I´m ordering http://osn.en.alibaba.com/product/51...tery_pack.html ... they are 90 gbp each ... somebody interested ... ?
We use them in Hades en now also for Brutus , very reliable batteries ... !
Really looking forward to seeing this in action. With the drive on this it should really move things around the arena
Now 4-wheeldrive instead of 2 wheeldrive ... still on 24v instead of 36 volts ... drives great/good control

This is a daft question but which speed controller do you use in it :)
First posting of this thread. 2 ÜberWotties.
Oh wow, like one wotty for each pair of motors?
Yep, and it isn't the first machine to use 2 double speedo's for drivecontrol. Typhoon 2 did so with great effect.

At the moment I´m using anderson connectors ... but we´re not happy with them . What kind of connectors are also used in RW ... and where can you buy them ... ?
Those XT150's look like they are ment to connect car batteries.
But yes, the EC5's are our prefered connectors for applications up to 120A.
oke ... thanx ... ordered the ec5´s at hobbyking ...
first time my wife had a go with Brutus ...

Looks like attacking from the front might not be an option, that pivoting wedge looks meaty :-)
Haha I'm building a wheel chair powered pushy robot I so hope I don't meet this!
tomorrow is our big testingday ... we´re going to test Brutus to its maximum , hitting brick walls or other heavy objects ... movie will follow ...
after maidstone it was obvious 2 megawottys for 4 lem´s wasn´t enough ... we had the power set at 60 % and still we could not drive as we wanted ...Ordered in total 4 uberwottys ( 4 x 400 amp´s for 5 min. cont.) so next time Brutus should run as it was designed for ... still had a lot of fun at maidstone and learned alot ...
Crikey, you must have a lot of battery capacity! How many amp hours does it take to get you through a fight?
I thought a megawotty was 1000 amps 250 per quadrant so the uberwatty is 400 per quadrant ? what's the cost of that and is it much larger than the megawotty ?
e-mail from Ian ;
What I have in mind for the Uberwotty is for it to just do one motor.
4x350A FETs in parallel for each motor.
For 4 LEMs you would need 4off Uberwottys
The mixing you would do on the transmitter and you would use two Y leads to drive the two right and two left hand Uberwottys
they are the same price as a megawotty ...
We use 6 packs a123 packs 9.2 ah ( http://osn.en.alibaba.com/product/17...tery_pack.html ) and they perform very well ... we can do 2 fights and then need 15 min. to charge them ...
got some vid´s online of fights of Brutus & Hades in Burgess Hill 2015
https://www.youtube.com/user/MrFish4You/videos
looks so quick nice job hope to fight it soon
We fried our 4th lem in 3 moths so its time to change to boshes or something else . Kos made a cad-drawing
Attachment 5316
The drawing is really impressive. How come the LEM's keep burning out do you think?
no idea ... wish we know why ... temperature is good ... amp´s are good ... wotty´s are good ... so ... ?
We replaced the 4 lem´s to 4 Movimotors ( from italy) and had our first testdrive today ... real test this weekend in Guildford ...

Guildford 2015 ; Disaster ...
one of the wotty´s died even before tech check so 3 wheel drive instead of 4 , first fight Kan-opener pulled out the link in the first minute , our topplate came of so batteries and wotty´s laying on the arenafloor and last fight one of the new motors fried ...Attachment 5406Attachment 5407
Marco, Why did the motor fry?
one of the carbonbrushes came of and got stuck in the Movimotor ...
That's a shame, I was at Guildford and I thought Brutus drove well. I also liked how Thor moved, he was using the big mag motor...
Well ... after a very nice weekend in Colchester it is clear I never have to drive Brutus again ... Bram ( my youngest son ) did a much better job driving Brutus ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=4&v=4Vh0z8zwop8 ) so that problem is done ...
I have to say I have to improve Brutus because 2 fights Brutus stopped because electronic problems we could have seen before ... so see you all in Maidstone ...
Just a picture of Brutus as it is at the moment ;
Welded today a replacement-piece in the bottomplate of Brutus ;
This is the result ;
