Time to ressurect an old thread. :)
After doing nothing for so long its time to bring back Inertia XL. I meant to get it running for GSL but both time and money were against me so time for another go.
A few changes have taken place with the design as I've dropped it to 2WD and reshaped it to look a bit more like the orgininal. It will be using the bulkheads shown above with a couple of small modifications. The disc will still be powered by a 50mm NTM outrunner which has been sitting in the workshop for about a year now. The changes to the design allow for hardox all round as on the original too.
Here is the new design alongside the beetle

What material are your bulkheads going to be :)
Knowing Will, printed ;)
Both are milled from Alu. His wheels for the beetle are printed though.
As Alex said, The bulkeads have already been machined from 15mm Aluminium but will be getting a few minor changes as shown in the CAD above. The rest of the robot will be armoured in 3.2mm Hardox as on the previous version.
This is how the bulkeads currently look http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps400cfc65.jpg
