Re: How could I Improve pt 2
That robot is dumb.
You'll be traction limited to a ridiculous intent. Your power to weight ratio is ~0.47hp/kg, which is well into supercar territory - a Ferrari 430 in full race spec has about 0.38hp/kg. With those shuffling feet, you will never be able to get the power down.
Also, those motors draw more than 50kw total at 72 volts. 9 battlepacks won't cut it, try about 10 strings of 3 24v 3.6ah - which will total 30 battlepacks, at 55kg of just batteries.
And even those will melt if the motors ever stall - at stall torque they'll draw about 3kA.
The kind of speed controllers you'd need would be insane too - they'd have to be custom jobs using H-bridges of industrial IGBT bricks - add 10kg at least just for the controls.

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Okay...
Sweep Mines, or Die!!!
Weight: 150kg
Shape: A basic invertible box on wheels with scoops at the front and rear, however the sides are slightly rounded.
Colour: Dark Grey, with SWEEP MINES, OR DIE!!! written on both sides in what I call Blowtorch Flame Blue.
Dimensions: 90cm x 60cm x 20cm
Drive: 2 60v LEM-200 motors, powered by 8x NiCad Battlepacks.
Locomotion: 2 Drillzilla-style shuffling fleet running through both the top and bottom of the robot, making it invertible.
Armour: 5mm Hardox monocoque, with 10mm of rubber underneath for shockproofing.
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front and back due to scoops, 5mm at sides.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: 2 solid Hardox snowplow-like scoops that can move slightly vertically, like Behemoth's, so I get good pushing power, but 0mm ground clearance at front and back. The robot also has a bunch of shockproofing around the belts, electronics, and motors, due to the fact that it was originally designed as a spinner killer/rambot.
Srimech: Invertible
Strengths: Shuffler, uses weight advantage, ENORMOUS pushing power, tough armor.
Weaknesses: No active weapon...
Bio: The previous incarnation was nothing more then a freshening. After looking at Chezza's Do or Die, I realized that, well... my pushing power actually sucked. Therefore, I went overkill and decided to use Perm 132 motors to power shuffling feet: a dangerously powerful combination. I later switched to LEM-200s, as the robot produced more hp/kg then a Ferrari race car.
And might I be talking to the FanFic member formerly known as Parassyte? Creator of Byte Size Mini-tourney and the Slapstick League?

No. I'm not an established member or anything, just signed up here prior to starting my featherweight project. :)

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Oh... Well, just curious. Anyway, what do you think of the modified version?

