What did you use to angle the base plate to match the sides ? I can never get a clean even angle on HDPE.

A wood saw
Does the removable link need to be on the top of therobot or can it be on a side?
With an invertable robot it should either be accessible from either way up, so put it eithr in the side or the back end.
Yeah, Noobie question... What is a removeable link and why do you need it? and whats it used for?
A removeable link is basically a loop of wire within a removeable connector, pulling it out will disable the robot and shut everything down. Its in the rules so that if a robot runs riot or there is an immdeiate problem you can turn the robot off externally. For example, Big Nipper went into full forward against the wall at wigan, and pete had to pull the link to cut power to the robots internals.
Okay thanks, but doesn't it leave the robot vunarable? So if a spinner disconnects it some how?
And just to emphasie the point, at aylesbury dantomkia ran full backwards into the wall and Pete had to pull the link to cut power to the robot internals.Quote:

There is the side effect of removeable links that a decent whack can dislodge them, however, there are various methods to keep them in the robot but still be able to remove them when required. For example, The Saint slings itself around a lot, however it has a cover over the link which holds down a lump of plastic bolted to the link itself. The cover can be opened up without tools and the link can be removed.
And yes PanelSmart, your LED must be visable externally.
yep stick it next to your link
