Hi Marien, Thanks for that. As written the rules forbid brushless motors, but the rule set is 7 years old. Is it still the case that brushless motors are forbidden, only the named motors are allowed and 40 MHz control gear is required?

The rules concerning motors have not changed. It is not so that only the named motors are allowed, but you are not allowed to go over the dimensions set out in the document (which is essentially a 700 size motor) and no rare earth magnet motors or neodymium. Brushless is still not allowed either. So any brushed 540 size can motor, 600 size, or 700 size motor that is not of a rare earth/neodymium type is allowed.
2.4GHz is allowed as well as 40MHz, but 2.4GHz is preferred.
Hi John, I normally read the German version, which is up-to-date. The English version seems to be slightly out-of-date, but only just.
Like Leo said: no brushless yet, 2.4 GHz is preferred and 40 MHz allowed.
Voltage for drive and weapon: 12 V max, except wenn LiFePO4 (A123) are used, then 4 cells are allowed.
Voltage for valves: 24 V max.
So who is going to this guaranteed?
Team RCC is going.
Our planning.
Friday 28 september, people start to gather at the House of Chaos. One of the things for that is a new attempt for a Bacon Explosion.
Saturday 29 september 8 am, we leave for the MMM.
We will stay in the Tryp hotel Wattenscheidt saturday-sunday.
Sunday we travel back , around 3 pm.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to give this one a miss. A culmination of, among other things, being busy at work and Scot-Bots/my band being the focus of my time and money means it's not something I can commit to this time.
I'd still like to go over to compete at it, but it'll need to be one of the future events.
Sure we'll be there. Robot's ready, hotel's booked.
I'm coming too, 2 feathers and a bunch of ants :)
That's a shame, Jamie. Next time eh!
It's still not 100% but I'll go ahead and say see the rest of you there. Dave, you'll have to show us how it's all done. The extent of our German is my dad's small grasp. Should be a laugh anyway!
I can explain how it goes down, but my German is very limited! I use Team RCC and Victor as translators!
I won't be coming to this either. Eurogamer that weekend!
For those that are still going, the registration site just opened:
http://www.mad-metal-machines.de/anmeldung.php
It is in English and German.
Who's got videos of this event?
I have a few videos on my youtube, I am sure there will be more coming.