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Time for a battle revamp...
This battle is a revised version of my first ever battle. While originally a heat opening match, I have turned it into a World Championship match.
Behemoth Evo X vs Intrigue vs Brutalis 1.0 vs Liar 2
From England, Behemoth Evo X!!!
Representing England, the Behemoth boys are back for another war!
Sam: So what are your main weapons on Behemoth?
Kane: Well, we have this titanium scoop on the front, and on top we have this axe.
Sam: (Flash back to House Robot Rebellion Series 7) So, how did you fix the axe after it broke off in the House Robot Rebellion?
Anthony: Well, it took a while, but we have the axe back on. We're veterans of the wars, all the way back to Series 2. The basic concept of the present Behemoth came during series 3, and the top axe came during Extreme.
Weighing in at around 98kgs, and veterans of the wars, with the scoop and the axe. They've had years to refine it, but how strong are those wheel guards, and how well placed is that axe?
From Canada, Intrigue!!!
The Canadian reply to tough armour!
Sam: So...
Kody: So...
Sam: So you have this big axe... Who are you planning to smash it into?
Kody: I'm planning to smash this into Behemoth, but I also want to wreck that Lexan on Brutalis.
Sam: Well, we have seen you in EOTR4, and you have reached the semi-finals, so how does that feel?
Kody: Excellent. I'm on my way to seriously refining this machine.
A very dangerous 99kg machine with an axe that can flip opponents over in the recoil. It has good pushing power and sharp spikes at the front, but no skirts leaves the sides and rear exposed.
From Wales, Brutalis 1.0!!!
A brutal Welsh successor to Panic Attack...
Sam: Well, you have this big flipper...
Liam: Yeah...
Sam: But all the other robots have srimechs...
Liam: I know, but I figure that I can use the flipper to flip them out of the arena. They won't be able to self-right from there... (chuckles)
Sam: Well, might the Lexan be a weakness?
Liam: True; we have some axes such as Behemoth and Intrigue, but if I flip them, the match'll be over before you know it.
A Dantomkia-shaped design with a powerful pneumatic flipping arm, with skirts and weighing in just at the 100kg weight limit, but I can't see the Lexan armour holding up...
From the Netherlands, Liar 2!!!
Looking to deceive the opponents with a flick of the flipper...
Sam: So this is Liar 2. What did the original Liar look like?
Martijn: (walks over to table where the original Liar is displayed) This is it.
Sam: I can't believe I didn't see that... (chuckles)
Martijn: Anyways, we have a powerful flipper, and 2 spikes to make it a thwackbot if need be.
Sam: So you have another weapon if you run out of gas for the first one?
Martijn: Yeah.
A WBC-shaped robot with an equally powerful flipper, it has Hardox wheels and 2 spikes for thwacking, but the side and rear ground clearance could be a problem.
Roboteers, stand by...
There you see the Behemoth boys, captain Anthony Pritchard and weapons operator Kane Aston on the left; on the right, Kody Kunz driving Intrigue. In the other booth, Martijn Benschop on the left, driving Liar 2, and Liam Eliot on the right, driving Liar 2.
And don't forget, audience, we have our house robots in there, like Dead Metal, with the pincers and the circular saw... And along with him, the mighty... Sir Killalot!!!
3..2..1..Activate!!!
And now, the VRW World Championship battle begins! Intrigue coming in, trying to attack Behemoth, While Brutalis and Liar have their own fight. Behemoth now flipping Intrigue with the scoop, Intrigue self-righting. Meanwhile Brutalis is flipping Liar, and pushing it into the CPZ. Dead Metal comes in, and grabs the wheel of Liar, now coming down with the saw, and not doing anything. Liar now away, attacking Intrigue, and Behemoth coming down on Liar with the axe, and not doing anything. Brutalis now getting into the thick of things, and flipping Behemoth, who self-rights using the axe. Intrigue now fires the axe, and goes right through that Lexan!!! Liam looks a bit irritated, and flips Intrigue once, twice, thrice... and now flips him out of the arena!!! Meanwhile, Liar is stuck and being attacked by Behemoth, who is ineffectively axing the top of Liar. It appears to me that Behemoth's axe is stuck in Liar 2's wheel hub, as it pulls Liar towards the pit release button. Liar is frantically firing the flipper and trying to get away, but no it won't, as Liar is shoved into the opening pit by Behemoth, who si shoved in himself by the waiting Brutalis!
CEASE!!!
Intrigue was not intriguing, and Liar 2 had to tell the truth...
BEHEMOTH AND BRUTALIS GO ON TO THE NEXT ROUND!!!

