The FRA does not necessarily need to be involved! Bear in mind that the FRA is an only an association as its title suggests, it is a group of individuals that have chosen to form a club. Any individual or event organiser can choose to associate with the FRA or not, it isnt compulsory and the FRA standards are not the only way to organise and run an event. As long as an event organiser takes the time to consider the risks and undertakes a risk assessment to protect both themselves and the public, they are quite free to run an event.
There is no legislation to force affiliation to the FRA anymore than there is for the FA, BCU, BMC, MLTB, FSB, NFU, NSA or any other trade or sporting federation you can think of. This is quite correct IMHO, no-one organistaion should be able to take total control of any sport or industry.

Mark, it wasnt listed for the reasons you think - was more invite only this year due to lack of budget, space etc..... Mike and co decided not to list it.
Thats what I understand anyway.

While a couple of robots did go out of the arena, they did not escape the fencing and were deactivated immediately.
