And no, I was joking about making my least successful robot a clone of Underall. Dear God, I even said I didn't want Underall.
About getting robots: I don't go for active robots. I go for robots that are retired. It's the closest thing to having an actual robot museum that I've ever had. I enjoy acquiring elderly designs, because it gives me a chance to put my spin on them. Like say, increase the power of its weapon, or revise the armour to make it more sturdy. Case in point: Just as one man's trash is another man's treasure, one vapourboteer's discarded robot is my treasure.

I have to echo Andy's point about people no longer using How Could I Improve - as well as this sorry business, looking around peoples' forums I can see a fair few dimensioning mistakes, machines that are overweight, designs that are far too compact or have parts that just don't make sense, and I don't feel comfortable doing or have the time to send everyone PMs about specific robots...if people used the thread then the errors could be picked up now rather than when tournaments are entered.
This goes for Mark's 'improvements' too as it would really avoid a lot of threads being cluttered if he were to just post them in that thread first so people can raise their issues there, and if nothing else it would centralise the arguments to prevent Leo having to exercise his super mod powers.

Any more of these kind of derails in other peoples tournaments will result in an official warning for all people involved in the derail. Any problems with a post, report them to me with a reason why they are a problem and it will be dealt with. Do not clutter up the tournament with back and fort's on legalities of the entries or stat problems. PM me, I will contact the person in question.