BEHEMOTH AND BRUTALIS GO ON TO THE NEXT ROUND!!!
You've done about 10 paragraphs on your intro, yet only 1 paragraph for the entire battle... You spend way too much time trying to hype up the battle with scripted voicing and then present very little meat in the battle. I'd be more interested in 1 paragraph outlining the introductions and a 10 paragraph battle that describe every metal grinding moment down to the finals seconds as sparks fly and robots die!
Here's something I cooked up way back in 2004...
My intro:
Quote:
Welcome to the second thrilling episode of €œThe War of the Writers€Â. Last time we had an action packed 6-way melee with writers from all parts of the fanfic globe. 5 robots went home destroyed and battled scarred, but one robot stood out victorious. The machine that battled until it was nearly blunt in the blades, Nick€™s Parasite stormed the series and showed them who was boss when it just narrowly won when it pulled a last second maneuver forcing SpinVerter to drive itself into the pit.
Tonight, we have the first round of the all new format for the War of the Writers. The war is now including 9 robots, representing 9 Fanfic Tournaments. The 9 robots have been broken into 3 individual 3-way melees.
The first melee tonight features War of the Writers champion, Parasite up against rookies Hurricane and Uppercut.
Let€™s head down to the arena and get ready for the first explosive round.
Normally a tad long for an intro, but it rehashes the previous tournament
My Battle:
Quote:
3€¦2€¦1€¦ ACTIVATE!
The scream of Hurricanes rotary engine was all that was heard in the first few as Hurricane charged across the arena gaining massive amounts of speed as it lined up its #1 target, Parasite. Nick was just calmly waiting with Parasite€™s blade spooling up to speed, Hurricane gaining ever closer as Upper-Cut just sat back giving itself the full time to spin up, then just like a Matador taunting a bull with his cape, Nick pulled another infamous last second maneuver and spun out around as Hurricane was about to hit!
Hurricane went from 25MPH-0 in about 0.000000001sec as it blasted into the arena wall. Emma slams Hurricane into reverse, but Hurricane seems to be stuck under the edge of the arena wall! Hurricane€™s wheels just spin and spin, giving off billowing clouds of black smoke in the process, but it just isn€™t going anywhere! Nick plays his cards well and deals a deadly full house as Parasite swoops in, and slashed into the 6mm titanium, giving off an aura of white titanium sparks in the process.
Matty decides to join in the party now that Uppercut is up to max speed and comes in like a vulture to fresh road kill. Uppercut inches closer and closer, the vertical flywheels teeth in a blur as the teeth sink into the titanium! Hurricane€™s back end is lifted a whole 2ft as Uppercut hits and Hurricane now comes unstuck from the arena wall. But Parasite is already there as Hurricane hits the ground and it receives another nasty gash down the side panel.
Uppercut comes in with the flywheel already back to max speed and decides to try its luck with Parasite by going HEAD ON!!! BANG! Uppercut starts shacking violently as the vertical disc goes out of balance. A huge piece is missing out of the disc! Parasite spins back up and goes again for Uppercut, lashing out at the disc and tearing into it.
The disc is torn clean out of Upper Cut!!! Matty has just fallen into a cold sweat now, he€™s totally weaponless! Nick revs Parasite back up again and charges in towards Uppercut. BANG! Parasite is ploughed side on into the wall by a heroic Hurricane. But Hurricanes not finished with Parasite yet, it pushed it away from the wall and towards the open pit. Parasite greet the edge of the pit with it€™s blade as it tumbles in. BUT WHAT THE! Hurricane goes into the pit straight after it! Uppercut came in from behind and pushed it in!
CEASE!
A last minute sneak attack from Matty Haka and a weaponless Uppercut has won them the War of the Writers first Melee!
The crowd boo down Matty for his sneak attack and Dave S doesn€™t look impressed. Maybe a Grudge Match is in order!
Now it's a bit hard to judge my own work, it's best left to others, but I felt at the time I had included enough zest in it to make it enjoyable to read, while providing enough details on what was happening. It was written 5 years ago (on June 20th) and may/may not be my greatest stuff.
Anyway, hope this helps you towards producing some great battles and finishing some tournaments (especially the finishing part!).

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Don't worry. But then again, compare that with the original:
Quote:
We have seen Behemoth in other series of Robot Wars. still practically the same design with the scoop and top axe.
Intrigue is a rather new robot. With its powerful axe, it can easily destroy other bots.
A good robot from Team ZlayerZ.
Liar 2 has appeared in several minor tournaments, and now is in Robot Wars. It has that flipper we all know about.
Brutalis is a Dantomkia shaped robot, very innovative design. Its weapon is a very powerful front hinged flipper, with about 1000 psi.
3..2..1.. Activate!
Behemoth comes straight into Intrigue, while Liar 2 attempts to get under that ground clearance. Intrigue is now trying to get its axe into those vulnerable sides, BUT BEHEMOTH HAS FLIPPED INTRIGUE! Meanwhile, Brutalis has gotten underneath that 20mm ground clearance, and FLIPS LIAR RIGHT INTO THE AIR! Liar 2 comes crashing down and out of the arena. Brutalis and Behemoth are ganging up on Intrigue, who is fighting back as well as he can while upside-down. AND BEHEMOTH HAS FLIPPED INTRIGUE OUT OF THE ARENA!
The two remain in a nice little tussle, tossing each other around.
Cease!
Craig Charles: Well, Intrigue was not intriguing, and Liar had to tell the truth.
Behemoth and Brutalis, they keep marching on!!!

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
With all due respect, that's a bit like how Napalm 2 was an improvement on the original Napalm...same with your battle writing ability unfortunately, you can try to polish a turd but the sad fact it up until now you have yet to succeed in elevating it above the level of being a turd.

You don't happen to be a fan of the ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and his green-skinned purple-haired monkey Peanut at all do you Joey?

