what is the sevo and microswitch for?
In the video the flipper is still running at full pressure but there was a large gas leak and the bottle was nearly empty.
The servo and microswitch is used to fire the valve
were you running it at FP in the video?
:lame: :lame: L2read
ohh sorry didnt see that
Managed to locate the gas leak today- should be sorted now. Also got round to painting it.

Also started work on my new fleaweight- Inertia XS- there will be 2 of these made to enter as a clusterbot. Made the disc for the first one. It's 36mm diameter and 5mm thick made from 3 layers of titanium

the bot looks good.
what's the scoop made from mild steel?
is the wheels you are using from gimsons robotics?
Thanks,
The scoop is 3.2mm Hardox, The wheels didn't come from Gimson Robotics but I think they are the same ones.
robots looking nice,
you put those bosch motors i sold you to good use yet will?
We are working on it at the moment as Dad has finally made a start on the gearboxes for them- not sure when Soundwave will be finished yet but it will make an appearance this year
Shockwave is now pretty much finished- over a month early which must be a record for me.
Also been working on my new antweight clusterbot which will have 2 fleaweight versions of Inertia fighting together- here is the first one- Inertia XS1
http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/75e0c41c.jpg
And a quick video of it driving http://youtu.be/TeVYPcC4JwM
Will get a video of the disc in action when the new brushless arrives.
looks very nice good job :D
Finished Inertia XS1 today and got the spinner working- at 50% throttle in the video but it seems to work well considering the whole thing weighs only 75g!

The parts for XS2 arrived today and I aim to get that one done when I get back from uni.
I do like the idea of running 2, smaller Inertias as a clusterbot- might have to make a featherweight one :)
Decided to give Inertia XS the coke can test- seems to do the job- also gives you an idea of how small it really is :)
http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/143b87a3.jpg
It is tiny :) Good comparison, looks much larger in other pics imo
can we have brand names blacked out please this is not free adverts ....lol

Now do the same but with a full can. That has been shaken up.
I did that once, I was testing F.I.N on a bench and hit a full can of coke, went everywhere!
On the plus side, it looks good in slow motion!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl1cOdXizC8
That is brilliant, love it.......you now have one sticky robot
the slow mo looks brill
Impressive how the inertia of the robot lifts it clean off the ground.
Me and Dan once shot a full can of expandable foam with an air rifle, that was awesome! Didn't catch it on film though unfortunately.
Foam everywhere, and then it started to grow, it was like a horror film.
it's an alright bot, i'd like it more if it wasn't so flawed.
mini inertia looks cool :)
Spent today doing some work to the robots to get them ready for Barnsley.
Shockwave 2 now has some new wheels fitted- thanks to Robochallenge for donating a set of their new competition wheels for us to test- will be trying them out at Barnsley and Whitwick.
http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/0674eca3.jpg
Also swapped to A123s in Shockwave to save some weight and space over the Ni-Mh packs so that we can fit some Ti covers on the sides.
Maelstrom now has a new back end and Bosch 400's which seem to be a big improvement over the old motors.
Tomorrow I will be hopefully finishing the Inertia XS fleaweights as well as fitting everything into Inertia 4 (on the right)

There awsome
Is 0.5mm titanium dont know what grade good enough to withstand that devostating spinner.
Is there any chance you could give like a fact file on interia saying what parts you use?
Think investing in armour is wise
Looks epic
Couple of updates.
Here is the only pic of Lambda Delta that will be shown before the UK Champs :)
http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/dba09cb3.jpg
Also I have finished my smallest ever spinner- Inertia XS weighing in at just 59g!
Here is a video

That's awsome

Finally got round to putting Inertia XL back together for this years UK Champs.
First job was to weld the front scoop back together as LS4 broke it last year.
Then it was time for some new mounts for the speed 900's as they shattered in the same fight so I made some new steel ones to replace them- also got some nice new blue belts for it
http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/ff70206e.jpg
Weight should not be too much of an issue since the Ni-Mh batteries have been replaced with A123's which has also allowed for the disc ratio to be changed (if the new pulleys turn up in time)
Apart from that not a lot has changed from last year- added a better locking bar and thats about it.
http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/7a4dd5a3.jpg
Aftershock 4 is also coming along nicely- just one more panel to cut and then wire it up and its good to go.
Lambda needs a lot more doing to it as it has only just been started- the spinner and drive are mounted but nothing else is- the rest isn't too complicated so I reckon another couple of days and it will be running.

Got Lambda spinning- only at 14.4v at the moment but seems to work :)
http://youtu.be/BXMAcIgv8uI
Didn't you start building a drive all day lifter? Or am I getting confused.....
Yes, the lifter is Aftershock 4- bottom right in the above pic
Oooooohh, I understand now.....
Lol is that mr happys old chassis? I built that like 6 years ago :P
Nope- all new robot but looks very similar :) building it for one of my mates to enter into the UK champs after that it will be used as a run all day/ demo bot for uni and other events
Looking good
What motor are you using for the spinner?
It looks like a cute little bunny rabbit
With a spinning bar of death lodged in the middle of its skull
