How Could I Improve...
You could use two smaller ones, those might fit, or possibly three, although thats a bit overkill.
Slightly off topic, but would thicker polyprop be good as a base? I was reading something about Agent Orange changing to it after the third wars, because on TV their stainless steel one bent and stopped them moving, could be wrong though.
-
How Could I Improve...
Dantomkia uses a 2kg bottle, Perolito and Hades a 3,5kg bottle. If you place that in sideways behind the ram it could fit.
Polypro as a base, you would need some serious thickness to be of any use, at least 10mm. I use HDPE on the bottom of my feathers, but not as a base plate, just as some armouring.
-
How Could I Improve...
2kg and 1.1kg bottles are the most common in heavies btw.

Nothing particularly wrong with most of them...for SOS you might have trouble getting the drive and the pneumatics for the spike in there within the dimensions and the weight, could be wrong though. If I was being picky, Id ask about batteries and what linkage is used for the axe on Henry, and for you to clarify that the dimensions are in CM, but theyre generally good.
EDIT - just noticed you appear to have a hydraulic claw powered by electric motors as well, you cant have both :P

My views on ALL of these designs are very good, and LockJaw is very original and all of them seem to be flawless. Mark - do not say anything!
My only problem may be Henry VIIIs weapon, because 750psi may be a bit too powerful for its own good. Kody built a robot called Avarice which entered a minor competition in which its axe was so powerful it broke off at the vital moment.
Terrorhurtz can smash up Hardox quite badly at 160psi - which why I think somewhere around the 220psi or 140psi is enough. My new robot The Rock is doing 200psi.

How Could I Improve...
Thanks Paul!:)
Ill tone down that axe...
If I dont, Ill probably end up doing more damage to myself than the opposition!
Believe it or not, the inspiration for LockJaw actually came from the first Tetanus in RW5, because after the match against Onslaught Craig said something about Tetanus giving them Lockjaw instead of curing it.It just came from nowhere after that...Funny how its nothing like Tetanus at all...

How Could I Improve...
Paul, Liam. Pressure is not the main factor in force. It is pressure x surface area on the ram that gives you the force. then the flow (how fast can you get the gas in the ram) determines the speed.
So saying 750psi is too much very much depends on the size of the ram used, and how fast you can fill it. A Dutch robot called Spike uses a FP ram (750-1000 psi) for his axe, but has no more than 1 tonnes of force with his 50mm bore, 150 mm stroke ram. Which is plenty for an axe.

LMAO. I seriously LMAOed after reading that. :proud: Shaving off a mm of Hardox wont help. Youre seriously going to have problems with a bot that has a crusher, 4mm Hardox armour, and 2 LEM130s, really. Ditch the LEMs for S28-400s, and give your bot around 5-8mm titanium. Also, what powers the arms on the sides?
Shape: A very low wedge with side skirts
Dimensions: 94cm X 75cm X 42cm
Is that height the top of the crushing beak?

How Could I Improve...
Looks kind of overweight to me...as far as I remember, Razers arms were attached to the main claw by hinges, and when the arm was raised fully a bit of string (steel cable) pulled the hinge down so they went upwards...doing something like that would save weight, if not necessarily be 100% reliable.
While Im here (again...), can I be annoying and ask for opinions on my reincarnated Fire And Ice?
Phoenix Down
WEIGHT: Depends on setup, but around 110kgs
DIMENSIONS: 85 x 60 x 25 cm
SHAPE: Invertible long box, with a wedge at the front and an inverted wedge at the rear. The wedges are shallower in this version for more wedging goodness.
COLOUR: Largely midnight blue, fading to black at the rear and yellow at the front, with flashes of orange and red.
DRIVE: 2 LEM200 motors running from 4 NiCad packs at 48v, driving titanium tank tracks with Vulkalon on every other link for grip without eating amps
SPEED: 16mph average, 25mph max (rarely used as it is difficult/impossible to turn at this speed)
GROUND CLEARANCE: 10mm at sides, plating extending below both wedges giving zero clearance on whichever side is down (if that makes sense...), 25cm at rear.
ARMOUR: Sides, front and rear are 6mm Hardox, top and underside are 6mm titanium with Lexan reinforcing in key areas all around.
WEAPONS: Primarily a rambot, and is assisted by 4 10cm hardened steel spikes, one either side of each wedge. In the middle of both wedges, there is an interchangable weapons bay, which can hold the following:
Claw: A hardened steel hydraulic cutting/crushing claw, no taller than the robot, powered from a Vivoil pump at 2400psi giving about 4 tonnes of force at the ram, and 2 tonnes at the tip of the claw, which wont cut into good titanium or Hardox but will prevent almost anything from escaping.
Saw: A 15cm diameter diamond edged circular saw, run from an S28-150 Magmotor at 24v to around 3500rpm, spinning upwards to have a lifting effect.
Lifter: A pair of Haardvark/Nidhogg style hardened steel lifting forks, powered by an S28-150 Magmotor and a custom gearbox that can lift about 100kgs rather easily.
Standard setup is the claw at the front, and a saw at the back.
The weapons bay can be covered over to just make it a rambot - this has the advantage of making it just under 100kgs, allowing me to do battle in tournaments that dont have a tracks weight bonus.
SRIMECH: None, but runs inverted and has spike strips on the sides to stop it stranding itself.
NOTES: Armour and components shock mounted to reduce damage from impacts, spinners, bashes, battles, and other things ending in S.
STRENGTHS: Good speed and power, good against spinners, versatile weaponry
WEAKNESSES: Crushers and very powerful axes could cause problems with the tracks.