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
...no, sorry to disappoint you :)

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Lol, no worries, its just he makes a reference in one of his sketches about how polishing a turd doesn't change the fact that its still a turd :)

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Another revision of Sweep Mines, or Die!!!
Sweep Mines, or Die!!! (Active)
Weight: 110kg
Shape: A basic invertible box on wheels with scoops at the front and rear, however the sides are slightly rounded.
Colour: Dark Grey, with SWEEP MINES, OR DIE!!! written on both sides in what I call Blowtorch Flame Blue.
Dimensions: 90cm x 60cm x 20cm
Drive: 2 60v LEM-200 motors, powered by 8x NiCad Battlepacks.
Locomotion: 2 70cm x 5cm x 21cm rubber tank tracks.
Armour: 5mm Hardox monocoque, with 5mm of rubber underneath for shockproofing.
Strengths: Tracked, uses weight advantage, excellent pushing power, tough armor.
I later switched to LEM-200s, as the robot(With PERM 132 motors) produced more hp/kg then a Ferrari race car.

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Okay... I need some otherweights... Therefore, I present to you Team Corsair Otherweights!!!
Tetris (Clusterbot, Superheavyweight, Active)
Weight: 150kg combined, 75kg for each part.
Shape: (Each Part) Tornado (S7) with a scoop at the front.
Colour: One is pink, the other is green. The pink one has PART 1 written on it in black, while the green one has PART 2 written on it in white.
Dimensions: (Each Part) 75cm x 55cm x 15cm
Drive: (Each Part) 4 24v S28-150 Magmotors, powered by 5x NiCad Battlepacks.
Locomotion: (Each Part) 4 small Biohazard style rubber wheels.
Armour: (Each Part) 5mm Titanium
Speed: (Each Part) 15mph
Ground Clearance: (Each Part) 0mm at front due to solid Hardox scoop, 5mm at sides and back.
Turning Circle: (Each Part) 0m
Weapons: (Each Part) a 10kg horizontal clockwise-spinning disc in the scoop, powered by an LEM170 at 36v. The disc spins at 2000rpm, and is equipped with 8 0.5kg hardox teeth. To simply explain the physics: Both robots hit the opponent with their clockwise-spinning discs, the force of the hits combine in the middle of the target, and the counteraction of the forces causes serious shock damage to the target.
Srimech: Both parts are invertible.
Strengths: Clusterbot, should be able to tear opponents twice as big up due to Newton's Law.
Weaknesses: A good flip and they should end up in Canada. Plus, if they're not aimed precisely, they could go flying across the arena.
Bio: I've had this idea for some time now. If 2 discs hit a target in a near straight line, the resulting counteraction of forces(Existing due to Newton's Law) should be enough to cause a small shockwave of counteracting forces in the opposing target, causing massive shock damage. Now I've finally built the robot to test my theory. Even if it doesn't work, it should still do quite a bit of physical damage with the discs.
Tetris Un (Classic Heavyweight, Active)
Weight: 75kg
Shape: Tornado (S7) with a scoop at the front.
Colour: Pink, with PART 1 written on it in black.
Dimensions: 75cm x 55cm x 15cm
Drive: 4 24v S28-150 Magmotors, powered by 5x NiCad Battlepacks.
Locomotion: 4 small Biohazard style rubber wheels.
Armour: 5mm Titanium
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to solid titanium scoop, 5mm at sides and back.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapons: A 10kg horizontal clockwise-spinning disc in the scoop, powered by an LEM170 at 36v. The disc spins at 2000rpm, and is equipped with 8 0.5kg hardox teeth.
Srimech: Both parts are invertible.
Strengths: Can do quite a bit of damage with that disc.
Weaknesses: A good flip and it should end up in Canada.
Bio: Half of Tetris, my Cluster-Superheavyweight, put to use as a Classic Heavyweight(since I didn't have one).
Strike http://www.calvertfilm.fsnet.co.uk/3lightningssmall.jpg
Weight: 50kg
Shape: See the picture. It's the one to the far right, however it has invertibility.
Colour: See the picture.
Dimensions: 87cm x 83cm x 34cm
Drive: 2x S28-150 Magmotors, powered by 3x NiCad Battlepacks
Locomotion: 2 NPC foam-filled wheelchair tyres at the back.
Armour: 3.25mm Hardox
Speed: 10mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to wedge shape, 5mm at sides and rear.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapons: The wedge shape.
Srimech: It is invertible.
Strengths: Uh... It's tough?
Weaknesses: No active weapon.
Bio: The revision of Lightning Strike, Strike is my 2nd attempt at a middleweight(after Cyrilium Jr.), and should turn out quite well. Unfortunately, it has no active weapon.
Lightning LW http://www.calvertfilm.fsnet.co.uk/lightningjnr.jpg
Weight: 25kg
Shape: Look at the picture.
Colour: Look at the picture.
Dimensions: 70cm x 65cm x 25cm

