A BEC is a battery eliminator circuit - it is a function found in some speed controllers which provides power to run the receiver. Yes, you can use a receiver battery with its own switch for a fighting robot. Remember to turn the receiver on before you put your link in, if you do it the other way you are likely to fire any weapon you have and the drive motors will twitch the robot.
Your 1500-015 speedo has a BEC, this will have two orange wires coming out of it, these have to be connected together to turn on the BEC, these wires are supplied if you wanted to put a switch, but the best thing is to just leave them connected so you RX powers up when you put your link in.
If you do this, only connect up the orange wires from one of your two speed controllers. Leave the BEC of the other one off to avoid possible damage to your receiver.
neither have any orange wires, the ones in Psycho fling do but these ones dont Are they nessecary?

It depends on whether you want to use the BEC or not. If you want to use it, you will have to turn it on. If you dont want to use it, just carry on with using a receiver battery.
one should have the orange wires, do the speedos have the same model number on them one whould be FR15HVR? if you ordered one with a BEC then i would get in touch with technobots. You can operate the robot without the BEC and use a RX battery, just make sure you keep it charged i remember to turn it on/off.
the ones in Psycho fling do .......Could you not simply swap one speed controller from each bot?
well what i meant by that is that one of them has two orange wires coiled
so what now

I believe that these two wires should be connected together IF you want to use the receiver WITHOUT a seperate battery.
Power to the receiver will then be supplied from the Electronize via the red and black receiver wires.
how do you mean connected? end to end?
