Re: Happy Easter
Hi Ceri
Perhaps we could have a longer discussion about this next time we meet.
The languages the Bible was translated from were usually more precise in the meaning of the words.
The short answer is there is a problem with the word love it is used in lots of ways
I love my country
I love my food
I love my wife
I love my children
I love my football team
I love my mum
I love my TV program
I love my God
same word but applied differently.
Also our language is changing, so the meaning of words change, charity in the past was a word to describe a kind giving loving act. now it means for most of us the work of Charities.
The older translations use charity to describe this giving none-judgemental type of brotherly love.
Hope that helps
Happy Easter :D