Locomotion: 2 NPC foam-filled Wheelchair wheels
Armour: 3.5mm titanium
Speed: 7.5mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to wedge, and 4mm at sides and back.
Turning Circle: 0cm
Weapon: A rear-hinged flipper, using a 45mm bore 60mm stroke ram powered by a 1kg Co2 tank. the flipper should be able to flip any opponent, and should self-right the robot.
Srimech: The flipper
Strengths: It actually has an active weapon.
Weaknesses: Limited Co2 for the weapon.
Bio: Originally, Lightning LW did not exist. However, I've created a version of it that should work.
Starfighter http://www.calvertfilm.fsnet.co.uk/lightningrobot2.jpg
Weight: 12.5kg
Shape: Look at the picture.
Colour: Look at the picture.
Dimensions: 46cm x 43cm x 12cm
Drive: 2 Robodrive RC vehicle motors, powered by 4 AA sized NiCad Batteries.
Locomotion: 4 Robodrive RC vehicle wheels.
Armour: 1.5mm steel
Speed: 2mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front, 2mm at sides and rear.

Drive: 2 micro-car motors, powered by 1 AA sized NiCad battery.
Locomotion: 2 micro-car wheels
Armour: 4mm Plasticard
Speed: 1mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front, 0.5mm at sides(the sides are part of the front, see the picture), and 0.75mm at back.
Turning Circle: 0mm
Weapons: The wedge shape.
Srimech: It's invertible
Strengths: Fairly nippy, Plasticard is tough.
Weakness: It has no active weapon.
Bio: A revamp of Lightning Spark, an Antweight from Team Lightning, Spark is ready to fight.
So... What do you guys think?
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
I think...
that you've cloned most of Team Lightning's squad without any good reason;
that you have no idea how combined forces work (we went through this before);
that you have underestimated the power needed to supply featherweights so spectacularly that it made me spill my tea from sheer hilarity;
that you have overestimated the power needed to supply antweights so spectacularly it made me spill my tea again from sheer hilarity;
that you have no ideas about micro r/c cars (I have owned two of those in the past, and they a) only have one motor, b) the motor they do have is tiny on the scale of pager motors, c) they are weaker than a baby deer and d) they probably won't be very fast moving 150g);
that your continued presence on this board can not be a good thing if you continue your current cloying, attention seeking behaviour and general misunderstanding of robotics;
and that I'm not overly sure what Robodrive wheels are?
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
The reason I cloned Team Lightning's squad: Because I'm part of Team Lightning(See the _lightning at the end of my username).
Also, I've never made an Antweight, Featherweight, or Lightweight in my life(either real or fictional). And my first Middleweight(Cyrilium Jr.) was a worthless piece of sh*t.

However, I've recently been told by someone that the counteraction of forces(existing due to Newton's Law) will not exist, even though by all means they do.

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Okay. After the first fight of Bandwagon, I saw that it had its faults. Therefore, I now present, for your criticism, Bandwagon 2!
Bandwagon 2 (Active)
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Sort of like Tira IV: A cut-off wedge at the front with an X-Terminator style scoop, also at the front. The height rises towards the rear then angles down steeply in a medium wedge.
Colour: Metallic Blue, with a red flipper and chrome skirts.
Dimensions: 95cm x 85cm x 25cm
Drive: 2x 36v LEM-130 Motors, powered by 10x 36v A123 Battlepacks
Locomotion: 4 solid rubber wheels with Aluminum Boron Carbide hubs.
Armour: 7mm Titanium/Vanadium alloy, with 5mm of Vulkanized rubber on top to prevent axes from doing damage. If need be, the rubber can be removed and placed under the titanium for shock absorption.
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to shape, 0mm at sides and back due to 5mm titanium torsion-sprung skirts. 5mm without skirts.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapons: A rear-hinged flipper, powered by a 750psi 3kg Co2 tank, and utilizing 2 60mm bore 150mm stroke rams to power the flipper. The flipper can flip up to 600kg about half a meter into the air. Utilizing the tank, about a miraculous number of 30 flips can be made.
Srimech: The flipper.
Strengths: Various faults of the old design have been fixed.
Weaknesses: New faults might've been made.
Bio: Bandwagon was revised after its only fight(which it lost), and was redone with a more Tira IV-style shape, tougher armor, and a much more powerful flipper. The internals have also been shockproofed with PVC foam to prevent it from dying by spinners like last time.

