I don't know if any of you noticed, but this 'event' (and I use the term very loosley) was organised by / held at a government college of engineering!
What does that say about the 'duty of care' the Indian government shows for students in it's own educational establishments?
Can you imagine that sort of thing happening at say Brunell University dept. of engineering?
Moral of this story... If you get an invite to attend a robotic combat event in India... Just say no!
(you'll live longer that way!!)
funny you should mention brunel i might be going there for uni :)
unfair comment Geoff, they may not be very safety concious but nobody was hurt, surely finding who organised the event and making some suggestions on saftety on behalf and the sports gouverning body would be more helpfull than sitting behind a computer and mocking,
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing
also i'd like to add that oundle mill xmas events used to run robots in a car park with no protection, i fought King B and Tornado with TX108 while running round behind it because we had no signal, Exterminator with its disc ran at full tilt while we stood a few feet away.
this was 2003-2004
It was events like this that the FRA was brought in for, its a dangerous sport and it needs the governing body to do its job which it has been doing.

sorry Ian not picking on you, just not very safe
dont find any of the vids not very safe only one which i think is bad if its classed as bad is where someones sitting on the bot but the other times hes flipping stuff away from the crowd and the bulldog 1 there just having a fight in a car park where there is a wooden wall which is obvs to tell the crowd there not allowed in there
I love the proper old skool car park battles. Obviously you can't throw spinners into the mix, but theres just something added by the scraping across tarmac that puts more excitement into the battle :)
was thinking the same the other day
cool, they will automatically remove themselves from the gene pool !