Hurricane
Shape- Cylinder
Weight- 120kg
Dimensions- 87 X 87 X 30
Mobility: 4 X Shuffling Pads
Power: 5 X 24v NiCad BattlePacks
GC: 3mm
TC: Guess.
Speed: 15 mph
Armour: 6mm Titanium
Weapon: 32kg Spinning Ring with 8 Pussycat-style blades powered by a LEM-170 spinning at 1500RPM
Srimech: Invertible
Strengths: Devastating Weapon, Able to rip through any armour, 1-hit KO, and extremely good pushing power
Weaknesses: Crushers and Axes
Howz that?
-
How Could I Improve...
I highly doubt itd be able to rip through every single type of armour...a Kj count would help, and keep in mind spinners are better with blunter teeth for shock damage, otherwise yo have a very nice yet useless giant circular saw...
And what motors does it have on the drive?

How Could I Improve...
Got an email from the Killertron team. They said I could build a new Killertron in the vapourbot world.
Killertron Mach 2
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Killertron from Extreme 1
Dimensions: 100cm x 60cm x 0-30cm
Motivation: 6 Vulkalon wheels
Power: 2 S28-400 Magmotors powering the middle wheels. The motors are powered by 4 NiCad battlepacks.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to scoop, and 0mm at sides and back due to skirts.
Speed: 21mph
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: The team have switched from the geared pickaxe to a new Terrorhurtz style pneumatic system at 210psi. about 3 1kg Co2 bottles power a large ram which gives the pickaxe about 1.5 tonnes of power, while the old pickaxe had only 1 tonne.
Armour: 4mm Hardox
Notes: Components are shock-mounted to reduce shock damage. Hopefully this Killertron will have the performance that the Series 2 Killertron had.
Srimech: The Pickaxe

You may have gotten in touch with loads of roboteers, but Ive travelled around the universe in 80 miliseconds, drunk 100000000000 bottles of water without going for a pee and eaten the Sharon Osbournes dog. In one afternoon.

Regardless, do you see any problems with the design?
YES OR NO?
+2>YES OR NO!?
To answer you, Kody.
I asked them, but they already said that Killertron wouldnt fight anymore, so I asked them if I could build a game version.
They said yes, but unfortunatly, they will never fight in robot combat again.

If you claim to have been in contact with the Killertron team, then why did you just post a thread in the Competitors section regarding the whereabouts of Killertron? This seems to be a very interesting story... :) While you were either making this up or were emailing the Killertron team, you could have been researching into making your own design for an axe robot. Instead you seem to be more interested in not only stealing vapourbots from other people, but now stealing real robots as well. Please stop playing off the success of others and come up with your own designs. If you want to use Killertron, enter Killertron. If you want to change Killertron at all, make your own robot similar to it. Giving it the same name and making up a story isnt required. But feel free to embarass me and upload a Print Screen of the emails. :)
As for the stats, why are four of the wheels unpowered? What is the ground clearance behind the skirts? How large is your large ram? Other than that it doesnt look too bad.
