DragonStrike no not on acid just a EV warrior with a Hardox 650 disc at 1 to 1
Hey tony, do you have any videos of Dragonmaster on full batteries ? Ive seen it with low batteries and it looked feeble so I was wondering what happens on charger batteries
Hi David
At the moment no vid. I have rebuilt the axe mech it is alot faster now also shortened the axe shaft. It was not feeble before just a bit slow it was going through the floor in the hut well 2inch into the floor. Will find out This Saturday what it is like now its first comp.
Cant wait to see it
BTW, I was having a discussion with Matt (Mayhem) and we thought a big FW axe melee at an event would be a good idea, consisting of:
Hells Angel
Mayhem
Little Hitter
Basher
Dragonmaster
Pure Evil
Sound like a good idea to you ?
Looks like 2007 is gonna be the year of the axe rather than the year of the drum :)
Nice to see their numbers on the up again - regardless of what damage they cause, they do make for good viewing
and to play house robot in the hammer melee, thor no wait we need somethign that works Terrorhurtz it is then lol sorry dude loves u really

Looking good Graeme. I need more armour. Well I need to get Dragon 2 running again.
Got a driveable base panel done for Drumroll (quick vid http://s31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...roll.flv>here)
That is going to be one fast robot. Good luck with the rest of the build.
Thanks Ed
Dont know if it will seem quite as nippy when its at its full 12kg but hopefully itll still be enough to avoid trouble if necessary!
Ordered the tube I plan on using for the drum today too, which leaves just the endcaps and teeth as parts still to be accounted for - its coming together steadily :)
what a lovely kitchen :)
 - thanks James
It shows up better on camera than it seems in real life. The camera isnt detailed enough to pick up the numerous scrapes on the kitchen tiles as a result of testing the bots in there though :)
Actually managed to wear down the surface of the tile to the adhesive underside yesterday when I had a pushing match between Kaizer and Drumroll. Lifted the bots up and saw the patches afterwards - parents werent too chuffed :uhoh:
Unfortunately, even before this happened, they were already planning to replace the tiles in a couple of weeks, so I need to find a new testing ground - might need to re-lay the patio so its flat enough to test on :)
those speed controllers look familiar.
Almost - I think theyre the smaller versions of the ones you sell, only up to 50A, but they do the job :)
Name - Kaizer Mk2
Drive - Four 9.6v drills run @ 14.4v on to 75mm blue wheels
Power - Four 7.2v 1.8Ah nicad packs linked in both series and parallel to give a total of 14.4V and 3.6Ah
Speedos - 30A Electronize (external relays)
Armour/chassis - Main body made from aluminium chequer plate, with polycarb front and rear bulkheads. Steel box section rail runs round sides and back for protection.
Notes - All components mounted to the top panel for a change (confused me a good number of times during the build when I forgot I was building it upside down :lame:) Steel rail round the outside (particularly at the back) was added mainly to protect the speedos at the back from spinners, but its first event out is a no spinner event (woot!) Plus, its ready three weeks before its first outing, which makes a change for me - previous record was one-and-a-half days :proud:
(Now need to get the other feather built in time!)
Piccy on profile - still need to paint the front wedge and the rails, could possibly make additional cover for the link if I can be bothered :)

EDIT: Oh aye, the bloomin thing is 3kg underweight! Its a pusher - its meant to be heavy :lol:
(Message edited by K_C_R on April 07, 2007)
So lets see, you have built a robot 25% under the weight limit, 3 weeks before the competition? Are you sure you are feeling ok?
Lol, just kidding, looks good!
Thanks Gary
But no I aint feeling ok - spent seven hours today bent over a workbench drilling and sawing etc to get it done - so my back is aching now
And broke two drills bits which I only bought yesterday!
But thats the great thing about doing this robot malarky - its worth it in the end :)
Lol it certainly is.
Here is a video of the first spin up test of hornet 2, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SEa-ilWTOMhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SEa-ilWTOM
It was done at the bottom of my garden using 2 hawkers directly connected to the magmotor (removing any potential problems with speedos or radio gear) with me huddled behind a piece of steel plate 10m away touching the contacts together.
The test was mainly just to check the mechanism and it all seems good. I think I can can free it up a bit more as it is a bit stiff but it will run itself in over time :)

Testflip of Hannibalito 2 on Hannibalito 1.3. Not unhappy with it. :)
In the words of Borat - I like, very nice!!
In the words of me - Hmm, could use that spare 3kg to install a parachute :)
Looking cool Leo

For those that do not have Quicktime.
In aswer to some PM´s: Yes it is a Featherweight it is flipping, 11.3kg
Good one, Leo.
What is your stroke and buffer size?
60mm bore 75mm stroke and a 12oz paintball bottle is the buffer.
Are there battle videos of Hannibalito 2 now?
Nope, next weekend Philip, when we go to ravage the German MMM5 event.
Thanks, Mario. It looks very impressive.
Your new one has double that power....
So long as my overall building lameness does not waste your rams power.
How about some videos, Leo?
I would love to see them too. But I was a bit busy holding a transmitter in my hands to take pictures or videos. :) Babeth should have some pictures up any time soon. Videos I dont have myself, probably a German team will post them.
Hannibalito 2 did not do well. It broke its own flipper mount. Just before that it managed to flip himself 360 from his wheels on his wheels, like an acrobat doing a standing backflip. I finally managed to win the featherweight title with Hannibalito 1. I ended up with the same amount of points as Hellfire, a German flipper bot.

that robot with the hammers for wheels is the SILLIEST thing Ive ever seen ! :D
But is was fun to watch. And it kept going.
Also, it beats sawpoint with the large sawdisks as wheels.
Just started to do the cad for Dragons Claw pic on profile. It is long 60cm.
Just a tip Tony, move the wheels to the front as it will give you better control of where you put the claw.
