and others) who had signed up for the class to have a go.
Splitting the overall numbers into two for the sake of 2 robots in one class simply wasnt practical to run a competition - therefore we had to take the step of joining the classes back together.
It is a real shame, but this has nothing to do with people not wanting to fight spinners, there simply wernt enough spinners entered to justify the class Geoff ! We did some shuffling of robots on pit tables to include some more bots in the competition, but we were sadly left with no choice due to the lack of spinners entering the competition.
Tip-Top did also apply (though quite late so they would have been on a waiting list anyway), however it was decided that Tip Top simply wasnt safe for a number of reasons.
Paul is right, given all the fuss that the spinners make about wanting events they can attend, its a shame when you lay one on and they dont all sign up !

Ed,
In the message above you said: The rest of the spaces were taken up with Feathers and Ants. I only entered my feather because I am already coming with a heavy. If withdrawing my feather means another place for a heavy then let me know and Ill do it.
John, shouldnt be a need for that - people pull out... and people fill up the spaces.

time used to be that Debenham was a good test before robot wars
as it looks unlikely to happen this year its looks like debenham will be a center piece for all out combat. Were down for it coz we want to see how well stand up against some desent spinners, as none are going were lookingfor driving prectice :P lol Im such a comedian
All - I missed a few teams off the entry list.
They are :
Ripper, Stealth, Shockwave, Barbaric Response and Toecutter 2.
My apologies - you were on the list that mattered (our spreadsheet), but didnt end up on the website.
Forum Admin has updated the lists above with these robots too.

Guys I am looking for a lift from the Ipswich Train station to the event. I am flying into standsted at 7.45. I get a bus and a train to Ipswich arriving there at roughly 9.30. Can anyone give me a lift from there to the evnet or if it suits better from standsted to the event?
I am willing to pay petrol etc.
Regards
Ian Mc DOnald
How can i get tickets for this?
Ed, the attendee list from robotrumble website is missing.
Mike.
Its not missing Mike - Ive been away all week and just got home this evening.
Website will be updated at the weekend.

Im still not sure whats going on. Is it still full combat? It would still be unfair to throw the 2 discs out. Mind you it would be unfair to the other 12 that signed up for sunday drivers if they stayed in :)
Alan asked about middleweights a few weeks ago. Steel Sandwich will attend but he will be fighting as a heavy - this is because there are so few middleweights around that if I want fights thats the only way. If anyone wants a proper middleweight fight they need to let me know in advance and either we can agree that two or three extra kg dont matter or I can reduce the weight.
