Just be careful...

I don't think they were LDPE. There seems to be two kinds of off the shelf chopping board, the horribly brittle type (literally like glass) I had and the slightly gummy type. I have cracked the latter in tests also. It's very much like a cracky HDPE.
The glassy stuff I had was inconsistently moulded with holes inside, was semi opaque and was much more like acrylic or polypropylene than any polyethylene I've messed with.
In any case I'm fighting Niels twice so hopefully it is a slightly cracky type. :D
Valkyre 2 gauged it... No cracks... Took the topplate half off as well.
I tentively put Glutton on the scales today.
I was worried about it's size and I got a bit of work to do.
It does live up to his name it seems...
It can 'eat' another 4 kg at the moment.
The only things missing while weighing it were the wiring and a toplid.
Just had a thought, the material you are using might be UHMWPE, or Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene. Certainly looks right. Its designed for high abrasion applications and doesn't warp as it has very low moisture absorption. No idea how to test for it though so just an idea.
Any chance of some pics of it on the scales?
Not a pic...

Sounds and looks really good Niels. Am nervous!
I got nervous as well... It's scary to do this kind of stuff for the first time.
Can't stop grinning either...
Murphy struck again. Everything was going splendidly.
I soldered my xt60's on the esc's, motors and when I wanted to solder the 5.5mm bullet connectors to complete the wiring I couldn't find them anywhere... Ordered some from hobbyking and hope they will arive within 3 days...
Ordered some back-up belts as well. Something tells me they may be needed.
You do know those bullet connectors will reappear just after the new ones arrive? It happens to me all the time.
Yeah, I know.
This is the pro-active way of looking for them.
Nearly combat ready.
2 more lids to make and fit the leds.
At 10.6kg currently.
Everything responds well to the remote.
Lids are made, led's are in place.
Time for loctite, decorations (paint) and try to pile on some extra weight.
Owh yeah... I still need to find out if it will fit in my suitcase...
Any pictures? :)
Perhaps I will, do you have some laying around? (72 teeth)
It's not ideal, but it gives me better groundclearence.
And done:

Didn't bother to weigh it. Can't be more than 11.5kg at the moment. I will weigh it when i pack my suitcase this evening.
12.4kg total. This includes the drum restraints.
Well, what might I say about Glutton...
It surely didn't live up to my expectations to say the least. Poor grip of the tires with a drum incapable of dealing with it's own power are the two main things that went wrong. Learned a lot though and will be continued.
Again, many thanks to everyone involved/present at this years champs. I had a blast.
