Re: 2 speed 900's or 4 drill motors?
Gimsons all the way
with a 100mm actuator also a gimson
also there wheels a SMIDSY esk, make it small and make it in metal, O and get the dude who owns SMIDSY to measure it so you get the proportions right
http://www.gimsonrobotics.co.uk/GR01_pl ... motor.html bargain at £25.90 each
http://www.gimsonrobotics.co.uk/GR01_pl ... motor.html you wont look back

Re: 2 speed 900's or 4 drill motors?
What you need is reliability, if a Gimson messes up simply take it out unscrew the wheel and slap another in
Re: 2 speed 900's or 4 drill motors?
Haha, it's scary how I own a big spinny thing, bust turned it into a big rammy thing and will make it into a big lifty thing
So the view seems to be 4 gimson's?
Re: 2 speed 900's or 4 drill motors?
Re: 2 speed 900's or 4 drill motors?
But, for a rammer, would it be strong enough?
Re: 2 speed 900's or 4 drill motors?
yes.
stronger than drills
Re: 2 speed 900's or 4 drill motors?
Yes they will be and you're building a lifter, reference old Style SMIDSY, which used Jaguar actuators, so not just a rammer, but a lifter rammer

Even four drills can make a decent rambot, more so if you over-volt them a bit. But the build quality of the GR01s is considerably better (in my opinion) to bog-standard drills, so they'd be more suited to a rambot.
Speed 900s would be more reliable still, but you would have to sort out some form of gearing obviously.
