The robot looks very neat pugster!
I have found getting straight lines with thin polycarb 1-1,5mm can be quite easily done if you use a ruler to draw the edge and then cut or have someone help you cut it 2-3 times in that straight line with the help of the ruler to keep the knife going straight.
If you then bend the polycarb with this cut line at the egde of a table or similar the polycarb will crack just along the straight line and you get a really straight edge, it might be worth a try on your next robot or something like that :)
just use scissors for 1-1.5mm

How did I bend it I just melted the plastic then it was super easy to bend :D
