Re: Building progress of-"untitled robot
I tested my flipper and it is really underpowered.. can barely lift 450g. :/ I think this time I will go with a basic wege bot without any special weapon.
Also,
What plastic do you suggest with what width in 'mm'?
Polycarbonate is available here pretty easily.
Secondly, I will get the plastic laser cut; do you have any basic robot design which I will give to the laser cutter guy and he will cut it.
How do I design a robot in CAD softwares like google sketchup?
Also, I like the toranto 2 robot. nice design and great flipper.
For the motor controller do you suggest me sabertooth 2x12 RC? because that's the only thing I can afford.
Thanks :)
Re: Building progress of-"untitled robot
Laser cutters can only cut certain plastics so you need to find out what your machine can cut before you buy anything. It varies greatly from machine to machine, mainly based on wattage.
Youtube is filled with videos of how to use sketch up so you will have to teach yourself. I cant stand sketch up but I am used to Solidworks which is probably why.
I have never heard of Toranto 2...
And yes the 2x12 is suitable for your robot. It does say combat up to 13.6kgs but that is really pushing it but as your machine is probably no more than 5kgs it will be fine.

Yup I am learning an have started working with Google Sketchup 3D.
Okay, I'll check that out first. Actually, I will get it done from a store somewhat near my house.
I will purchase it. Where can I buy it in USA?