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Another bot to add to the Epic Fail collection...
Spanik 2 (Active)
Weight: 100kg
Shape: A low half-cylinder on its flat side with a wedge at the front, ala Mega Morg.
Colour: The color of sand.
Dimensions: 90cm x 65cm x 30cm
Drive: 4x 36v PERM 80/Technobots Power Drive motors, powered by 10x 36v A123 Battlepacks
Locomotion: 4 foam-filled rubber wheels with aluminum boron carbide hubs.
Armour: 4mm hardox monocoque
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to wedge, 0mm at sides and back due to
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: A pneumatic crusher mounted on the front. The crusher is flat and wide, like the crusher on Holepunch 2.0. The crusher is powered by a big 150mm bore 90mm stroke ram and a 2kg Co2 bottle at 750psi. This should be enough to exert upwards of 25+ tonnes at the ram, and 10+ tonnes at the tip. This should be enough to damage at least minimum thickness Hardox.
Srimech: The robot's rollover design should prevent it from getting stranded. If not, there are 2 Steel Avenger-style srimech arms at the sides of the top of the cylinder to prevent it from getting stranded. The srimech arms are powered by 1 linear actuator each.
Strength: A powerful crusher.
Weakness: Limited Co2 for the crusher.
Bio: Spanikophobia was revised to a smoother design that should prevent problems with the robot. The crusher has been improved to use the same system as the excellent crushing robot Super Gore Septua.

- You'll get ~9.3 tons out of that ram assuming the full 750psi. Nowhere near 25+.
- A flat and wide crusher is just plain bad. Not original, just bad. Lowering the pressure exerted just makes your crushing weapon less effective. There are no positive aspects.
- Another bot to add to the Epic Fail collection... Yeah, you're right there.

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
I have too many HWs on my squad, roflcopter
How's this one?
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...nc/kodybot.png
Jinx
Shape: See the render done by me and edited by Martijn. :proud:
Colour: Yeah, same thing, see the render.
Weight: 100kg
Drive: 2 LEM130 Lynch motors run at 36.3v, gearing is 6:1 so acceleration is good, but shouldn't be too reckless either
Power: 11 M1 A123 Lithium-Ion battery packs
Motivation: 2WD inner; CNC hubs with urethane tires. Yes, we North Americans call 'em tires, deal with it. :P The wheels are set near the back of the bot so the front has more weight pushed upon it and can get under opposing robots much easier.
Speed: 14mph
Armour: 8mm Ti/V alloy, with an extra 10mm of Ti/V on the front, making 'er pretty much impenetrable from the front. Underside is 15mm polycarb.
Ground Clearance: Dead 0mm at the front, 0mm rising to 12.5mm at the sides, and 12.5mm at the rear.
Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 90 x 80 x 15, so she's quite compact.
Weaponry: A nice rack-and-pinion mechanized pneumatic axe/hammer powered by 2 custom 2kg CO2 tanks and a 250mm stroke 100mm bore ram. It can smack opponents with about a tonne of force and has about 20 full pressure shots. The shaft and axe head are both made out of Hardox so it doesn't break upon impact, and the axe head is shaped to inflict the most damage possible.
Srimech: Axe

Now that I do disagree with. As Holepunch that would have 22 tonnes at the ram levered down delivers 10 tonnes at the beak, it doesn't matter anymore what is in between, it will crumple. Creating a sharp point only makes it snap off every time.

