We wont be going
You only have to worry if there are 8 or 9 new builders with top quality bots - I might not read every post on the forum, but I can't recall that many new builders since the last championship. There probably won't be many new international entrants either, I have been nagging the builders over here but nobody wants to spend the $2,000 for airfares.
Germany would be with at the start, if I am worthy ^^ my Bot the old Caliope...

Damn.. that is one fine piece of metal work! Leave it as is, or maybe cover it in a clear lacquer!
Rene, please start a build diary.
Well I may or may not have a machine in place (got several other important projects on the go atm) but I am going to try and make it down just to join in the fun after missing it last year.
Hey Gary! What about Boner and 540. Both great robots! They just need a tweek surely?
Either one would need a bit of work to get running decent but tbh they are out classed by the current generation of featherweights and I don't want to waste the time and money on a machine that has no chance.
540 is a great bot, as is Boner (I can't say it sincerely). I don't think either is outclassed, in fact IMO they both have a good chance of doing very well in competition.
Winning isn't everything. Having fun is more important.
And yes, I am aware that winning adds to that fun :P
Yeh Boner is certainly up there, very stiff competition from what i have seen. It will be a hard one to beat, and i am sure it will be right up there ;)
Btw, in case people dont qualify. Is there a limit on Whiteboard entries? - id like to bring the new Utopia along, but not enter it into the main competition.
sorry to ask this silly question, but are newcomers still aloud to compete in world championship or only in the uk championship?
or this uk championship will held at same day as world championship or not?
Not sure that the Robochallenge crew have finalised details yet, but I can't imagine newcomers will be turned away if there are places, if I'm being completely honest.
Would be good if the applications for entry could open soon as hotels aren't going to get cheaper the closer to the event we get, and for work it's always good to book the time off as early as possible.
Hi Guys
World Championships update :)
Applications to enter the 2015 World Championships will be open in the next few days! From here we aim to announce all the successful entries and reserve list by mid January. The entry list, once all entries are confirmed will be announced by the end of January. Regarding newcomers, we would like to invite everyone to apply for the event which gives you the opportunity to include all the details about your machine. You will also be able to email a picture of your machine or progress so far. This way we can be sure to get the best 50 teams in the World competing at Robo Challenge. This puts newcomers in a great position to really push what you can do. For example a new axe robot being built is more likely to gain a place than an unreliable old drill brick as we can assess which is likely to be more competitive against all types of machines. Entries do not need to have competed at our events previously either as we would like to know your teams history from all major events around the world.
Keep checking back for more details coming soon!

On the ball and signed up with Boneyard
Registered :)
Signed up with Hannibalito 3 and Valkiri 3.
Registered Flow. Gonna do demos and such on the 8th as well. Gah it's in April and the hype is already real!
Endeavours applied, doubt we'll get in though LOL
Oh well, worth a punt :p
Signed up, just a case of crossing fingers now and hoping I guess. HW2 didn't do the best last year, but now it's got a spinner so with any luck I'll make it in!
signed up Catharsis and BonX
Another Catharsis? So what happens in this sort of situation. First person who apples with the name has 'dibs'?
Awkward...
signed up 'Legion' and Sabretooth.
Catharsis II?
Catharsis evo?
Katharsis?
Cat haris?
Glutton signed in.
Does anyone have the results from last year? The signup is asking for achievements and results and annoyingly I am not sure exploding counts as an achievement for Conker 3> In fact, I am struggling to think of any 'achievements' for C3 or Binky. Both machines can cause a real mess (Nightfury, Hatchet and Ironside 2 spring to mind) but as for anything notable... I am stumped.
Binky came 12th in 2013 I believe?
I think Conker 3 is 17th... but I am not sure.
Flow is 18th... so no ;)
