I hope that the mail really comes Thursday evening, Friday morning we have to go on here and if a response is needed is the will be no more!
Berlin is not around the corner to the left! ;)
Evil is good! :twisted:Quote:
That's almost apocalyptic.
Ha ha !! It will definately be sent tomorrow. ;-)
I might try tonight but depends on time ;-)
All right!
So Ripper, we meet again :)
yes we do..... charged batteries this time !! ????
good u mentioned it :D
Due to my fault ( I thought it was next weekend) we won´t be able to come over ...
Email has been sent out, if you didnt get it let me know.
John
That's a shame Marco, it would have good seeing you again and I was certainly looking forward to seeing Brutus in action.
shame is on me ...
I might need some help with the lifting this weekend as my neck is not completely better
still looking forward to the event.
Gravity 5.2 is waiting in the car! And it is more ready than it has ever been.
tonight was great. Team Ripper!! Unlucky Team Mealstrom but the final fight was close and it was a great way to end the night.
Nice show, good driving from behemoth
*Definitely not biased at-all*
I was under the impression that dantomkia would be coming, but it didn't. I really want to see that bot.
As always many thanks to John and all the Robot Wars team for a great time.
As for Team Saint.
All three robots broke
Saint the Wotty blew!
Seraph the battery pack started to smoke!
(The name Seraph dose mean creature on FIRE!)
even Tron a gearbox failed.
Before Saint stopped it was going better than it had in years the new batteries seemed to do the trick.
So some repair work for this week and back to the Robot Wars
Once more huge thanks to Jonno and the crew for another superb weekend of fun, stress and bad language. Congratulations to Michael and Adrian on winning the first new Robot Wars Trophy :D Oh yes and somebody else also won the grudge match challenge as well :(
Quite a traumatic weekend for Team Toon. Toon Raider was rocking and as good and reliable as it always was ( after the receiver battery was charged :uhoh: ) TR2 had a weekend which resulted in bad moods, tantrums and much bad language. On the flip side Alex was quite cool about it all. The Grudge match ended up with what we at first thought was a bent ram, it now doesn't look that way,I burnt my finger with molten solder,I dropped the flipper arm on Alex's hand, I cut my leg on Toon Raider, only half of the TV worked in the Travelodge and no internet at the Travelodge.
Really enjoyed the banter with Kane over the weekend, next time we meet I will have a large tin of polish with me  Great to see so many Dutch,Belgian and Germans make the long trip over here. Finally thanks to Mario for my little gift
See you all soon
Captain Grumpy
Forget the polish... Ain't nothing gonna buff that up!
(Still quite impressed with TR2, it's gonna be a mighty machine once the kinks have been worked out)
  :rofl:Quote:

i knew i was going to lose my wheel in the last fight.
Back to the drawing board on Gravity's flipper arm. Major damage did real damage to it while throning gravity out of the arena after a fight.. Maybe a grudge match between gravity and major damage next time?
Hi Guys,
Well once again we’ve raised the bar of our Robot Wars show keeping us at the top !!!!
During the Saturday evening show I'll be honest, i had a warm feeling when i watched the start of the show in the audience, as we have now officially gone from Roboteers putting on a show with our robots, to a proper professional show which i consider to be on par with any touring theatre show ! Such a great feeling to be where I always dreamed we could be, and of course with the new brand is just unreal.
A big thank you to all the roboteers who joined us, including the Dutch, Belgium, and German roboteers who we will see some of you in Guildford, and of course our awesome crew who had to work under pressure due to the fan belt snapping on the truck and arriving late !
Mark and Chris have settled down now in their new roles as co-presenters, and they will get better and better throughout the year !!
3 nearly sold out shows, and 3 fantastic spectacle shows !
On the whole our new format tweaks were very well perceived by both audience and roboteers from feed back we have had, our things like the pit camera interviews, and tag team competitions really gave the audience the feeling that they were involved in the show !!
Removing some of the wires has had the desired effect and has brought back some more oota’s, the audience do like to see the ootas !!
Congratulations to Eruption, a tribute to all the hard work over the years, and you got to take home one of our brand new fantastic Robot Wars trophies !! Now that’s what you call a trophy !!!
It was a funny final, I haven’t watched it yet, but the top 4 robots of the event were all on form and it could have gone any way !! Great to see Behemoth self righting again
Work has already begun on Colchester, only 4 weeks to go…. with a few tweaks to the new current format, addition of a flame jet on the arena floor ( watch out its been coming for a while ) and you never know.. a few more house robots might be able to join us as work has begun on the mission to find them !!!

P.s we can organise more grudge matches if you like Jeroenl :-)

John don't do it It will only cost you more money. you can't beat TAN,
Saint will fight it for you :D we won't beat it either but it can't hurt us
TAN loves kart wheels, they are nice and crunchy. :mrgreen:Quote:

Sorry we had to leave so early in the last show, we had a ferry to catch so we missed the finals. Congrats to Eruption, very good performance throughout the days. Ant and Kane's footage on the flip on Bullfrog I want to see online, the airtime on that was massive.
Good to see you Leo,
Yes it got a bit confusing when we tried to fit the tag team in, making Ripper and Maelstrom fight together at the end as team captains, and link that to the event grand final !!
We have the solution to make it simpler for Colchester !! Its a learning curve but worked a treat, the audience loved being involved in the show !!

I think it is a good idea to make the tag team fights longer!
As in increase from 3 mins to 5 mins ?
Most fights don 't even reach 3 minute's ?
For example :
http://youtu.be/cVILGv6YYBU
2.50? I understand that if a fight gets boring its a good thing to count down.. But in this tag team
http://youtu.be/ffuE1vXaRFs
2.20 ?
Non tag team but still very short?
http://youtu.be/U538T6YiTsA
2.10 minute's
Intro fight :

2.20
Its something for us to think about.
We used to have 3 minute automated fight music, but we are currently redoing it all. We will be back to automation by Colchester with the new music.

Robot Wars.
Many thanks to Jonno and the new Robot Wars crew (I still keep on forgetting about the name change, it'll always be Roaming Robots really  ) for another brilliant event. Everything seemed to run really smoothly even with a new format, and I personally think the tag team added some variety to the show. It was also nice to see the European roboteers again, look forward to seeing you all again at Guildford.
I think you can all guess that the event was a success for us! Eruption ran almost flawlessly throughout the weekend with some freak behaviour in the second tag team battle, where it seemed to keep stopping, but that seems to be a one-off like the self-righting against Kronic at Whitwick. Eruption won 5 our of its 6 fights (not too sure if Eruption or Behemoth won the semi, it was a close fight), but I have to admit we did get lucky in the final, but everyone needs a bit of luck every now and then :D And to top it all off Eruption and TR2/Toon Raider are still undefeated as a tag team! Explosion broke in the last whiteboard due to a rushed Saturday morning Travelodge rebuild, but its working again for next weekend for a bit of last minute testing before the Gadget Show.
See you soon either at York or the Gadget Show/Colchester :D
