Just for comparative purposes, Satanix runs Mod 1, 12t to 72t (6:1 ratio) on 130mm wheels. Not so good with a dead push but once under something, plenty of power.

Any photos of the inside?
It needs some sort of self righter, looks like it would be hardy enough for full combat, but that is pretty flipper laden. Having said that this year's 3rd place managed to get that far without a shrimech!
4th :)Quote:

that's a very professional seperating device called a brush :D
the axe on little hitter is super strong though to get stuck in cobalt that deep.
is that at full pressure?
Lewis if you need gears technobots mod. 1.5 are on sale and most of em reduced.
a 40t gear is only a £5 and they're solid 17mm steel.
they won't fit with mod 1s though.
Cobalt was already limping a bit by this fight thanks to it's previous one with NST.
I'm saying though, in a competition that's so popular with flippers it did very well (defeating flippers along the way!) to reach 4th and not have a scrimech.
Unfortunately it also had weak top armour and horizontal sides which LH and NST loved!
Just goes to show how important reliable drive and good driving skill are.
ahem
cobalt finished 4th
That's what I said  .........
 after an edit
I dunno what you're talkin' bout......
I'll stop spamming your build thread now....
Well that shows how paranoid and knowledge I am about gearing :oops:Quote:

I know Dave (360) tried but ran into loads of problems, it's all on his build diary if you want to have a look.
Update
Well the Pink is up and running, so what's changed? Well... not a lot.
New ground clearance of 7mm I want it to be 5mm but I got 7mm.
New bulkheads.
The armour is now welded together and now Mr Pink has a 3mm mild steel top with polycarbonate windows.
why? ok the lie is, is to make it look cool, the truth is it's was overweight
All that needs to be done is screw on the top and put on the new paint.

Nice work mate :). Now Venom and Cobalt can go window shopping :).
Looking good, thinking of a bit of polycarb on my latest fw
Adds to the fun value :D
New paint on.

Mr White

Mr purple pink?
Yea it looks more purple than pink.
Event Report
There is not much to say. The new ground clearance give, Pink the ability to move about freely in the arena.
There are two problems at this time
1)I need more practise on driving and it don't help, the fact that Pink is a bit more twitchy with the wheels more free now.
2)This is the biggest problem I need a self righting mechanism but that requires a rebuild or a custom actuator.
At the end I'm quite happy with him but, when I get Mr. Purple built, I feel he may replace pink in the future.
Oh and I like to thank Alan and the Robots Live staff for putting on a great event. And thanks DAVE for jinxing me, Cobalt was there!.

Awesome!
Are you holding back a bit on the throttle? With Speed900s I would have thought it would have a load more speed and power.
There are time's when I went full throttle but most of the time, I'm turning or in a robot pile up.
oh i have an idea on how you can get it to self right , if you get 2 15-20kg servos attache them out the sides or top of the robot with a polycarbonate arm attached to them then they might have the power to roll it back over, I've ordered 2 to try on 1 of mine because the lifter doesn't move far enough to roll it back over.
anyway if you want i can keep you updated to if it works
It's an idea. Please keep me updated.
Update
Just upgrade Mr Pink with a 14.8V Lipo Battery 50C with a 100AMP fuse and new 4mm wire.

Impressive! Especially for not a very high voltage, looks like it drives very nicely, and easily.
What ESC have you got in there?
The same Victor 883's I always have.Quote:

50c and Victors the Speed900 get all the amps they need!
Woooo! I'm so pleased it has boosted the performance, and from the video by a lot!
All in the discharge folks.
I can see you getting some OOTAs if you hit someone hard enough with that! It looks amazing to; reminds me of the original US robotwars winner La Machine, but yours move about twice as fast! Cant wait to go toe to toe with it!
I have a problem, all the sudden Pink does not respond to the transmitter, Pink does sputter a little bit in response and then stop's.
I've done some test to pin point the problem, I think it's the pwm signal booster cable's or the ESC's which are flashing yellow, don't know if this is a good thing or bad.
Just to tell how it happened, I was bored and wanted to play around with the DX3E it was going fine until there was not much movement in it.
Not to sound condescending, but, checked the batteries? Has caught us out in the past.
Try the obvious things first. Like Ellis said the batteries can be the source of several flashing issues. You are running a brand new LiPo so you may need to balance charge it. Then check the output on your regulator to the Receiver. That has got me several times when it wasn't running right and cost me a receiver as well; it got cooked with 14.8v :uhoh:
Well first I need to get a power supply, not relay got round getting one.
I don't use a regulator, don't even know what it is  and I power my receiver with a ParkBEC 5V 1.25A BEC that can handle up to 8s lithium.
I thought I'd post this here, I told Ed Hoppit that this robot was Mr Purple (because of the new paint job), not Mr Pink, so he said Mr Purple when he announced the winner of one of the melees :P
Well the paint is stared to look more pink these days, I guess it's got something to do with time. I do own purple paint and it looks noting like this
At the Deeside Leisure Centre event, this has been Mr Pink's best and worst event so far. Winning 1 round, nearly winning 1 round, got count out and commit suicide.
Upgrading to the 14.8v lo-po battery was the right choice but now, Pink is hard to control, I don't know if you can blame it on the arena floor or my drive skills, but I say both.
I may have to consider putting a gyro in him. But I don't know were to get one. (I have looked) I do have plans on making a new Mr.Pink with a lifting scoop. Why not a flipper? Well the combat robot world, does not need more flippers.

I use a GWS pG-03 gyro. If your robots going to be invertable at any point, I would recommend a gyro switcher to turn the gyro off remotely (otherwise it goes into a death spin).
If you can put a linear actuator into the scoop, do it :).

i got 1 of these for testing they seem pretty good
I could be wrong, but I think that's a heading lock gyro, which basically means, when you arm it up and then drive it, the gyro will keep turning the robot to the direction it was facing originally when armed up. I will check this though :P.
well if that 1 is there here is 1 that isn't

Update
I just got a GWS pG-03 gyro and played around with it, but how do you know when it's working? It's my first time using one of these.
Also do you mount in flat of side ways?
