Likewise, I'll sign up once I know which robots of mine are actually likely to exist at that time. Ideally Carcinus and Grond but will have a better idea in the next week or so. Not that there's much rush at the moment :)
If you don't mind me asking, how many robots are signed up for this? I thought the Guildford event would shadow it in terms of attendance as Guildford might be closer for a lot of people. Would hate to loose the only Scottish event for next year if there aren't enough roboteers making the journey.
Current Heavies
Merlin
Kronic
UFO
Big Nipper
Toxic 2
Storm Force
Apocalypse (tbc)
Plus Feathers, Boxers, Mechanoid, Dalek, Walker.
As were only doing 30-45 minute shows then we don't need many. Last year we did 2 heavy fights, a feather fight and a boxing match per show, with the mechs driving around the museum. Might add a extra heavy fight depending on how were doing and how busy it is. They really seem to be advertising it well this year, so should be a good turn out. I'll send a email out over the next week or so, can anyone coming make sure they sign up here http://www.robotslive.co.uk/signup2011.htm so i have you email addresses.
Ahh right, nice one. As long as its going to all go well then that is great :D
Got our accommodation booked now; had to settle for a Travelodge (Musselburgh) as most places were either fully booked or too expensive. Serves me right for leaving it so late. The good thing is that it's on the way to the venue and just off a motorway junction, so we shouldn't get lost
Now just got to get the robots ready!
Why are you staying in a travelodge when you already live in Scotland Jamie? lol
Because despite this being a 'local' event, it's still almost two hours drive away, and I'll be damned if I'm getting up at silly o'clock on Sunday morning to make it across in time :lame:
Plus we're coming across on Saturday to help assemble the arena so it wouldn't be logical or economical to travel all the way back to Irvine just to travel all the way back to Edinburgh for Sunday.
I'm not gonna be able to make this one. Few too many things have come up on the same weekend.
No probs, iv'e sent an email out to those coming, let me know if you haven't got it.
