Paul, Just to let you know that I would definately recommend the DX5e sets, we have 10 of these at school and they work just fine.
Also with the bits you have you would be looking to build a featherweight.
The best advice I can give though is get yourself along to an event and ask someone to show you how a featherweight is put together.
Hope this helps

The Electronize BEC will probably be just fine ... some other makes of speed controller have an issue supplying enough current for the Spektrum Receiver.
So ...DX5e and AR500 plus 2 Electronize controllers ...seems fine ...bind the receiver to the transmitter.. plug the controllers into Ele and Aile on the receiver ...select MIX on the DX5e transmitter and with a bit of luck things will work.
A quick post on here should easily sort out any motor rotation / direction probs.

Just a question, sorry to hijack the thread.
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a DX6 mode 1, and am using two single channel ESCs. When I use the basic single stick mix, it puts turning on aileron (right-left on right stick) and Fwd and Bwd on the elevator( up-down left stick) how could I mix it all to one (preferably left) stick?

Mode 1
Left stick = Elevator and Rudder
So you need to pick a Ele and Rud mix = Vtail
Flaperon, V-tail, and Delta Mixing are available for aircraft that require these functions. The flaperon feature is used when two servos are located in the wing, one to control each aileron plus this function allows the ailerons to be drooped or raised while still functioning fully as ailerons. V-Tail Mixing combines rudder and elevator for V-Tail operations.

TO ACTIVATE V-TAIL (VTL) MIXING
1. In System Setup mode, press the SCROLL button until €œMIX WNG€ appears on the screen.
2. Press the CHANNEL button once to access the V-Tail Mixing screen.
3. Next press either the INCREASE or DECREASE buttons once to activate V-Tail Mixing