If you say that I'm wrong, then you're saying that Kody Kunz is wrong, cause Super Gore Septua has that much power(And is Kody's bot)...
But anyways, revised stats:
Spanik 2 (Active)
Weight: 100kg
Shape: A low half-cylinder on its flat side with a wedge at the front, ala Mega Morg.
Colour: The color of sand.
Dimensions: 90cm x 70cm x 30cm
Drive: 2x Char-Lyn J2 Hydraulic motors, powered by a 7hp motorcycle engine modified to give 9hp.
Locomotion: 4 foam-filled rubber wheels with aluminum boron carbide hubs.
Armour: 4mm hardox monocoque
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to wedge, 0mm at sides and back due to
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: A crusher mounted on the front. The crusher is flat and wide, like the crusher on Holepunch 2.0. The crusher is powered by a Char-Lyn J2 Hydraulic motor connected to a steel cable, which pulls the claw down. The robot uses the same system as super-heavyweight Jaws of Death. This should be enough to exert upwards of 20 tonnes at the ram, and 10 tonnes at the tip. This should be enough to damage at least minimum thickness Hardox.
Srimech: The robot's rollover design should prevent it from getting stranded. If not, there are 2 Steel Avenger-style srimech arms at the sides of the top of the cylinder to prevent it from getting stranded. Each srimech arm is powered by a linear actuator.
Strength: A powerful crusher.
Weakness:Can get hung up on a wall.
Bio: Spanikophobia was revised to a smoother design that should prevent problems with the robot. The crusher has been improved to use the same system as the deadly crushing robot Jaws of Death.

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
...if a pneumatic crusher is powered by a hydraulic motor, then...technically speaking...it's not really a pneumatic crusher any more, is it?
Come to think of it, if it runs off a motor then it doesn't have a ram for force to be exerted at in your strange and wonderful figures, so your description ends up just a tiny bit muddled?
Just saying :P

First off, I thought you said you didn't steal other robots stats anymore?
Secondly, If you read the specs of Kody properly you will see he has two pneumatic rams in there. Now even then He will not reach 25 tonnes, but he is a lot closer to the mark than you.

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
That explains now why 1 won't give the crusher 10 tonnes of force...
And the SGS system was used due to it being the best crusher as of this post.
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Err...how is SGS the best crusher right now? I can think of a few that are much better: E Clawdius Unum, Under Pressure, N^3
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
To me, it appeared to be the one that put out the highest Crushability factor.
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Meh. Doesn't always mean it's the 'best'.
And I based my output off of Holepunch 2.0. :P
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Spanik 2 has been updated once again. I've added a second motor, needed to make the crushability factor 15 tonnes.

Re: How could I Improve pt 2
How did you work out that your mysterious magical system gives 15 tonnes of force? (at the non-existent ram)
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
The system is pretty much the same used in Jaws of Death, and Jaws of Death has 15 tonnes at the tips, so...
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
...forgive me for being a tiny bit skeptical, are there any sources for Jaws Of Death's system having 15 tonnes at the tips? I can't recall anything like that.
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
From the official Battlebots guide:
Everything in Jaws of Death, from the clamping jaws to the drive, is hydraulically powered by Char-Lyn J2 hydraulic motors. The motors are fairly heavy, but are small and don't generate much heat.
Powered by 2 Char-Lyn J2 Motors(Each powering 1 jaw), the robot's jaws exert 15 tonnes at the tips!
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Where is this Battlebots official guide again? I've never heard of it.
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
I don't know. All I know is I got it as a present for Christmas from my parents.
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
How can Kody improve? Simple. He updates the renders of his vapourbots.
In this instance, he means all of his current heavyweights. And their previous generations.
71 renders.
Augh. I'm leaving the otherweights and retired bots for later, my arms hurt. >_<
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Good Lord...
Kody, that was some serious work you did, and the results are awesome.
And I was just wondering: Would you be willing to do some renders for me? Please?
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
Why thank you. Truth be told, I partially re-rendered most of them because of Geocities; I was still hosting images from there, and as of late October, Yahoo! will be closing down Geocities. And anyway I had missing images so... :P
As for your request (yes I see it :P), I could be a total prick and straight away say no, but I won't...yet. Give me one good reason why I should, though. :P
-
Re: How could I Improve pt 2
I really need some, since I have no idea what they truly look like. Sure I understand the basic shape, but I probably need to see them in a CAD...
And you don't have to do the outdated bots. All you would need to do is make CADs for the latest ones.
