old bearings from TS2 had deformed due to only being held in nylon so to solve this i made some ali inserts.

Turns out i messed up with my sums lol, so had to clock up the original weapon reference hole i put in the bulkhead, then i held the weapon in the mills spindle and jogged the x axis untill the belt felt right. then i made a note of the new position from the original.

pocketing the new weapon position to fit the ali inserts into the bulk head...

and in, just wants the right sized bolts adding

and then all together, belt feels a bit tight but i don't think tight to the point that it'll snap, will have to see. the top bits will be chopped off soon so it wont look so wierd.

Those mounts are just beautiful! Its so, so, so just ooooooo! I love perfectly machined metals! And the new chassis... SQUEEEE!

That's really awesome, its going to be a pretty high ranking robot.

Though one question... why are you using needle roller bearings? Wouldn't tapered bearings take the loads better?

He's got no axial loading there, so no need for taper rollers.... needle rollers are more suitable for radial loads just like in this case - besides that they're compact.

Good point, cos its an egg beater design it is very unlikely to get hit on the end by a horizontal bar; so thats how you beat NST. And yeah they are very compact!

bearings wise, it was what i had left over from when i built TS2 back when i lived with my parents, i couldn't afford to buy anymore bits nowadays! it was a mega push to buy the lipo.

most the the chassis materials are out of my works scrap bin lol

The mix of precision engineering and using up spares is great xD

there, and with all the electrics piled on the top its 10.170 kg! rest of the weight will be spent on outer hardox. carefully wana design that thou in a way to deflect disk impacts better than TS2s outer hardox did.

and will have to alter the self righting arms top bar as the robots weight doesn't fully rest on it yet.
