Re: Alex's Fourtress - Mini Tourny
Updated Tactics:
If I face Under Pressure: Raise the lifting arm, get underneath Under Pressure, and clamp down with the lifting arm ala The Big Cheese vs Anorakaphobia, shove it into any pit, nuff said. If I suffer any damage, just shake it off and continue pushing.
If I face Axeon 4.0: Raise the lifting arm, get under the side of Axeon 4.0, then clamp down with the lifting arm. Then, shove it into the nearest pit.
If I face Gabriel V: Get over towards a pit and stay in the corner. If he goes thwackbot, stay in the corner and do not go after him. He'll be using his battery power up, while I'll have more juice. Keep the lifter raised, so if I get under him, I can repeat my Under Pressure/Axeon 4.0 tactics on him(clamp down with the lifting arm and pit him. Anyways, it'll be nice to see how the clone does against the original.

Best of luck Kody and Andy, and, uh, Mark as well I guess.
Are you feeling alright, Joey? :proud:
Re: Alex's Fourtress - Mini Tourny
...I meant 4.0 and Marti respectively, sorry :proud: the last one was intended though, reference to some cartoon or other.
Last time I worked it out 9.2ah was about enough power to run those two motors for ten minutes at near to full power, so if Mark believes I will be running out of juice he is quite frankly barking up the wrong tree.
Re: Alex's Fourtress - Mini Tourny
Tactics:
Axeon 4.0 vs. Under Pressure
The shape of Axeon 4.0 means that Under Pressure is going to find it difficult to get the claws around it and crush. I€™m going to try and use my manoeuvrability to get round the back of Under Pressure. Once there I can fire the axe and try to damage the wheels and/or the hydraulic ram. By wedging underneath it looks like I could lift Under Pressure€™s wheels off the ground and push it about easily.
Axeon 4.0 vs. Gabriel V
Again, to be able to control the match I need to get to the sides or rear. Keep firing the axe and try to cause some damage. Aim for the edges - that€™s probably my best chance. Another idea is to try and grapple with the ears and drag Gabriel V around.
Axeon 4.0 vs. Tallit
Due to the shape similarity, I€™ll use the same tactics here as against Gabriel V. Keep to the sides and rear and try to hit the edges with the axe. The benefit here is that I should be much more manoeuvrable due to Tallit€™s shuffle pads. Because of this I should be able to avoid the lifting arm.
Good luck Martijn, Joey and Mark.
Re: Alex's Fourtress - Mini Tourny
Just rolled the draws...
Under Pressure (Martijn) vs Tallit (Mark)
Axeon 4.0 (Andy) vs. Gabriel V (Joey)
I aim to have it all written up wand done in the next 24hours!
Re: Alex's Fourtress - Mini Tourny
woops, forgot my tactics
against Tallit; due to my axlebot genes he will have a hard time controlling me. whereas if I can get a good grip, I can control him, pit!
against Axeon; due to my axlebot genes he will have a hard time aiming for me, whereas if I can get a good grip, I can control him, pit!(but dont forget to stay out of its axe's reach while in control :proud: )
against Gabiel; due to my axlebot genes I can drive inverted, whereas if I can get a good grip, I can control him, pit!
best of luck Kody Andy and Mark!
Re: Alex's Fourtress - Mini Tourny
And so€¦ four machines enter the Fourtress, but only one may leave. The draw is decided, and so now there is nought to do but fight. The rules are simple - batteries keep going forever, the fight keeps going and only pitting or immobilisation can end it. No judges decisions, no cheap house robot or arena hazard kills - just two robots.
Fight the First: Under Pressure (Martijn) vs Tallit (Mark)
3€¦
2€¦
1€¦
Activate!
At very similar speeds, both robots are quickly out the starting positions. While Tallit dives straight forward, raising its lifting arm ready to use it as a gripping weapon, Under Pressure curls round its foe to the left side. However, the slightly quicker Israel representing machine hits the right claw of Under Pressure before it can entirely dodge the attack, spinning the pincer robot on its own axis and the second claw round against Tallit€™s side.
Taking advantage of this unintended situation, Martijn begins to close his pincers, although the 5mm titanium skirts of its foe impede this attack. However, it does succeed in warping the positioning of the hinge, actually pushing the whole of the left side of Tallit up onto the edge of its own skirts while the arm at the front actuates harmlessly away from its intended target. Grasping this opportunity, Martijn pushes on with the attack, slamming his opponent forward against a wall.
Fortunately for Mark however, the impact frees him from his skirt-wedged position, freeing him enough to allow him to spin around and get his own weapon into play, and he catches Under Pressure in between the claws with his lifter. However, he only lifts so far before the rounded inner shape causes Martijn to drop back to the floor beneath, and allowing it to pursue its own attack.
This time it is far better angled, and the ensuring grab and charge brings the pair to a corner where wall makes way for pit. There is some rapid tussling between the two, but the leverage Under Pressure has seems to give it the edge, and Tallit finds itself teetering dubiously on the edge, although gradually creeping back up, and slipping as it does so. Under Pressure however backs off to survey the situation beyond coming in for one last shove to send its opponent into the dark below.
UNDER PRESSURE ADVANCES TO THE FINAL!
I was inteding to do all fights today, but have't has as much time as expected, so the two remaing fights will have to wait til I'm back from holiday.
